I enjoyed the varying viewpoints of this book and I loved how the author developed the storyline by alternating between present and past. This book kept me on th edge of my seat and was difficult to put down. Overall, a great read!

I could only make it through about a third of the book. It seemed very disjointed and did not flow very well.

5 Stars!
I LOVED this book! I was skeptical going into it as I did NOT enjoy Robyn Harding's The Party. She completely redeemed herself in my eyes with this book! I would classify this as a domestic suspense.

The book is written into two parts, past and now.
In the past chapters, we follow DJ Carey, the younger brother of a murdered teenage girl. In the now chapters, we follow Frances Metcalfe, a stay at home mom to a son who has had problems at his new school and Daisy, the rebellious teenager of Frances' new best friend, Kate Randolph. Kate swoops in when Frances is having trouble with her son at school and feeling like an outcast. They become fast friends. However, one of these women, Frances or Kate, is someone else entirely. In the past, she was Amber Kunick and one of the most evil women around. Which one is Amber? How are all these people and their lives related to each other? I won't tell you that. The author does a brilliant job of interweaving these stories together to keep you guessing to the very end.

This book was addicting to read and I look forward to the next book Robyn Harding puts out! Thank you to Gallery/Scout Press and NetGalley for providing me with an early copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Francis is a stay at home mom who is unsatisfied with her life. Her son Marcus suffers with ADHD, she doesn't fit in with the elite mothers at Forrester Academy, and she believes her stress eating and weight gain have contributed to the lack of intimacy between her and her husband Jason. Francis's life begins to change the minute Kate Randolph chooses her as a friend. Kate has it all she is pretty, thin, and confident with the perfect family. As the families become closer a dark secret is revealed that will change both of their lives forever. One of these women is actually Amber Kunik, a woman who abused, tortured, and murdered Courtney Carey, a fifteen year old girl.

Her Pretty Face is a mystery novel that transitions between then (the year of the murder) and present day, as it alters from the POV's of three characters: Francis, Daisy- Kate's teenaged daughter, and DJ- Courtney Carey's brother. There is also a mysterious character that goes by David who plays a pivotal role in the development of the plot. This novel is very well paced with lots of mystery surrounding each of the characters, their motives, and the secrets that they are keeping. There is some material that may not be suitable for all readers including the physical and sexual assault of young women. This was a novel I could not put down and I ended up finishing it in a day. I definitely recommend adding this to your TBR list.

Two women. A snobby school environment. And a deep dark secret. This book had all the elements of a great thriller. Frances is Mom to Marcus, a sweet but "different" child who has a hard time making friends. Frances has let herself go even though she is a pretty woman. The moms at the snobby school treat her like she is worth nothing until in walks Kate Randolph. Kate is beautiful, sophisticated, and walks her own walk. She befriends Frances and from there, the two spend lunches together and their boys have playdates daily. One of these women has a big secret though. She's actually a sociopathic murderer named Amber Kunick. My mind waivered back and forth while I was trying to decide which one was Amber. In the end, everything comes out into the open and we learn what happened several years ago to a young girl who was murdered. A well-played out storyline with very interesting, deep characters.

Thank you to Netgalley, Robyn Harding, and Gallery/Scout Press for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book wasn’t as good as I was hoping it would be. It had a great concept and plot with a good character development but it wasn’t that engaging to me. Quickly I realized this book was not for me. I had a really tough time connecting with the characters of the story. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for this book for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

I really liked this book. Robyn Harding has a writing style that makes you feel like you are a part of the story. The story was told from 3 different characters view points, and in the then and now. I love a book that keeps me wondering and for a good portion of the story I was wondering. However, there came a point that I figured out what was going on and still enjoyed reading it all play out. I would have liked the ending to have more of surprise, but I still flew through this book.

Great summer thriller read. The book bounces back and forth between different points of view, keeping you guessing which characters to root for until the very end. A step above most other summer thrillers!

I love psychological thrillers, and Robyn Harding has done an excellent job with her newest novel weaving a web of lies, deception, murder, and more! The plot is gripping, suspenseful and very addictive, and the characters are very well written and realistic. However, Her Pretty Face is not a heavy or overly graphic thriller, so I found it to be a perfect summer read while relaxing outside by my pool!

