Sarah and Colton have a second chance to rekindle a romance that’s been buried under years of misunderstandings and sharp conversations. This enemies to lovers relationship had its ups and downs, but between their bickering attraction and lightly humorous conversations, Sarah and Colton had me smiling one minute and then wanting to knock heads in the next as they made their way to happy enlightenment! Talk about two stubborn people!
Overall, this was an enjoyable read. I loved the small town charm and close knit family/community ties Liasson has created! An adorably sweet romance with some emotional drama we can all relate to in some way or another, I liked that the drama wasn’t so heavy that it mired the storyline. I am looking forward to further books in this series!

Loved it! The small town, the second chance at romance, the family with its love and faults, the misconceptions, the tears, the laughter, and the reality of it all. I skipped over the sex scenes, but thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the story. I look forward to reading more.

This is the first book in a new series set in Angel Falls, Ohio. It is a second chance love story that made me cry, and want to shake Sara and Colt to get them to talk to each other.
Dr. Serafina Langdon (Sara) is an Ivy League trained physician who has returned to her home town, working with her Dad’s medical practice and helping to take care of her grandmother, Nonna, recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Sara had left Angel Falls for a practice out west after her
fiancé, Tagg, left her at the alter. She blamed his best man, Colton Walker (Colt) for the disaster. Planning to avoid him was impossible when he showed up in the ER her first night on call with a severe laceration that needed stitches. Chief Walker was chasing a suspect under a fence and arrived to the ER with a bloody laceration. Sara felt guilty, but the stitching and Tetanus shot was a little enjoyable.
Colt hated what happened to Sara thanks to his best friend Tagg. He has never told the truth of what happened that night, trying not to hurt her more, he also has been attracted to her since high school. Colt is his sister’s guardian after their parents died, Hannah is a teenager in high school and is the cause of a lot of craziness in his life. Now, there is Sara.
I loved the Sunday family dinners with Nonna, Sara’s two sisters and brother, each with their own stories. But is especially enjoyed the growing love between Sara and Colt.
Ms. Liasson has captured the lost hope and sadness of this terrible disease, and what a difference a life surrounded by family, love and protection can do to make a difference.
I would like to thank Grand Central Publishing and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this very entertaining novel.

This is the story of Sara Langdon and Colton Walker. Sara has moved back home to Angel Falls to spend some time with her grandmother. She is joining her dad's medical practice. She is trying to find herself again after a broken engagement. Colton is the city's police chief. He is a reformed bad boy. He and Sara have never really gotten along. Then an unexpected kiss happens.
I leisurely read this book over a few days. I enjoyed all of it. Family is a big theme in this book. Colton with his grandmother and little sister. Sara working with her father and living with her grandmother. Add in her relationships with her sisters. I liked that this book didn't just focus on the couple, but also on the important people surrounding their lives.
This gorgeous cover is what drew me into reading this book. There is just something about that pop of red that gets me. Then There Was You is my first Miranda Liasson book. I do not think that it will be my last.

Another great story from Miranda. When Sara goes home to help look after her beloved Nonna who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers, she joins her father in his medical practice, also working in the local ER. One of her first patients that night was none other than the man she felt ruined her future. Colton, now the town police chief (and uber hot) but then her fiancée's best men and the one who didn't stop him from sleeping with the party cake girl Val. In fact her ex and Val were still together.
Sara and Tagg had plans; med school, fellowships, a future, family, kids and even dog. That all went to hell and she blamed Colt for every single lousy thing that happened. She went on to finish school, winning a coveted award and had options for a fellowship but when Nonna needed her, she returned home. She tried to pass off Colt's chart that night but it was a no go and she decided to face him.
Colt looked a little scared, but Colt's obnoxious behavior overrode every single thing in the room.
Still an ass with a mouth that never stopped busting Sara's chops you'd think as grown ups and him being the Chief of Police in their small town he'd have learned to shut it but no. Sara got her licks in too, but the two just seemed to live to egg each other on and make each other angry.
There as a lot Sara didn't know about that night of the bachelor party and at some point Colt knew he'd tell her. Question was when. Sara's Nonna loved Colt and both families got along really well.
Sara's brother and Colt were good friends and Colt did his best to take care of everyone in town. It was the small behind the scene things that no one saw that he did that made him such a great person and hard to stay mad at.
It took these two a while to adjust to each other and for Sara to adjust to working with her father.
Then there was a lot of past that Colt had never shared with Sara and she with him that came out.
This story had a lot of side characters and little stories that kept things moving and of course everyone had an opinion. I loved Nona. She was a peach. While her disease was very early onset, there were times when you just had to laugh because she knew darn well what she was doing especially when it came to Colt and Sara.
Toward the end of the story Tagg makes a token appearance, why I don't know. It wasn't necessary to the plot. Seriously it wasn't. The other thing I wished that there wasn't so much time spent on the inner dialogue of the two main characters. It was a tad distracting for me as a reader.
The big question is does all end well for these two? Does Sara take flight to another job as Colt so often feared she would or would she stay? There are a few other loose ends that were left, that I'm sure we'll see in upcoming books and I can't wait.
This was a great read and I'd read it again.

