The hardest reviews to write are for books that are just okay. Like this one. For instance, I’ve started and stopped writing this three times…make that four. I knew I was taking a chance when I requested Ace of Hearts. Although Chantal Fernando’s Wind Dragons series had started out strong, by the end the series the books were hit and miss, well…mostly miss for me. I was hoping that a new series would be a fresh start but this one was just…okay.

I loved the idea of a woman who’s been raised in a very conservative lifestyle finding out that her father wasn’t her real Dad. Instead, her Dad is the President of a Motorcycle Club. This kind of fish out of water scenario should have been a slam dunk and it was interesting but I needed more emotions, more descriptions, and more depth. This felt flat to me.

Being mature is fucking hard work.

Part of my problem was that Erin was only twenty one and she acted it. Her immature reactions had me rolling my eyes more than once. She had a lot going on so on some level I understood, but she was all over the place. When I think of her aforementioned quote about being mature is hard work, I can’t help but observe that she needed to work even harder at it.

I liked Ace but everything we found out about him felt like just surface stuff. Other than falling into insta-love with Erin, there was no depth to him. He was alpha, hot, sweet and a bit gruff in a sexy way, but I don’t know what made him tick. I seriously wondered about his willingness to defy the order of Erin being off limits, but a twist at the end had me getting past that…somewhat. The whole scenario was kind of screwed up.

There was an abundance of interesting side characters that I do want to know more about. Erin’s father was a disaster, but I think in a well-meaning way, and some of the other brothers peaked my interest a little.

This would be a decent book to pick up if you are in desperate need of a biker fix and don’t mind a new adult feel to your reads. It does check off a lot of the biker book boxes like a hot sexy biker, a little action, and steamy hanky-panky, but for me at least, it wasn’t quite the stand out I wanted it to be.

Rating: 3 Decent Stars

Loved this MC Romance. The author has given us a wonderful storyline and characters that you can’t help but fall in love with. They are sassy, funny, strong-willed, determined and protective.

The more I read, the more it left me wondering what tone the author was going for. She does a lot of back and forth with the main characters regarding their personality traits. We’re told these bikers are tough and ruthless but we never see them act that way, they’re either talking like immature frat boys or being overly sweet and affectionate. Then there’s Erin, she’s ditzy, sarcastic, smart but naïve, trusting, suspicious, paranoid, aggressive, dominant, and fragile – all rolled into one confusing package. I just didn’t really connect with her. It was like she was a bit of everything but never really shaped up to be her own person.

This also had the typical MC drama. It wasn’t completely safe but it also wasn’t OTT with the unsafe aspects as most biker/MC books are, which I am grateful for.

Would I recommend? I would consider this one safe with exceptions. So if you're looking to venture into the biker/MC romance genre, this one would be a good one to drip your toe into to test out. It was pretty light, not too gritty and the characters aren't too dark.

Ace of Hearts was a great read. I do love a young romance story, especially if it’s in the MC genre. I fell in love with the cover and I knew once I read the blurb that I had to read this one. The story was well written and flowed perfectly and it had my attention from page one until the very last page.

Ace *sigh*, what a hottie! When you think MC hero, you think big bad a*s guy that is tough as nails. That is one of the things I love about Ace, he is tough as nails until it comes to Erin. I love her personality, she is one strong woman. When Erin came across her original birth certificate and realized who the man that was her “real” father was, she went out on a mission. Discovering that her biological father is in a motorcycle club is a shock and a huge adjustment for her. When she walks through the MC doors looking for her father she did not expect sparks to fly with another member of the club, Ace.

This is my first read by Chantal Fernando and will not be my last. Ace of Hearts is the first book in The Cursed Ravens Motorcycle Club. I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book.

I've always liked the way Chantal Fernando writes her MC books, the Wind dragon's was where I first grew to enjoy her writing and that continues here with the Cursed Ravens. The MC members are always charismatic even if they are in a gang or club and interesting backstories.
Here the premise is pretty straightforward in that Erin is thrust in a whole new world when she meets her biological dad.

While she is pronounced off limits to other members her connection to Ace standouts and the chemistry is there. The only question being will they follow orders for what they are feeling or will they hide it in the meantime. It also means Erin learbing the biker way of life and if she can handle it. She maybe new to it all but she can adapt and has a strong will.

I was entertained throughout and I enjoyed seeing Erin find her place add a little suspense too. I will say this is lighter than the usual biker story which is ok for many. The MC embraced Erin as their own and her dad was supportive. She found something with Ace, I liked the members introduced here I can tell they have colorful personalities and looking forward to reading their books.

