An American Ghost Thriller, you say? Yes, please!
But....it's not the ghost you're thinking of! What a great tale of spies, murder for hire, and intrigue! Can't wait for the rest of this series to be released!

Thanks to NetGalley that I got to read a copy of Rogue. I have read other books by JB Turner and have always enjoyed them, Reznik is great so was looking forward to this one. It proves to be an easy read, flows well and gallops along at a stonking pace. I did feel there was a bit to much old boys network but I will definitely look to read the next installment. I just felt it did not have the zing of J B Turner's other offerings.

This is an all action adventure.

A deep cover agent is working to kill an American senator and his girlfriend, whilst they are on a remote Scottish island.

I found this book entertaining but completely predictable. The best thing about it was the action – the pace didn’t let up and I thought the overall plot was pretty good. What let the book down was the utter shallowness of the characters. They are all stereotypes, and, as the body count rises and the rogue agent carries on down his relentless path, the ending didn’t hold many surprises.

Still, it was a fun Saturday afternoon read, I was just expecting more.

I received this book as a free copy from Netgalley. This is fast paced thriller which I enjoyed thoroughly. I hope there will be a sequel to this. This is a first time I have read this author and I liked that the characters are well etched out.
This is a story of assassin Nathan Stone (NS) who was thought dead but actually given a new identity to do assassination for the committee( group of retired US army generals/brigadiers).
NS is cold hearted killer who actually enjoys killing due to his troubled childhood. The only feeling he is shown to have is for his sister.
NS is extremely smart and analytical , he is able to turn the table on the committee with his smart thinking.

Senator Crichton is a womanizer who loved his wife but at the same time still want to have one more day with his mistress.
NS handler Jack Sands seems to have soft corner for NS but he also is scared to raise his voice to defend NS when needed.

Overall a great story, I only wished there was more on the Doctor(Psychologist whom NS seems to be comfortable with in the past).

NOTE: I am not able to add review in amazon.ca as I get a message : This book has not been released so cannot review it.

This is a well written book by a good author. It starts a little slow as it seems they are building up the character for a longer series of books. Nathan Stone was presumed to be dead and returned to life as an assassin who happily accepts a new job. Double crosses occur and Nathan is not sure what to make of it. Great ending which leaves you hoping for more.
Thank you Amazon publishing UK and Netgalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Book Review: Rogue (An American Ghost Thriller #1) by J.B. Turner

This is a well-written book, easy to speed-read and finish in a day or two, with a rather familiar plot where the protagonist is left for dead, has facial surgery and becomes both the executioner and a pawn, whose actions are controlled by insidious, powerful men in a deadly assassination scheme against perceived enemies. Major snag due to (wait for it...) a leak to the media!

Part "Star Chamber", part "Face/Off", part "Jason Bourne", part of another book or movie or other. Predictable, but pure reading entertainment!

Review based on an advance reading copy provided by NetGalley, Thomas & Mercer and Amazon Publishing U.K.

ROGUE by J B Turner
Nathan appears to be a new person, yet there were those who knew what he was before, and wanted that now. Psychologist has him listen to a tune his father hummed, and with words, “ time to play”, he now remembers. A sister, where, he wanted to see, they tell him later, after the job is done. Patterson is given a kill list of undesirables, politicians, journalists. They have his name on it.. Jessica gets a call, saying her boss, a senator is on this list. The plot flows givings us a deep political thriller, that. reaches and twists In many areas. Characters were well described and set from the beginning, so we follow what their role were.. The questions of names on the list, will Nathan ever be free, a sister to see, a goal he wants, at what costs. I have J B books and love them all, this is different, deep and readers won’t want to miss.
Given ARC by Net Galley and Amazon Publisher for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.
