This is the first book in Miranda's new Angel Falls series. Sara is happy to go back home to help her grandma & to work with her father in his practice.

However, her hometown also has unpleasant memories for her-between the wedding that never was & running into Colton Walker who kept teasing her when they were in school together. As Sara settles back into town, she starts spending more time with Colton, even though when she first saw him she was annoyed he was still there. It was fun seeing them re-connect.

Then There Was You by Miranda Liasson is a beautifully written heartwarming read and I really enjoyed it.
The storyline was entertaining, it held my interest all throughout the book and it warmed my heart watching Sara and Colton fall in love.

Then There Was You is a lovely start to the Angel Falls series, looking forward to reading more in the near future.

"Welcome to Angel Falls, a town so delightful even enemies can't help falling in love!

Angel Falls is the last place Sara Langdon wants to be. Her hometown may be charming, but it's also filled with memories of her "wedding-that-never-was." Yet Sara's grandmother needs her, and joining her dad at his medical practice gives Sara time to figure out what she wants for her future. But when her first patient turns out to be Colton Walker, the man who sabotaged her wedding, Sara starts to wonder if she'll ever be able to escape her past.

As police chief, Colton Walker is devoted to his small town, and he's equally determined to avoid its newest resident. He and Sara have always gotten along like oil and water, and since the bachelor party incident, he's her Enemy #1. But after sharing an unexpected--and unexpectedly hot--kiss, Colton starts to wonder if the woman he's always fighting with is the one he should be fighting for."

For when you've gotten sick of all the murder...

This was a really great start to the Angel Falls series. You know how we all had that one boy in school that picked on us and pulled our pigtails...yeah it was this guy - Colton. Only my Colton didn't grow up to be a Sheriff. I wish he had. The push and pull that these two have are astronomical!! They had me fanning myself. The chemistry was undeniable and if the other books in the series are as good as this one then - home run!! This was overall a fun read and I can't wait for the next one.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Ms. Liasson has written a poignant story of family and second chance/friends-to-lovers.

Dr. Sara Langdon had no plans to return to Angel Falls, the small town where she grew up, after being jilted by her husband-to-be right before their wedding, but her grandmother needs her. She returns to Angel Falls to help care for her grandmother who has Alzheimer’s. She joins her father’s medical practice and works in the ER of the local hospital. Her first patient in the ER is none other than Colton Walker, Angel Falls Chief of Police and the one person Sara never wanted to cross paths with again. She blames him for her wedding being called off. Thus begins a contentious relationship between the two.

Angel Falls is a typical small town where there are no secrets. Everyone knows everyone else’s business. Sara and Colton can’t help but run into each other. The tension between the two of them could be cut with a knife.

The premise of this book and the characters are believable. It really hit home for me as I was caretaker for my mother and my mother-in-law who both had Alzheimer’s. The closeness of the Langdon family and the loving way they cared for Nonna warmed my heart.

Ms. Liasson never disappoints. I loved this first in series book and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Sara wasn't sure she wanted to return her hometown but when her Nonna was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, she knew she had no choice. She left a year ago with her head down and shamed because her fiancé called off the wedding the day before.

Colton has always thought highly of Sara and when she moves back to town, he wants to make a move. The only thing is that Sara blames him for her ex leaving her. Colt's done a lot of things, but he's not taking the blame for Tagg's straying.

As Sara and Colt work out their past issues, they both realize that what you really want may be standing right in front of you but it still takes a lot of time and effort to make it work.

Then There Was You is an enemies-to-lovers, small town romance between the doctor (Sara) and a cop (Colton), so for me, the story had a lot going for it before it even began. As I read the book, I liked the family aspects to the story and the small town setting where everyone knows everyone else and their business. I liked Sara’s struggle to gain her father’s respect in the workplace and the way that Colton serves his community as the local police chief.

But from Sara’s first interaction with Colton, we can feel real animosity and hurt on Sara’s part over the way that Colton treated her in the past and this really stuck with me. So as the story develops and we see Colton is a good guy in the here and now (and he really is a good guy), it took me a long time to warm up to him. Then, just when I start liking Colton, he does something weak and stupid and I was back to disliking him.

Sara and Colton’s road to happiness is a rocky one but it has a satisfying conclusion. Then There Was You is an enjoyable read and has plenty of good elements and romance but my dislike of Colton probably kept me from loving this book as much as I thought I would.

Colton was such a good guy during the entire story - from his past behavior that had been wildly misconstrued to his stand-up-ness (is that a word) to make up for his bad boy past. Sara and Colton were like oil and water at first, but eventually blended into something quite lovely and delightful to read.

I wanted to like this title. Everyone else has, it seems, and there were elements to it that I was drawn to.

Unfortunately, I never really believed the connection between Sara and Colton when it became romantic. I believe their dislike for one another, although the reason once it was revealed felt a little weak. And, I believed that they managed to bury that particular hatchet, but I never really believed the transition to them being a romantic couple...and that makes a romance about 2 characters tough to relate to and enjoy.

As this is the first in a series, there were what felt like the elements of the set up for the future books, and I think there is a possibility that the next books in the series will be better for me, but this one felt a little flat.