I really love the way Chantal writes her biker MC books. She writes them in a way that just brings the whole biker world to you! And I really like that! But...
I have to admit that I was a little apprehensive about reading this book. The Wind Dragons MC series is one of my favorites. But having read her Conflict of Interest series and the way she incorporated the WD series into the Conflict of Interest series I was kind scared she would do the same in this book. Bring in members or places that the WD own'ed or would go to.
I wanted a totally new experience with all new characters and places and drama!

And I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised that this book delivered everything that I was expecting! No mention of WD at all!!! And I can only hope that that carries on through throughout this whole series!
Because we get introduced to a whole new set of characters! That I can’t wait to read about!

Gage- president
Rogue- VP
Knuckles- Sergeant at arms (& bestie!!)
Ace- treasurer
Shack
Shovel
Jasper- prospect
Dreads
Celina- Erin’s cousin
Eden- Erin’s sister

I loved how this book started. Erin was a force to be reckon with. She was upset that she had been lied to her whole life and she wanted to make up for lost times. But I don’t think she knew what she was getting herself into once she set foot onto Cursed Ravens property. From that moment on her whole world was turned upside down. She was getting the crash course class on MC life and all the do’s and don’ts. And she loved to give all the men crap about everything. She always voiced her opinion to them. Especially to Ace! Erin was drawn to him the minute she walked through the door and made her presence known.

Ace pretty much was at Erin’s side the whole time she was at the Cursed Raven house. They liked to go back and forth with each other about everything!

“Let’s not pretend what my first impression of you was, Ace. Sitting there in between two women, looking like a pimp on a throne.”

I loved how much everyone in this book was a shit talker. They were all saying things to each other. Always going back and forth! I laughed so many times while reading this book!

I also fell in love with Ace’s characters. There was so messing around with him. He was all in from the beginning! And I loved that!

“It doesn’t matter what happened, or what will happen, princess. You’re mine. And you know what? I’m yours, too. So admit it, and then I can go home and wait for you to come back to me.”

Even though I loved this book. I have to be honest here. I wasn’t feeling what happened to Erin. I wish the drama that went on in this book had to do with club business. It just felt to me a little out of place and so out of the blue. Maybe a little drama from their rivals The Devil’s Gate. But overall everything else was perfect... to me anyway’s.

I can’t wait to read Knuckles story next!!! I really liked him in this book! But I’m really looking forward to reading Rogue’s story!!! Hopefully Gage gets a story too!

"I wish your personality was as nice as your ass."

I'm a big fan of the author's Wind Dragons MC series so needless to say seeing that she was starting a new MC series had me very excited. I really enjoyed this lighthearted story. Yes, you read it right, this isn't one of her deep, dark, twisted stories with damaged characters. This is told in Erin's POV, so we only get her take on things. She's a 21 yr old good girl who just learned the man she was raised to call Dad was actually her stepfather. She accidentally discovered her birth certificate and saw an unfamiliar name listed as her biological father. When she confronts her mother, she learns he's a biker.

So, get ready to be entertained by the good-girl-gone-bad as she is exposed to the motorcycle club lifestyle. Don't get me wrong, she's not timid or quiet. She's sassy and without a filter. I found it hilarious that she kept speaking her thoughts out loud without realizing it until someone would answer her. She's always kinda felt like the black sheep of her family and it becomes more understandable after she meets her father, the president of The Cursed Ravens MC. It explains why she is so different from her sister in both appearance and attitude.

Seeing the club members through her eyes as she tries to figure things out is fun. She pretty much became the club princess as soon as she stepped foot through the clubhouse doors. And that doesn't exactly go over so well with the other females who don't want the competition. After being deprived of her father's attention for her whole life, she's not happy about having to share him with other women. And when she looks across the room and sees Ace for the first time, with a club whore on either side, she doesn't like that either. At that point, she doesn't even know his name, but he has her attention.

Ace knew that she was trouble with that first look. But what he wasn't expecting was to learn that she was the daughter of his president and off-limits. As we all know, being told something is forbidden makes it that much more tempting, right? Get ready for some serious sexual tension as these two lust after each other. Her internal dialogue was priceless, and one of my favorites was, "He used the word respect, but all I want is some fuckin' disrespect from him right now. Until we leave the bed, at least, then I can go back to being his princess." Will they risk the wrath of the president to be together?

Woo Hoo! Meeting this new club of badass bikers was a treat. The witty banter was non-stop and Erin joined right in with them. I couldn't stop smiling as I read their encounters. As always with the beginning of a new series, the author has to lay the groundwork and let us get to know the characters. I fell hard for most of those sexy bikers and can't wait to spend more time with them. The line forms here...