IMG_2891.JPGMy Review of “Then There Was You” by Miranda Liasson Forever(Grand Central Publishing) Publishing Date May 29, 2018
“Then There Was You” by Miranda Liaison is an enjoyable, heartwarming, and endearing story. The Genres for this novel are Women’s Fiction and Romance. The timeline of the story is mostly in the present year and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events.
The author describes the characters as mostly likable , complicated, complex, and each has his/her set of problems. There are some secrets, lies and betrayals that surface. Sarah Langdon , a physician has returned home to Angel Falls to join her father’s practice and help take care of her forgetful grandmother. Sarah doesn’t date much since her wedding had been cancelled the year before.
Colton Walker is the Chief of Police, and has been at odds with Sarah for years. Both Colin and Sarah argue if they see each other. It doesn’t take much to set them off. So why would their family members think they should date?
I appreciate that the author discusses the importance of family and friends, emotional support, love and hope. I also like that the topic of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease is brought up. Also mentioned are the topics of communication and honesty. I would recommend this delightful book for those readers that like Romance and Women’s Fiction. I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

Sarah returns home a year after her fiancée broke her heart. Sparring with the town’s police chief, Colton, was covering up their true feelings for each other. This was much more a romance novel than women’s fiction, less my cup of tea as a genre. However, the book was okay.

I reviewed this for the digital edition of RT Book Reviews June issue. You can see my full review there

In typical fashion, Miranda weaves a wonderful tale of love, passion and humor all into one classic story. The story she weaves feels like a quaint hometown that anyone can just drop into to! I loved seeing the intensity and passion of the main characters but loved even more the doting grandmothers in the story! Love your books!!

Sara is home because her grandmother is sick. She left town the year before after a busted wedding and she blames her exes best friend Colton. Colt has now made himself very at home in her family, with her grandma, brother and friends. So now she is stuck dealing with them.
Sara has always felt ugly, even as she grew up and got engaged so when her fiancee cheats at his bachelor party she blames his best man, Colton. What she doesn't know is Colt has had a thing for her for years. This is very much a hate to love romance and it was done extremely well.
I fell in love with Colton and Sara and would love to read more from this author.

Sara Langdon has her doubts about returning home to Angel Falls, it is a place that holds a lot of hurtful memories that she doesn't really want to drudge up from her past, nor face the man at the center of said memories. But her grandmother has just been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and needs her help, so that takes priority over her painful past. But once she is in town and settled, the man she thought she'd have to worry about doesn't seem as important as the one who wrecked her wedding, her nemesis Colton Walker. Every time she turns around he is lurking, and ready to reek havoc on her life... and maybe her heart too!
Colton Walker knows he is not one of Sara Langdon's favorite people, they have a history riddled with playful torment, arguing, and a incident that ended a wedding... her wedding to be exact. But he is a changed man now, one who is more compassionate, and within minutes of being reunited Sara she takes notice, and the walls between them start to fall away, and the sparks start to fly! But can he really find love with someone who use to belong to his best friend?
Then There Was You is a heartfelt enemies to lovers story that will spawn the feels, curl your toes, and leave you smiling! This was quite an impressive first read, the angsty intense love/hate relationship between Sara and Colton brought on some serious steamy times that had me swooning one moment, and some feisty banter that had me giggling the next. I loved this story and it's wonderfully crafted stars, it pulled me in within the first few sentences, and completely swallowed me up, it was quite the addictive little tale! If you are looking for a small town romance read riddled with humor and heart than I highly recommend you get your hands on this one, it's sure to treat to you to enjoyable time!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed.