I am not able to recommend this title.

An awesome start to a new series, set in the small town of Angel Falls. Dr Sara has returned home to help with grandmother, who has dementia. She is going to work in the same practice as her dad. She has recently broken up with her cheating fiancee. The sexy town sheriff, Colton has always liked Sara but they have a past history, a mere miscommunication. Colton doesn't do forever and Sara is not ready to open her heart again, can they go from past enemies to friends to lovers?

Loved these characters, both very likeable and family oriented. Family is very important to both. Loved the building romance between the two of them, oh that first kiss! Can't wait to revisit this town in the next book. I highly recommend this book.

Back in town to care for her aging Grandmother, and taking a place in her father’s medical practice after Colombia, Sara never thought she’d ne back in the place that held so many difficult memories. Her engagement fell apart two days before the wedding when her fiancé slept with the “cake girl”, and she’s not been able to eat cake since. His best friend, Colton, the bane of her teenaged years, also is to blame in her mind – with the added resentment for his relentless teasing, so she’s determined to ignore him, or not run into him: whichever comes first.

Colton is all grown up now, and is the Police chief in Angel Falls. His childhood was a difficult one, his parents died when he was young, and he and his younger sister had to move in with his grandmother. He’s realized that his treatment of Sara was wrong, and can’t blame her when her reaction to him is less than warm.

Together the two are a big pile of unexpected: Sara still holds a boatload of insecurities and hurt, but she can’t help but see that Colton has matured and perhaps he’s not quite the despicable being she believed him to be. Colton, for his part, believes he just wants to be friends, friendly and nothing more, but he can’t quite seem to get Sara out of his mind. Despite the two being adults, the early stages of their romance is very sweet as they start to see one another as they are now. Of course, others in the story see the two of them as well-matched, and the lovely moments with secondary characters and family members add layers of understanding to the personalities here. Sara’s grandmother, newly diagnosed with dementia is particularly telling – the laughter and sadness that weigh on everyone, and the real enjoyment in company of family, friends and the little town that shines through. A lovely, sweet story that brings plenty of atmosphere and small town ‘everyone knows your history’ flair to readers.

I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

This was my first read by this author but, because I enjoyed this story so much, it won’t be my last.

I fancy a good enemies to lovers romance. I REALLY fancy a GREAT missed opportunity/enemies to lovers/second chance romance!!

Colton was everything I love in a good Hero. Give me a hard-working blue-collar man who has lived a good life and is a genuinely good person, who might be dealing with some baggage over a cocky billionaire any day. Colton has known loss in his life and he struggles with being “good enough” but it’s obvious that he cares about everyone and is more than just good enough he’s deserving of happiness. It just so happens that his happiness might come from his best friends ex-fiancé, Sara.

Sara was burned by her ex-fiancé a year ago, but before that she was burned by his best friend over ten years ago. Back in town to care for her ailing Nona and join her fathers family practice, the last thing she expects to have to deal with is the man she holds responsible for losing her fiancé. Colton and Sara have a past and they’ve never really been out friendly terms, but the feelings their sharing now that she’s returned home are anything but friendly.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a slow but steady burning romance with little angst but plenty of resistance. The way that Sara and Colton slowly give into their feelings while still sort of guarding their hearts was realistic and honest. I love how much of a role their families played in their lives and I can’t wait to see each of their siblings get their HEA’s too. (I hope that’s where this series is going anyways.)

A great new series to get lost in. I love Miranda Liasson and I recommend you read her books.
A friends to enemy to lovers book. Sara and Colton went to school together. She was the need with big glasses and he was the football star. When he is your fiancé’s best friend and everything falls apart 2 days before the wedding it’s easy to blam the closes person to him. That was Colton.
When Sara moved back to their small town of Angel Falls to care for her Nonna she wanted to stay far away from him. But when there are sparks it’s hard to stay away.
I loved the banter between Sara and Colton and completely love Her sisters. I laughed and cried during this book and my heart broke for the characters and the issues they all faced as a family. A must read series I just know it. This is a honest review of a ARC by Netgalley.

Then There Was You is book 1 of the new series Angel Falls and a great way to start!

Colton and Sara have been enemies ever since her disaster of a wedding that never took place and she blames Colton her ex fiancé best friend only she doesn't know the whole story...

Now that Sara has come back to town to help care for her grandmother and join her dad in his medical practice the first patient she has to see is none other than Colton..but with all the old feelings being stirred up and her hate/attraction to Colton can she put the past behind her and open up to the attraction or will she just never let the past go??

I feel as if I have found a new must-read author with Then There Was You by Miranda Liasson. This small-town enemy to friend to lover story is deliciously rich in character development and surprises. These are two characters that have made good in their lives. They care about others, make decisions carefully but also have problems with personal relationships. I enjoyed seeing how their relationship developed once Sara had returned to Angel Falls.