So I know that I’m a day late in posting the review. Baseball is taking over my life right now. The kid made all-stars and hubs is the coach. But still, that’s no excuse. Before I tell you how much I LOVED this book, I need to make a confession. Actually, a few.

I’m an MC virgin. Shut up. Seriously. I don’t read the books but with my girl Chantal writing, I knew that she would treat me right.
I’m glad that my cherry is popped. That said, it might take some convincing for me to read anyone else’s MC stories.
How knew that an MC book would be hilarious, smart and completely relatable. Yes, relatable.
Why is the book relatable? Erin is NO pushover. Sure finding out that your biological dad is a president of an MC club and that your mother has lied to you seems far fetched but really? Not so much. Okay, maybe the MC part but finding out that you are adopted, etc. isn’t that uncommon anymore. I loved how Ms. Fernando handled it. Gage and her mom didn’t take it well in the beginning and Erin just didn’t know what to think when she walked into the house but dang…that was a great first impression. In fact, I would have to say that the scenes with Erin in the house at the beginning of the book are what sold me on the story and the whole series. Truly. But I have a confession to make, I love Ms. Fernando. I devoured her Lawyers series so I took a chance with this one.

Ace is filthy (in a good way) and Erin is pure. Darkness to the light but in my opinion, Ace isn’t that dark. In fact, I thought he was adorable. He isn’t the bad*ss biker that he thinks he is. In fact, Rogue, Knuckles, Gage (Erin’s dad) and Ace are just sweeties in my book. In the beginning, their personas are for us to see but deep down, they all have hearts of gold. What I really liked about this world, is that Ms. Fernando doesn’t go into much at all. We hear what they do for money and what price you might pay for being there but the Ravens are just a big family that has issues like everyone else. I especially liked the ending of the book when things are revealed to us about certain members and honestly, I don’t think we have seen the last of them. I hope not because they could cause so serious headaches later. Always, what up with Erin’s dormmate Clover? I think that she is somehow connected to them.

One of the reasons why I have stayed away from MC books is the violence and sex. I know, shake your head at me. But really? Do they need to have smexy times within the first 25% of the book? I loved how Ace and Erin really got to know each other with just kissing and teasing. Makes the buildup that much sweeter and hotter. Trust me, when these two start, they don’t stop and its hawt. Ms. Fernado does that with her characters. We get to know them, appreciate them and invest our time with them before. Also, she doesn’t drag out the black moment/conflict. While it’s not easy for Erin and Ace to get to the end, Ms. Fernando doesn’t do angst. Her characters are grownups and let them behave as such.

Erin is probably my favorite heroine that she has written. I just loved her. Ace…is definitely swoon-worthy but he is also a man in love for the first and last time and doesn’t know what to do. Nor does he want to piss off her dad, his president. Makes for great conflict but also some truly sassy, snarky and relatable moments with them and the other members.

I can.not wait for Knuckles and Rogue’s books. We are in for a sweet treat. And thank you Ms. Fernando for the great intro into the world of MC. And yes, I do have some of her other MC series books but I’ve been too scared to read them. Not anymore.

The Cursed Ravens are every bit rough and ready....and then in walks princess Erin to find her dad who doesnt even know she exists.....can only spell trouble and in various forms!

And so begins the story of Erin, her new family and the great whodunnit mystery...and a love interest thrown in!

Ace: 'I wasn’t expecting you.' Gaaah I want him to say this to me!

Erin did grate on my nerves a bit, she was very jealous from the start but I skimmed over these thoughts as it's bloody Chantal Fernando! But I did love her made up reasons how they got their roadnames...it's what I'd do!

Was a great read, I do love an MC read! And I have a clear favourite so everyone can back off...Rogue!

I really enjoyed this book and I am surprised that I have never read this author before and that my friends changed today and am adding her to my will read pile..We meet Erin who finds out that the man that has raised her is not her real father, her real father is Gage President of a biker gang only she didn't know he was the president. Erin sets out to meet him and finds herself in a wild party something she is not really used this whole life is so different than hers. However when Gage meets her he wants to get to know her and she agrees. He has warned all his men that she is off-limits which she is not crazy about since she has her eye on Ace and vice versa. Does he ignore feelings? Well please read and find out, you wiont be disappointed! Enjoy!!

Ace of Hearts was a book with lots of sexy moments, humor, and hot men...what else could you want in a book?!