A really cute love story!
I'm a sucker for hate to love romances and this one fits the bill. I also enjoyed small town romances and the setting in Then There Was You is just that.
Sara Langdon is back to her hometown of Angel Falls. She's a physician and she has come back home to help with the care of her grandmother who's suffering from dementia. In the meantime, Sara has joined her father's small-town medical practice after training at Columbia.
Sara left town after her engagement dissolved when the groom-to-be, Tagg, sleeps with the "cake girl". Since then, Sara can't eat any type of cake. She blames part of her debacle on Colton Walker, her ex-fiancée's best friend. She has known Colton for a long time. He used to make fun of her when they were teenagers which explain Sara's dislike of him. So when she learns, he's her first patient she has a mini meltdown but in the end, she does her job. Sara might dislike Colton but she's also not blind, he is H.O.T. But nothing can happen there, right?
Colton Bentley Walker is the police chief in Angel Falls. He had a hard time growing up after his parents pass away. He went to live with his grandmother and he had to take care of his younger sister Hannah, He had a lot of responsibilities from a young age and now, as the police chief, his responsibility is even bigger now that the whole town depends on him. Colton is a family man and he knows his behavior as a kid towards Sara was awful, He was a moron but maybe now, they can become friends except his reactions to her are all completely unexpected.
Then There Was You is perfect for someone who enjoys romances in a small town setting. It was engaging from the beginning and above all, sweet and cozy.
I was left wanting to read more books about other interesting characters I liked in this novel. I hope maybe we get a book or two.

➳When destiny has a path fro two individuals that is blocked from being together, but years later are put back together to just be simply inseparable...
➳Not a lot of the time do I encounter upon a novel that is written in the third point of view in which I end up loving. However, with this beautiful romance my mind is set to keep reading more of Miranda Liasson's novel. Her writing is one that at first had me questioning whether I would love the novel or not due to all the drama and "extra" addition being added to the romance novel. But once you keep reading and find out that everything is connected in someway, you start to let you heart in towards the romance of Colton and Sarah. Bot characters have known each other since high school as they both live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and everything every individual does.
➳Colton and Sarah have had opportunities in the past to be together, to express their actual affection towards each other. Fate had something else up their sleeves instead of letting them be together as one. Years later, after graduating to be a doctor, Sarah makes her way back to their small town. That's when she encounters upon Colton, now as a cop and as the most sweetest individual the town has ever met. To me, I find Colton to be just the most amazing "jerk" I have read in a romance novel. Both of them together spark a chemistry that I found soul-soothing to read and love.
➳Overall this was a romance that took a turn of events that I was truly not expecting. From the fireworks scene, to the birthday pie, to the admiration Colton and Sarah have towards each other, every scene is worth reading and is beyond heart-warming. Thank you to the wonderful ladies at ForeverRomance giving me a chance with this novel.

This was my first book by this author, but I now know that it won’t be my last! This was such a cute and fun story. I was pulled in immediately to the story, the characters, and the small town of Angel Falls. The book was told from both Sara and Colton’s point of views, which I really liked. I love being able to get the guys point of view/side of things in a romance book and see how they think and feel about things going on in the relationship. Colton seemed like the perfect guy, I absolutely loved him! A total tough guy with a soft side. Talk about swoon-worthy!
I’m usually not a huge fan of reading books in a series, preferring standalone novels. However, I’ve found myself actually looking forward to reading about other people in this charming small town. I’m hoping there are books coming that are focused on all of Sara’s siblings!
Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley for the advanced copy!

