“Animal Babies” was cute and educational. I enjoyed the rhymes and illustrations. It’s a great book for introducing children to animals.

This adorable book is written in rhyme and is published in board book format - two winners for ages 2-5 years old. The incredible author/illustrator Charles Fuge has created a book that little ones will ask for over and over again.

The author has taken some of the sweetest animals: ducks, platypuses, toads and frogs, Asian elephants, rhinos, penguins, sloths and bats, just to name a few, and seemingly makes them come alive on each and every page. The animals are designed with amazing detail and expression enriching and emboldening the wee reader to turn the page to see which baby is up next to meet.

The fact that Charles chooses less familiar animals to showcase is wonderful because it gives the book an educational edge. "Animal Babies" is sure to delight readers of all ages and is highly recommended by Storwraps.

This board book features soft illustrations and rhyming text that showcase playful baby animals from ducklings to elephants to meerkats and more. It's totally adorable! My 18-month-old squealed throughout each book and reached out to touch the animals. Great choice for young children to enjoy.

I read a copy from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This is an cute book for babies and toddlers. The illustrations are absolutely adorable showing baby animals in various situations. The text is a rhyming sing-song listing facts about either appearance, actions or birth. My granddaughter absolutely loved this book and my great niece and nephew wanted to read it again and again to each other. I liked that the animals were not all the commonly known ones so they learned something about animals such as shrews, sloths and even a platypus. A book that would be a hit in any family with young children or a daycare setting. This is a board book so will stand up to little hands.

I’m not sure what is more adorable, the rhyming story of the illustrations contained within. I lied, its the illustrations. There are too many good ones to choose from. This is a simple book with interesting things about various baby animals, like platypuses hatch from eggs, and elephants are fuzzy. A wonderful book that will get lots of checkout at my library.

This book is super cute. Fun and easy read to do with your toddler. The animals are super cute (as you know) and the toddler is easily drawn in by the lyrical sense of the book. I'd absolutely recommend this one further to other people with kids.

This is an adorable and endearing book to read with toddlers. The lyrical rhyme scheme will draw young readers in as they gaze at the beautiful, detailed images of baby animals come to life. The illustrations are phenomenal. The animals are expressive and shown well in their natural habitats. This is a lovely addition to a library and a title you should be adding to your home collection.

⚠️ WARNING! Cuteness Overload! ⚠️

Perhaps calling it in February is a tad early but I’m calling it anyway. That’s how confident I am. I’d like to officially present Animal Babies with the award for:

🏆 Favourite Board Book of the Year 2018 👏

If you have or know any children that are at or nearing the board book stage this needs to be on your radar. Charles Fuge has both written and illustrated this little gem. A sweet educational rhyme takes your child around the world with baby animals on land, ice, rivers and into the depths of the ocean.

Simply looking at the front cover illustration I could already feel it coming on and by the end I had one of the most serious cases of Melted Heart Syndrome ever. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say that Charles Fuge’s baby animals are some of the best animal illustrations I’ve ever seen.

Each animal is detailed and gorgeous, from the cuddly baby bears up a tree to the cheeky meerkat babies hassling the bewildered cobra. Their expressions are varied and you can see that they all have their own personalities. Even the background and small foreground animals are captured beautifully.

My favourite is the hatching platypus that someone needs to replicate in plush toy form for me to cuddle. I also need a framed print of the procession of adorable ducklings.

If I haven’t convinced you yet I’d encourage you to have a look at the sample pages on Amazon and catch a case of Melted Heart Syndrome yourself. I don’t care that this is allegedly a “children’s book”. I will be buying a copy that Mum and I will wear out together and another for my doctors’ waiting room.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - MoonDance Press for the opportunity to read this book.
