Ahh a good sexy Royal Read. I like strong characters and I felt Garrett and Lola fell into that category. I would recommend this book.

ROYAL TREATMENT - Tracy Wolff

#2 in the His Royal Hotness romance series

VERY HOT! - 4 stars

Plot - 4 stars - Garrett is recovering from his abduction (described further in the last book) and is trying to adjust to his new status as the "spare" instead of the "heir." When he meets Lola, a brash and reckless American, he's intrigued.

Writing - 4 stars - The first book in this series was good, but I liked this one a lot better. Perhaps it was because I already felt familiar with the exotic location, plus it was nice to revisit with Kian and Savvy from the previous book. In any case, I was drawn into the story from the first page and found the book quick and easy to read.

Characters - 4 stars - Garrett is a great main character. Although he's always considered himself to be an alpha hero, he's vulnerable and hurting as a result of his abduction. He's at loose ends and trying to regroup so he can be considered for the crown. Lola is a strong and independent businesswoman, but she's finding herself drawn to Garrett and enjoying being taken care of. Their chemistry is extremely hot, and the sexual scenes are also. Their attraction to each other made sense, as did their relationship despite the difference in their backgrounds. You could tell that their feelings went deeper than just the surface differences, since they understood each other. I was definitely rooting for their success as a couple.

Title - 4 stars - It fits the "royal" theme of the series duo, and points towards how Garrett is being "treated' in the press and by his father the King.

Cover - 4 stars - The cover model is clearly the sexy Garrett, and the fact that he is wearing a suit makes a lot of sense--adding a bit of class to this otherwise fairly typical romance-genre cover.

Overall - 4 stars - This was a quick and enjoyable read. The characters were the stars for me. I loved their camaraderie and witty banter, and I would definitely want to hang out with either or both of them. Their relationship made sense, and it was interesting to get a peek behind the scenes of a famous person who must deal with the media spotlight. The exotic location was a bit different from the usual, as was Garrett's focus on his subjects and his role as a political leader. The crazy action scene towards the end really captured my attention and took the book to a satisfactory conclusion. All in all, the romance was hot and the setting/characters were unusual and appealing

A book in a series, it definitely helped to read the first book in the series, but it wasn't necessary to enjoy this book. I liked the chemistry between the main characters and the stress of being in the public eye while trying to prove you're strong and capable, not impacted by previous trauma. A quick read but a different storyline than most in this genre.

I enjoyed this read and would recommend it to romance readers that crave something a bit darker.

I liked this one a lot. I'm giving it 4 out of 5 stars. This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion.

So I started this one back in April (got almost 3/4 done), and then I got bombarded with ARCs for review tours. It's my own fault that I didn't have time to finish, but it wasn't from lack of not wanting to read it. I really liked both Garrett and Lola!

The book was a little heavy, but that's not surprising given who one of the main characters was and what happened in the last book. We pick up where that one left off, except now we focused on a different couple...and the brother I was honestly more excited for. I liked Kian, but Garrett is more my style.

Lola was the perfect match for Garrett. She was stubborn, strong, so loving, etc. He needed someone who could help him handle the demons he faced. I highly recommend this book if you like strong heroines, royalty romance, and some sassiness.

Garrett now had a new life as the soare instead of the heir. This was supposed to be the best thing that ever happened to him? Too bad it felt more like a nightmare than a dream come true. He had tried for a month to enjoy this lifestyle but it just wasn’t working for him. Garrett had been to more parties in the six weeks since he had gotten a clean bill of health than the first twenty eight years if his life. That’s saying something considering major galas had been a part of his existence since Garrett could walk. Garrett feels he is pathetic and not to mention useless now. He was once the man trusted to rule his country but now he can’t even be trusted to be in control of himself or so the anxiety medicine the King’s therapist keep insisting he take. But Garrett does have PTSD. Garrett had been rescued nine months ago. His father the King had decided Garrett wasn’t fit to to be King once he returned from the kidnapping . Kian doesn’t want to be King he had loved the playboy partying lifestyle. Garrett isn’t even allowed in the royal palace when there is serious business going on. That isn’t what his brother Kian says to his face . But Garrett is very aware of how often he is showed the door. Garrett may have got a couple concussions but his brain still worked better than most. Garrett had been kidnapped and tortured physically and mentally in that time before he was rescued. He’s become a liability someone who can’t even be trusted with palace gossip much less state secrets. Death has to be better than this. Than again, anything does. Because of the distrust form his own family, and the forced idleness and uselessness- that was now his life- in ways was just as torturous as those months he endured in that compound filled with anti-royal crazies. His family, his country think Garrett was a traitor. They think they can’t trust him and there’s nothing he can do to prove otherwise. His life was reduced to basically nothing. No meetings, no public appearances, no charity work. While at the lake garrett sees a feisty redhead arguing with his security detail. Garrett is a prince but his detail doesn’t follow his orders. Not in the matters of his personal security they do whatever they deem necessary , even if it doesn’t agree with Garrett’s wishes. It was rare for people not to recognize him especially after his rescue and his face had been all over the media. But his woman didn't seem to know who he was. Garrett wanted her in his bed. But now she was checking him out and he couldn’t help remembering how broken he really was. And just how many scars the months in captivity left him with. Sure his clothes cover most of the damage but it’s still there inside and out. She says her name was Lola. lola has her own very successful vintage clothes business. She had come to Wildermer to shop for vintage clothes as she was the buyer as well as the seller of the clothes. Garrett talks Lola into going on one date with him and they are caught on camera together and the media causes a frenzy that was unexpected. Kian suggests garrett pretend to be in a relationship with Lola to gain his rightful title back as the crowned prince.
I really enjoyed reading this book. A different slant on a royals book. As far as I'm concerned Garrett’s father was a butt for how he was treating garrett instead of trusting him. Trying to see how he would manage things after some recovery time. I advise you to read the first book in this series for a smoother read. I loved how Lola understood garrett and what the last few months had cost him. Garrett and Lola have a hot chemistry. I did snicker at times while reading this. I really enjoyed the pace and plot. I would have liked to know more about garrett’s kidnapping and what happened to him and his rescue and recopperation. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend it.