Wow. What can I say but wow. I have read this book twice now and each time it gets better and better. I loved all of the characters, maybe not Tagg, so much and they all just seemed to gel together. The story flowed from the first page and we got to see a beautiful love story play out with hints of pride and prejudice rolled through. It just goes to prove that there is a Mr Darcy out there for everyone. Sara was just about to marry Tagg when a day before he breaks her heart by admitting that he slept with another woman. She goes to work away from home to escape the talk and rumours. Once back home she says with her Nonnie who has Alzheimer's and works at her dad's proactive. The one person she doesn't want to meet is Colton.....the man she blames for Taggs indiscretion. We are also treated to some great one liners from all of the characters especially Nonnie.
From here we are treated to a beautifully written story of coping with a relative with Alzheimer's, trying to find some normal after having your heart broken, trying to be your own person and trying to forgive. We navigate through Sara's story as she tries to mend her heart and forgive Colton for the part she thinks he played in Taggs behaviour. Colton doesn't do relationships and his nickname is revolver. He thinks of nothing but winding Sara up but he cannot forget what his so called friend did to Sara. We are treated to flash backs from Sara and Colton to what happened during various stages of school. I loved this book so much and I really hope there might be more books from Angel falls. Well done on an amazing book which I am sure to read again.

This book was sooo sweet and adorable...seriously, one of the better contemporary romances I have read in this last couple of months. I don't pick up many second chance romance books and I am so glad that I picked this one up.
Sara and Colton are complete opposites and one can't forget that Colton didn't keep Sara's ex-fiancee from cheating on her right before her wedding. But when they are thrown together..in more ones that one, they discover that maybe all this anger and ire aren't really that but something more.
I was sucked into this story and I was sad to leave it when I finished...hopefully the rest of Sara's siblings get a book...I sure hope they do!

This book has one f-bomb and some vaguely described on-screen sex - nothing explicit or vulgar. If those things bother you, they are both easily skipped over here. This book starts a new series but it completely stands alone.
Then There Was You is such a great example of the “enemies to lovers” theme. Sara and Colton's long and storied past was both really interesting, and incredibly realistic. Their story could have been anyone's story. At first, I frowned at Colton's needling of Sara and how it affected her, and I wondered if Ms. Liasson had finally written a male main character that I wasn't going to swoon over, but I really should have known better. As we got to know him, it was became clear that Colton poked at Sara out of a very strong mixture of attraction, affection, and his own insecurities where she was concerned. Watching him battle those things swayed me right into his camp. Couple all of that with the way that he cared for his sister and his grandmother and I was a goner because there are few things as sexy as a man who unashamedly loves and cares for his family. Sara was likable from the beginning of the story, and I found myself really hoping she'd get a scene where she got to punch Tagg (or Valerie, I wasn't at all picky to be honest) square in the mouth. It was so fun to see her grow stronger and get more self-assured as the book went on. While I wanted her to wind up with Colton in their Happily Ever After, I also had no doubt that she would have been just fine on her own. She might have been heartbroken, but she wasn't broken and I loved that. ***SLIGHT SPOILERS TO END OF THIS PARAGRAPH*** I also really appreciated that Ms. Liasson didn't paint the step-mother as a wicked stepmother stereoytpe. Instead Rachel was kind and sweet and motherly without seeming like she was trying too hard. I absolutely adored her.
The story also had tremendous amounts of humor which balanced out the really emotional parts perfectly. Ms. Liasson's ability to infuse her books with both subtle and laugh out loud types of humor remains a tremendous strength and one of my favorite things about her writing style. I highlighted a ton of passages that stood out to me as moments that I wanted to re-read and chuckle at, one or two that made my eyes water, and one that made me cry.
The foreshadowing for Gabby and Rafe's stories was excellent, and I look forward to reading their books.
If you enjoy a fun book that is a great mixture of a kinda-sorta-second-chance romance and an enemies-to-lovers story, you should definitely read this book. And if you're new to Miranda Liasson's writing, this is a fantastic place to start.