Frances Metcalfe is a mother and housewife who is fighting anxieties about her weight, her looks, insecurities in her marriage to a very attractive husband, worries about her son's development and behavior, especially after his retaliatory response to getting bullied at the super-elite Forrester Academy where he attends, and worries that someone will discover the horrific secret she's been hiding about her past. Not only that, but she is being ostracized by the other mothers at Forrester Academy after Marcus's action at school who are judging her parenting skills and want absolutely nothing to do with her or her son...that is until she becomes friends with the beautiful, witty, and sarcastic Kate Rudolph, who cares nothing for the other Forrester mothers and even stands up for Frances and Marcus. Even better, Kate's son Charlie befriends Marcus, which changes things for him...he starts behaving better and he even improves academically. It seems like friendship with Kate Randolph and her son is exactly what both Frances and Marcus need as their friendships begin to grow stronger. Or is it??

Just as things start to really intensify between the two mothers, who have become such close friends in such a short amount of time, the novel takes a dark and sinister turn as lies come to light and the friendship between the two begins to go off the rails. One of the biggest parts of the story after Frances and Kate become friends and each of their secrets are revealed is who is Amber Kunick, a woman who murdered an innocent teenager years ago...Is she Frances, or is she Kate?

The story is so engrossing as everything slowly unfolds in short chapters, told in the present and in flashbacks to the past from the perspective of 3 different POVs, those of Frances, Daisy, who is Kate's teenage daughter, and DJ, and you have to figure out who that is while reading the book! I couldn't put the book down and just binged it until I was done!

While I was reading Her Pretty Face, I began to wonder if you ever really know what dark secrets someone might be keeping! This is an addictive fast-paced read that is absolutely perfect for summer reading while you try to figure out who in the book is the real psychopath and who you can REALLY trust in this fabulous book of deceit and betrayal! I definitely recommend this one and see it being a big hit this summer.

Robyn Harding’s newest thriller knocks it out of the park! Frances, harried mom to troubled Marcus, finds herself friends with a beautiful, seemingly perfect mom/wife Kate. The two, and their sons, become fast BFFs, but not is all that it seems. Both women have secrets from their pasts that are simmering and ready to boil over. Her Pretty Face is a faster paced thriller guaranteed to please fans and new readers alike.

Her Pretty Face was a quick paced, psychological thrilller perfect for summer reading. The story creates an air of mystery from page one with a newspaper article. From there, the chapters alternate past to present and from multiple viewpoints. Robyn Harding did a wonderful job keeping everything clear and precise throughout the changes of view and there wasn't any confustion on which character was the focus. I figured the book out half way through, although I shouldn't take much pride in that as I think that was the author's intent. The second half had a few twists, and everything wrapped up nicely at the end. Thank you to Netgally and the publisher for sending me the eBook to review.

Frances Metcalfe is striving to fit in with the other mothers at her son's prestigious new school, but they're having none of it. A recent incident with her troubled son has cemented the divide between her and them and it seems insurmountable. That is until she meets Kath Randolph. Kate is everything Frances wishes she were: confident, skinny, tall and beautiful, and she doesn't give a damn about the other mom's at Forrester Academy. Their unlikely friendship blossoms and Frances has to pinch herself to believe how lucky she was to find Kate...Yet one of these women harbors a terrible secret and when it comes to light, no one could predict the fall-0ut.

A suspenseful domestic thriller told via 3 multiple, ambiguous story lines. Frances Metcalfe is an outsider in the private school world of "perfect" moms. Enter Kate Randolph who is beautiful, funny, chic and the kind of woman all the moms want to be friends with. Surprisingly, Kate snubs the elite moms and befriends Frances. The women forge an immediate friendship. Too good to be true, right? Of course it is! Both women are hiding secrets about their past and one of them is a murdering sociopath.

I found the story entertaining and it was a quick read but I was hoping for more twists & turns. I really enjoyed the premise and the 3 separate storylines. I felt for Frances and was touched by her backstory. Yet for me, the story was missing something. I actually wish we had more from "Amber's" point of view. It would have been interesting to get a peek into her sinister mind.

Overall, this was a quick and entertaining read which held my attention through the end.

Her Pretty Face is a mesmerizing read. Two women form a friendship amongst catty private school moms. However, one is not whom she seems. I honed in on who was the fake one fairly early on in the story. But the other friend has a potentially devastating secret too. The story draws you in and you can't read the pages fast enough to see what will happen next. It's a great story about how people can be deceived, manipulated, and played, but still find integrity and understanding.