The royal hotness series speaks for itself on the level of steam and hotness in this novel. I loved how Garrett tries and fails and being a playboy. It made the book that much more entertaining.

I really enjoyed Royal Treatmentfrom Tracy Wolff. In fact, I think I enjoyed Garratt and Lola’s story even more than I enjoyed Kian and Savvy’s story in Royal Pain.

Tracy Wolff writes such amazing and strong heroines, and Lola Barnes is one of her best. Lola has created her own business selling vintage couture clothing online and has become a major success. When she stumbles upon Prince Garrett of Wildemar, her life is quickly turned upside down.

Garrett was raised as the Crown Prince of Wildemar, as he is 7 minutes older than his twin brother Kian. However, after his kidnapping, his father the King doesn’t think Garrett is strong enough to be the future King. I wanted Garrett’s story the entire time I was reading Kian’s book, so to say I was excited to learn more about him might be an understatement. He had so much control through much of the story, and I attribute much of his new control to being with Lola. There really was just something about the two of them together that seemed predestined. Yes they had some of the best chemistry ever and once they finally made love it was so freaking smoking hot, but they also just seemed to get one another.

I knew that Garrett would eventually blow from the pressure of everything that happened to him. I honestly was surprised it took as long as it did. I really think Lola was his anchor in the storm of his emotions and she helped keep him grounded. However when Garrett finally lost control, he lost it in such a big way, even I was shocked by his level of emotions and anger. I swear I pretty much bawled as Garrett screamed all he had been through at Kian. It absolutely broke my heart for Garrett and Kian, as Kian really had no idea how bad things really were for Garrett. I loved that Lola was the person who helped Garrett move forward and work through so many of his issues.

Royal Treatment was such a wonderful story. The romance between Garrett and Lola was amazing. It was a super emotional yet had lots of moments of laughter too. I’ve always enjoyed Tracy Wolff’s books, and have to say Royal Treatment is my favorite to date.

Rating: 4 Stars (B+)

Book Talk…7/6/18
Traci Kenworth

Royal Treatment by Tracy Wolff. Loveswept. Apr. 24, 2018. Netgalley.

Amazon blurb: What’s a crown prince to do with time on his hands? Or better yet, who? It’s Prince Garrett’s turn to find love in this mouthwatering standalone novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Royal Pain.

Once upon a time I was being groomed to sit on the throne of Wildemar. Now I’m lucky they let me into the palace through the front door. After I was kidnapped and tortured by extremists, my reward upon my release is that nobody trusts me enough to let me be king. And since my twin brother, Kian, has assumed all my responsibilities, I figure why not take over as the black sheep?

But after breaking things off with my betrothed—we never had much chemistry, anyway—and giving the jetsetting playboy lifestyle a try, I’m starting to wonder if I’m cut out for this s***. Then I meet Lola Barnes, a drop-dead gorgeous entrepreneur from the States who’s as refreshing as she is feisty.

It’s supposed to be a one-night-stand—until the press catches wind of my “new American sweetheart.” Trouble is, Lola’s no sweetheart. But the more I see our names together in the headlines, the more I find myself craving another taste. . . .

Advance praise for Royal Treatment

My review: I really liked it. The characters are amazing! I thought it would be another innocent versus the prince, but Lola’s background just has the wow-effect as her mother was a Vegas showgirl. No timid girl here, but the paparazzi have her stumped as to how to get out of her rental house after a first date with a prince she doesn’t want to get involved with, mainly because they’re both broken people but that’s what makes this book such a thrill to read. They’re both real, down-to-earth people with big problems on their hands. It is extra hot, so be warned.

Garrett and Lola completely captivated me. I was also intrigued by him after reading Kian and Savvy's book, and his own story didn't disappoint. These two were trying so hard to help each other without fully taking the help themselves and it killed me. I'm always rooting for strong characters when I happen upon them and these two were worth fighting for!