While this is Colton and Sara’s story, it is also the story of a community. The drama of a small town is part of the charm of this story. That is due to the wonderful writing style of the author. It is like a visit to a real place with real people, experiencing their joys and their sorrows. Even the drama of Colton and Sara’s high school past is authentic which gives glimpses into the attraction early between these two. The times or maybe the maturity was not right then. Now destiny is on their side. Then There Was You should become a favorite of small-town romance fans everywhere.

Then There Was You, is the first book from Miranda Liaason's brand new series Angel Falls. It is an enemies to lovers story with two main characters that are genuine and addicting.

Dr. Sara Landon is a bright and advantageous woman, returning home to look after her beloved grandmother who is suffering from Alzheimer's. Joining her father's medical practice will be quite challenging, because he is very set in his ways and he may be reluctant to trust her new modern methods. Colton Walker, the police chief of Angel Falls, has crushed on Sara since high school, even when she was dating and subsequently engaged to his best friend. Sara was jilted two days before her wedding and continues to blame Colton for the entire debacle.

I truly liked this small town romance. The primary characters are easy to identify with and the secondary characters are engaging and delightful. I found myself cheering for Sara and Colton to work through their misgivings and find their happily ever after with each other. Although this book is part of a series, it can be completely enjoyed as a standalone.

Love a good small town/former tormentor/second chance romance. Especially when you can laugh and cry along with the characters and really feel like you live next door to all the action.

Sweet tale as a start of a new series for this author. History from the past caused our couple to be oil and water...even though the fella realized he had been too tough on her when they were kids. Before She knows it, her heart is warming up to the fella . Sweet romance

I absolutely adored this. It was a wonderful story filled with so much heart and love that completely filled me up. Excellent read!

Fun fact: the cover pulled me in. Seriously how cute is it? Then the synopsis got me because I love tension and animosity between characters so I was really excited about what was to come and I was not disappointed. I loved this so much. Colton and Sara were the best. They were great characters, genuine and hard working and so caring. They had this great antagonism happening that had me smiling and truly enjoyed watching them connect and work through everything. I loved learning their histories and see who they were, who they are, and who they're growing to be. There's a a nice amount of tension and a bit of mild drama but it's really sweetness and fun. It was just so incredibly entertaining as they went through all their ups and downs, I couldn't get enough.

This was so much more than this budding relationship between Colton and Sara. It's about family, friendships, and really connecting and opening up. There were so many amazing details making this one extraordinary story. It was like all the smaller stories woven in were giving the main couple a run for their money because honestly, I loved them just as much. It was all so well thought out. The secondary characters were really wonderful, helping to create some touching and emotional scenes that really pulled at my heart strings.

The story was so wonderful and really liked the build as Colton and Sara come together. It had such a great pace giving me just what I need at just the right time. This was sweet and loving and funny and just full of so much heart. I am so glad the adorable cover caught my eye and I decided to try a new-to-me author. This was just what I needed and I enjoyed every second!

** I have received an Arc for a honest review!! **

I absolutely LOVED this story!!!! So full of entertainment and love! Kept me entertained throughout!

This story is centered in a small town, Angel Falls. This first novel is enemies to lovers.

Dr. Sara Langdon who joins her dads medical practice.

Police Chief Colton Walker is Sara's first patient. These two try their hardest to stay away from one another.

Such an awesome read!! So sweet and loving! Can not wait for her next book in the series!

After a year away, Sara Langdon is moving back to Angel Falls. She's missed her family and friends and she wants to help care for her grandmother who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's, but the dissolution of her wedding after she found her fiance, Tagg, had cheated caused Sara to need some space. Now she's back and ready to work alongside her father at his medical practice. Now, the only thing she has to contend with, besides her return adding to the small-town gossip, is the person she holds responsible for the break-up of her would be marriage: Colton Walker.

Colton has changed a lot since high school when he used to antagonize Sara almost non-stop regardless that she was dating his best friend. And ever since what happened at the bachelor party, he knows that Sara wants nothing to do with him. However, these two can't seem to avoid running into each other, and after a shared kiss one night, they both begin to wonder if the very thing they've been looking for has been right in front of them the whole time.

I really love small town settings in my romances and this enemies-to-lovers story embodies all that is charming in a place where everybody knows everyone else and secrets are hard to keep.

The spark between Sara and Colton was so great, I kinda wished that Miranda Liasson had drawn out the initial animosity between the pair a little bit longer before adding in the unavoidable relationship. I loved the backstory between Colton and Sara and the history they share. The fact that hindsight is always 20/20 and sometimes we remember things differently over time. I liked that there were layers involved in Sara and Colton's interactions, like more going on behind the scenes than either one was aware at the time, and it still resonates ten years later. It goes hand-in-hand - and brings it into perspective - with the idea of Sara's grandmother, diagnosed with Alzheimer's, slowly and sadly losing her memories and not always being able to rely on whether she's speaking from the present or from the past.

The Langdon family is predominantly featured in this book and I was very excited to learn that Gabby would be featured next in her own book [book:The Way You Love Me|40143902].

Overall, I really liked this sweet contemporary romance. I think if you're looking for something light and heartwarming, Then There Was You is perfect. I had never read anything else by Miranda Liasson, but she's now definitely on my list of authors to watch.
