The idea of a were convention is intriguing, but there was no development. The whole text barely qualifies as a novel. The posted book summary ended up being the most interesting part of the whole affair. I'm disappointed and will not recommend this read unless the author rewrites it to actually explore the base idea (a were convention).
PS: it's baffling that in a world with a were convention, especially one attended by non-weres, people somehow aren't aware that real life weres exist...wait...what???

A nice and quirky menage romance
This was an enjoyable and cute romance short story with a mix of subgenres. First, it is paranormal romance because the characters are two werebears and a water nymph. Next, it is a MFM menage because the two werebear guys both like the lady water nymph. In addition, it is a transgender story because one of the were-bears is a transgender young man who still has his lady parts. Finally, all three people are college-aged, so it is a New Adult story, although it is a lot lighter with a lot less angst than most other New Adult stories that I have read.
There is some spicy sex with an accessory used. The author did a nice job with the intimacy of the love scene, but overall it was less steamy than it could have been. I like how all three of them respected each other and were careful of Rayce's insecurities and limitations in bed. I also enjoyed how the long-term werebear couple met the sweet water nymph at a shifter convention mostly attended by humans. This is the first story by Caitlin Ricci that I have read; it did not knock my socks off, but I enjoyed this unusual menage story that was written with sensitivity and affection.
I received a free advanced reading copy from the publisher via Netgalley, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.