This book came out at just the right time since I had royal wedding fever and was in the mood for some royal romance. Garrett and Lola had a great relationship and the complexity with dealing with royal life and the paparazzi was dealt with well. I enjoyed this tromp down royal lane.

Royal Treatment
Royal Hotness #2
Tracy Wolff
4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This story goes from light and sassy to deep and emotional. A great royal romance for Prince Garrett who we met in book 1 that had been abducted and tortured. Now it’s his turn to find love.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

This book was given to me by NetGalley for an honest review.

I have never heard of this author until I read the description to this book and I am grateful that I did. It was an easy read and I loved the fact that I didn’t have to read book one to know what was going on. The book was light, funny and just what I needed.

Garrett who was kidnapped and tourtured wants to win his throne back and in walks Lola with a fiery mouth and just the person Garett needs for a fake relationship to try and win his throne back. Tons of royals, paparazzi, and love <3

Royal Treatment
His Royal Hotness, Book 2

I Picked Up This Book Because: I like the author.

The Characters:

Garrett: Former Crown Prince of Wildemar
Lola Barnes: American self made business woman

The Story:

A story of insta lust that turns to love. Garrett is broken from surviving an abduction that lead to three months of torture only to be followed by his father taking away his rightful place in line to become king. Lola happens upon him at a lake while visiting Wildemar to shop for her vintage clothing business. Sparks fly immediately.

I loved Garrett and Lola’s chemistry. Love that Lola is a sassy smarty pants and that Garrett loved her for it. I really loved how they considered each other every step of the way. Even when they got it wrong it came from a place of I want him/her to have/be the best they can.

The story started off really slow for me. So slowly in fact that I didn’t pick the book up at all for a week or so. I’m really glad I gave it a second chance.

Don’t let the blurb of Royal Treatment fool you. There is more to this book than a jet-setting prince. I went into Royal Treatment thinking that this was going to be a light read. A book with plenty of sex and Instalove. While I got the latter two, I was not expecting the heavy subject that the book explored.

The author did a fantastic job of catching us up from Royal Pain. Garrett is no longer the Prince Regent. His kidnapping deemed him unfit in his father’s eyes and he was let go of his duties. Now, Kian, his twin, is now the Prince Regent. Garrett is hurting. From the kidnapping and torture. From his father’s unrealistic view of what happened to him. Meeting Lola was what he needed. She soothed his broken soul. Can Lola help Garrett face what happened to him? Or will she be another person who turns their back on him when he needs it the most?

I wasn’t the hugest fan of Lola at the beginning of the book. She came across as brash and argumentative. But, the more the story went on, the more I could see how she affected Garrett. She was able to keep his nightmares at bay. More importantly, she soothed him. It was in Paris where I started to like her. I loved her when she stood up to Kian for Garrett. I said “You go girl” and double fist pumped the sky. I also got her hesitation about being a relationship with Garrett. I know I wouldn’t have dealt with paps all over the place. Which is also why I wonder how Megan Markle deals with it? I would have been driven bat poop crazy.

Garrett was such a tortured person. As I was reading the book from his perspective, I realized that he was still recovering from his kidnapping and torture. His nightmares were a huge clue for me. I got his pain from being relieved from his duty as Prince Regent. That was his life. It was all he knew and when he was told “No more“, he didn’t know what to do with himself.

There is Instalove. Dreaded Instalove. I do expect some degree of Instalove in romance novels that I read. But when it is laid on thick, which it was in this case, I do a lot of eye-rolling and sighing out loud.

I couldn’t get over how cruel the King was to Garrett. As a parent, I was appalled by how callous he was to him. If my son had been kidnapped and tortured, I would have been devastated. He was more worried about how the people would view Garrett. I didn’t see an ounce of compassion towards him. At all. After the phone conversation with Garrett, I wanted to drop kick him in the boy bits. What Garrett went through couldn’t be healed like a physical injury. He needed time to heal. He also needed a family to support him. Which he kinda got with Kian. But not from the King.

Of course, the sex was fantastic. Lola and Garrett could heat up the sheets with the best of them. If my Kindle was a book, the pages would have been on fire for sure.

I am not going to get into the ending of Royal Treatment. All I have to say is that it was one of the rawest, most emotional endings that I have read to date.

What I liked about Royal Treatment:

A) Lola. Took me a while to like her but she was awesome towards the end of the book.

B) Garrett. Read above

C) Kian and Savvy making appearances. Loved it!!

What I disliked about Royal Treatment:

A) Instalove. Bleh.

B) The King. Couldn’t stand him

C) What happened towards the end of the book.

I would give Royal Treatment an Adult rating. There is explicit sex. There is language. There is violence. Also, there is a scene of a breakdown that could trigger people. I would recommend that no one under the age of 21 read this book.

There are trigger warnings in Royal Treatment. They are: PTSD, talk of past torture, and a scene containing a breakdown.

I would recommend Royal Treatment to family and friends. I would include a note about the triggers. This is a book and a series that I would reread.

I would like to thank Random House Publishing Group – Loveswept, Loveswept, and NetGalley for allowing me to read and review Royal Treatment.

All opinions stated in this review of Royal Treatment are mine.