I'm a little behind from being both sick and in the hospital, so I apologize ahead of time. Ms. Liasson is one of my top favorite authors. An amazing writer. One of those few, who, I don't think is capable of writing a bad story. I was first attracted to this book by both being written by Ms. Liasson and 2. The unique cover. Then There Was You is the first book in her brand new, Angel Falls series, set in Angel Falls, Ohio.
I loved both the hero and heroine Dr, Serafina 'Sara' Langdon and Cop, Colton 'Colt' Bentley Walker.
I loved the entire Langdon family. Though it did take me some time to warm up to Dr. Langdon Sr. Sara's father. I did though. I really liked the Step Mom, Rachel. I thought she was a sweetheart, and so good for the family. I loved that she wasn't the cliched' horrible Step Mother. This book touches on Alzheimers, with Sarah's Grandma, so their are some heavier moments. But it's perfectly balanced with lightness, humor, and love. I just love this family. One of my favorite things about Colt, was that not only did he help the Langdon's look after Grandma, but he also took care of his own Grandma and teenage sister. Made him even hotter. More likable. I loved his sister Hannah and his Grandma too..I loved every one of Sarah's siblings, and I look forward to them getting their own HEA.

A cute little romance, although I did have to warm up to the hero.

Four stars: A sweet second chance romance with delightful characters.
Sara is hesitant about returning home to Angel Falls. She is happy to be home to help with her grandmother who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, but she isn’t thrilled to be returning to the place where she was left jilted by her fiancé two days before their wedding. Then to make matters worse, she keeps running into Colton Walker, the police chief, who teased her in high school. As Sara settles in, she begins to see that maybe Colton isn’t who she thought he was, but why should she care? Except there was that one hot kiss. Will Sara find a place to put down her roots?
What I Liked:
*Then There Was You is a different kind of second chance romance because there really wasn’t much of a first romance. I was swept up in the romance, and I adored the characters and the setting. This book is oozing with small town charm and it is cute and cozy, just right for summer reading or whenever you want a pick me up.
*I enjoyed the characters. Sara is a fun main character. She is now a successful doctor returning home, but she carries a lot of insecurity. Deep down inside she is still that nerdy teenage girl with glasses. Her confidence falters because the one man she gave her heart to betrayed her horribly. I liked seeing Sara grow and find her way as she established herself in her father’s medical practice and amongst the town. It is a slow journey, but it was well worth the time. Then there is Colton. Colton had a rough childhood, and he wasn’t always the nicest guy in high school. He has gone above and beyond to make up for his past, especially when it comes to the citizens of Angel Falls. Colton is kind, considerate and he looks after everyone. I especially loved getting in his head to see how he really felt about Sara. I also enjoyed many of the secondary characters in Sara’s family like her stepmother, Rachel, her sister, Gaby, and her adorable Nonna. These characters are fun and genuine and they make you feel right at home.
*The romance is one of stops and starts, going all the way back to high school. It is antagonistic at first as Sara believes that she doesn’t like Colton. It takes a long time to take root and even longer to blossom. When it finally reaches its full potential it is so sweet, well worth the wait. I liked that it started out prickly, then moved into a shaky friendship before it took hold.
*I appreciated the focus on family. Both Sara and Colton are deeply devoted to their families. I loved how both of them looked out for their family members and sacrificed for them. There are some wonderful family moments in this one.
*I have to admit, I didn’t like Tagg at all, especially the more I learned about him. I was pleasantly surprised at the end by his nice gesture.
*The ending is lovely. It ends in a good happy place that will leave you smiling.
And The Not So Much:
*I am hoping that there is going to be another book or two with these characters. I was left wanting to see if Rafe, Sara’s brother, would take that step and ask out Sara’s friend. I also wanted to see Gaby find herself a good man.
*I was curious to know more about Sara’s mom who passed away when Sara was a teen. I wanted to know more about what she was like, and how the girls coped with her passing.
*Nonna is adorable. I would love more of her character just because she is so darn cute.
Then There Was You is a charming romance with fun, likable characters, a cozy setting, strong familial bonds and a cute second chance romance. This was an easy read, perfect for when you want a nice, light romance without drama and angst.
