The Ways Of Heaven Is a story of abuse, prejudice, forgiveness forgiveness, renewal and Faith - trust in GOD. This book can really get to you - emotionally and mentally- it is an incredible book. Time flies when you get so enthralled - engrossed and entirely into this book. The story line is intense- one that I am afraid to say is not a rarity in this world we live in today - but the author does show that even though we live in an evil world harmful, hateful world we have a Shining Light to encompass us and walk with us through it and carry us through it - Amen?

The Ways of Heaven, a Tall Pine novel, is the first book by Lindsey Barlow that I have read. I am so glad that I took a chance on this author. This is an absorbing read that kept my mind distraction from the reality of sitting by the hospital bedside of a loved one. For a few hours I was taken to Tall Pines, with Rose, Cade, Meg and Jonathan.

This historical story is one that brought out many emotions as I read it. I was appalled by Meg’s abuse, indignant at the prejudice of some, commending of Rose’s strength, supporting of Cade’s decisions to turn his life around, and found the good doctor to be completely loveable. The story is believable with both the good and the bad within the community. However, it is the way the main characters learned to turn things over to God that touched me the most. Rose was willing to trust the Lord in the difficult things. This touched my heart as we all must face hard times in life. I learned much from this character.

I am not sure how many books are in this series, but I will be looking to read more of life in Tall Pines. I can highly recommend The Ways of Heaven too anyone who enjoys Christian historical fiction.
