I received an ARC of this book to read from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review. Wool Studio by Meghan Babin is a collection of gorgeous knitwear made with luxury yarns. The photos of the finished garments are beautiful and there shots of each item from various angles. The patterns are well written and easy to follow as all techniques are clearly explained. The designs employ innovative construction and are sure to become classic favourite pieces in your wardrobe. I am definitely adding this book to my collection. This is a pattern book of modern knitware using high end yarn. It began as a digital book series but the publisher is now issuing hardcovers. It has beautiful photographs of the pullover and cardigan sweaters, tee shirts, ponchos, cowls and scarves. Most of the garments seemed slightly oversized. Some of the sweaters are worked in the round.

This is probably not a book for absolute beginners but most of the patterns don't require a lot of experience. There are a few I would definitely like to knit, like the Pismo Beach pullover that has lace stripes down the body and sleeves. The Eastham Poncho is also very pretty, although I think that ponchos are sort of useless garments. All of the lace and cable patterns are charted (which I dislike) but not written out. Because of the charts I probably wouldn't buy this book, but it has some lovely designs.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.
