I did not find this book to be anything more than some of the other types of books that I have read. Maybe if I read some of the earlier ones. Croocker is after ISIS members, but other than that I really could not get into the story though I did finish it.

This wasn't as good as the previous books. It wasn't bad either. Crocker is again leading his team to find and rid the area of ISIS members. It didn't feel that this was cohesive unit like in the previous book. Yes they worked well together but it wasn't as fun to read about them like before. This book does take a sad ending. I also think it's time for Crocker to retire. If you have liked the other books in this series you will still like this one.

"SEAL Team Six: Hunt the Viper" eBook was published in 2018 and was written by Don Mann (http://usfrogmann.comand) and Ralph Pezzullo (http://ralphpezzullo.com).  Mr. Mann has authored or co-authored a dozen books, while Mr. Pezzullo has authored or co-authored seventeen. This is the seventh novel in their "SEAL Team Six" series.

I categorize this novel as ‘R’ because it contains scenes of Violence and Mature Language. The story is set mostly in the Middle East. The primary character is US Navy SEAL Thomas Crocker.

Crocker and his team are in Syria and are confronted with ISIS combatants. While defending a Syrian city from attack, he meets the young French epidemiologist Severine Tessier risking her life there as a volunteer with Doctors Without Borders. She and Crocker connect.

Months later, a colleague of Tessier's is kidnapped by ISIS forces. Her imminent execution is announced. Tessier reached out to Crocker for help to rescue her colleague. While officially told NO, Crocker and his team make a desperate attempt to rescue the girl before she is executed. Tessier mounts her own search for her young colleague. It is a race to see if either will find the girl before she is executed.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 6.4 hours I spent reading this 320 page modern Special Ops thriller.  I liked this novel as the story had more of a realistic feel to it than many of this genre. I like the cover art. I give this novel a 4.5 (rounded up to a 5) out of 5.

I appreciate the fiction that comes out of the intensity of our military's experiences. I am a fan of the author and continue to look forward to more stories.

Tom Crocker and his team of Seals are in Iraqi Kurdistan to rescue the survivors of a French helicopter crash. It is no easy mission due to the insurgents who want to take over the village. The Viper who leads the group of terrorists is the main threat. Doctors without Borders are there to help the people in the village.. This book makes you feel as if you are there. War, death, innocents and sorrow, but also courage, hope, selflessness and love. This book makes you think. It takes special people to do what has to be done in times of war and crisis. It is a book that should be read, more than once. I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review.

I am usually not a big fan of military thrillers but this title opened my eyes. So much so that I will be adding the rest of the series to my TBR list. Here team leader Tom Crocker and his mates are in Iraq, fighting the good fight. Their mission is to resue a French helicopter crew that has crashed in Syria. The mission is dangerous and reality hits home when they run into a number of ISIS soldiers. After a fierce battle, they get close to a high-value asset, Samir al- Sufi, The Viper. The Viper captures a civilian doctor and the hostage faces an ugly death. Crocker and his buddies attempt a dangerous and thrilling rescue which results in multiple casualties. The action is forceful and violent and the war scenes are electric.

Very good book from a great author. I have read previous books from the series and all have been exceptionall. This is a story about Tom Crocker and the fight against ISIS as well as the horrors of Syria. They are facing an ISIS commander al Sufi and this book moves at a breakneck pace. Highly recommend to anyone who loves realistic military action while also not downplaying the bureaucracy involved.