Her face may be pretty, but the rest is ugly to the core. Her Pretty Face tells the story of two "soccer moms" with sons who attend the same private (and very expensive) school in an upscale Seattle suburb. Frances and Jason Metcalfe are middle class and toil to send their troubled son Marcus to the prestigious Forrester Academy. Frances is overweight, pretty in a vague sort of way, and very insecure. Marcus is bullied for his odd behavior (he gets back at one of his tormentors in a gross but imaginative way that suggests Marcus is smarter than his spoiled classmates think). The only reason the Metcalfe's can afford private school for Marcus is because they bought their rundown home from Jason's aunt at a fraction of the market value. Frances dreads having to face the other Forrester moms-most are thin, wealthy and beautiful- and never miss a chance to let Frances know she does not belong in their world. That is until Frances meets Kate Randolph. Although Kate fits the "Forrester mold"-rich, blindingly beautiful and living in a picture perfect McMansion, she and Frances become fast friends. Even more gratifying for Frances is the bond that forms between Marcus and Kate's son Charles. Through their friendship the previously brooding Marcus becomes upbeat and excited about school and sports. Despite their close relationship both Frances and Kate are hiding something from the other-and their secrets are a killer. But only one is a convicted felon-involved in the brutal rape, torture and murder of a fifteen year old girl nearly twenty years before. You'll spend the first half of Her Pretty Face trying to guess if it's Kate or Frances-each gives off plenty of clues that expose cracks in their carefully constructed facades. The identity is revealed midway through, and the flashback scenes of the murder and trial are graphic and gruesome (be forewarned-this was no "run of the mill" murder-the details are very disturbing). Clearly the woman involved is a certified psychopath-or was she a unwitting victim to her abusive and deranged boyfriend as she claimed at the trial? Deciding between the two scenarios is like watching a ping pong ball bouncing across a table-you want to believe what happened was the result of a naive girl in fear for her own life, but the evidence screams otherwise. Her Pretty Face is a quick read-perfect for a rainy weekend or day at the beach. But don't be fooled by the short length and swift reveal-even without the suspense of guessing who the killer is, knowing what she did (and trying to figure out why) makes Her Pretty Face a nail biting thriller.

Could not put this book down! This is the second book I have read by Robyn Harding and it did not disappoint! Although slightly darker than her first book The Party, it was engrossing! (Hoping her next book is less “dark”!) Umtimately, Harding captures characters, settings and plot deftly. Moving flawlessly from character to character as the plot intensified! Edge of your seat at times and perfect for fans of “gone girl” and “girl on the train”! Thanks netgalley!

Her Pretty Face by Robyn Harding is a highly suspenseful domestic drama. The book starts off giving the details of the murder of a teen girl that took place in the past before beginning with the characters in the current timeline. The point of view changes each chapter with Frances and Daisy in the now and DJ in the past.

Frances is a housewife and mother to a son who is having some problems at his new school. A bit ostracized from the other mothers Frances is excited when another mother, Kate, helps her out with her son and the two quickly become friends. Daisy is Kate’s teenage rebellious daughter who is always a little restless and acting out as a lot of teens do. While DJ is the younger brother of the murdered teenager from the past.

Even though the story follows two timelines and three somewhat different stories going on it was still easy to follow and understand the entire read. The addictive part of the book is waiting as the author slowly unravels all of the character lives and then slowly weaves them all together right in front of your eyes while you are reading.

While this one wasn’t what I would call a super twisty read it was still one that was engaging and had a few tricks up it’s sleeve so to speak. I though that the characters in here were quite realistic feeling as we watched a friendship form, struggles with their children and Daisy acting out as most teens do. I’d definitely suggest checking this one out for anyone in the mood for a story full of suspense.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

I enjoyed this story. It was different from anything I have read recently. The reveals and connections weren’t obvious to me. I flew through this wanting to know the connections and how it would end.

I am still thinking about the fate of a couple of characters... What does the future have in store for them? Even, is a person completely evil? Maybe that’s the sign of a good story? It makes you want more; you keep thinking about it.

I would recommend this book. Thanks to NetGalley, Gallery Threshold, Pocket Books, and the author for a copy in exchange for a review. The opinions are my own.

Frances is struggling to make friends with the other parents at her son’s elite school, that is, until she meets Kate with whom she becomes fast friends. Both Kate and Frances have a past that they are hiding. Of course, their secrets surface over the course of the story.
This novel was just okay for me. It is a quick read and mostly entertaining though predictable. The last 25% of the story seemed very contrived to me and left me feeling somewhat unsatisfied. I would have to recommend a pass on this one. I’m sorry I didn’t enjoy this one more. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this novel.