The main character, Erin, was a snarky queen who never backed down from a fight. She was a woman who wasn't afraid to speak her mind and stand up for what she believed in. Even though she was a tough lady, she also had vulnerabilities. The author was great at showing that even the toughest people have moments when they are scared or unsure of what to do. It made Erin feel even more relatable and human. There were times when I wanted to smack Erin's head because she was being immature or didn't think things through, but it did always make her seem more realistic.

Ace was not what I was expecting from a leading man in MC book and I LOVED THAT. Ace wasn't the typical womanizer that most men are in MC books. Ace was actually very kind and thoughtful, which was showcased a lot in this book. He wasn't AS present in this book as Erin was, so there were times when I was hoping to learn a little bit more about him. I found myself really craving his perspective in some moments because there were times when I questioned his motivations and feelings. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will be prevalent in the other books in this series so we can learn even more about him.

The author is great at creating lovable characters with insane physical and emotional chemistry, which was exemplified in this book. The romance in this book was STEAMY y'all and I was so into it! There were tons of sexually charged moments that made me want to fan myself off! There were a few times when I wanted the book to focus a little more on plot development and not sexy time, but I still enjoyed all of the sexy time moments!

Overall, this was a fun and light book full of romance and humor! If you are a fan of motorcycle club romances, then I recommend checking this book out!

Terrific start to a sexy new MC series. Great storyline with interesting, likable characters. Erin goes in search of her real dad and lands in a less-than-safe world. But she’s strong and feisty enough to handle it. Ace is the man! The sexy hot alpha biker will leave you melting and swooning. He’s right there for Erin every time. Loved all the MC guys. Can’t wait for the next story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC and bought the book.

I would like to thank Netgalley and Pocket Star for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I haven’t read a MC book in a while so I was pretty happy to get my hands on this one. I am new to this author and I loved that I was able to get this book at the beginning of the series. I would like to read some more of her work in the future.

So on to my review. I really liked the premise of this book and was hooked on the story line. Erin finds out she has been lied to her whole life and sets off to find her biological father who happens to be president of the Cursed Ravens MC. Her dad is blindsided with a new daughter he had no clue about and becomes super protective and orders his men to stay away from her. Then her some Ace, the MC treasure….no need for me to tell you what happens next. I really liked Erin; she is brave, kind hearted, sassy, and sweet all in one. Ace of course is biker in hott demand.

What I had a hard time with in this book is that Erin for being as sweet and innocent as she portrayed seemed to move a little fast in her relationship with Ace. It felt like they had just known each other for days in the timeline and the “I love you’s.” were flying around. I also didn’t like how she was with her mom and step dad Brock. I think she went a little overboard in her treatment of them not telling her sooner that Brock was not her biological father.

Those who like a good MC story will want to read this. It’s a pretty easy and fast paced read. This did get a little heated and descriptive at times so I’m not sure if this is a warning for those who are not into that kind of thing or an endorsement. Happy Reading!!!

Having read a couple of this author's novels in a different flair I wanted to try it in MC. The characters grab you right away with their story. Erin will find a different road than the one she thought of when truth comes out. As it happens in the MC world there are those you gravitate towards and Ace is the one in this that will be front and center. Even though she is pres daughter that makes no difference when you have your own mind. Filled with heat and passion that will stir the emotions with not letting up you will be caught in this opener for this series.

This is the first book in a new MC series and my first read of this author. She wastes no time in pushing us right into a party in the clubhouse as innocent Erin walks right in and demands to see her biological father. What follows is a lot so sass, some super sweet moments and underlying sizzle that will make you sit u p and take notice.

Ace is assigned to protection detail for the Prez's newly found daughter with a NO TOUCH edict. Unfortunately, the attraction between them makes staying away impossible. Would have liked to see some chapters in Ace's voice, just to see what was rolling around in his head. Loved Erin, though. Even if the clubhouse was not as she expected, her adventure was well though out. She gets in over her head but Ace is able to show her reason.

Loved the little bit of action/adventure we get. Really like the secondary characters. Loved the ease at which Erin and Gage came to an understanding about each other. Looking forward to getting to know more of the MC as the series progresses, Great first book all around!

I really enjoyed this entertaining and engaging MC romance. I thought Erin and Ace were perfect together. She is feisty, strong and courageous. Ace is loyal, protective and an alpha male. Loved the attraction, chemistry and deep emotions that that sparked between these two. Add in some drama, suspense, humor and passion and you have a very pleasurable reading experience.

This is the first book in a new series about an MC. Erin learns that her father is not the man who raised her, but the president of The Cursed Ravens. She meets Ace, an older sexy man through the club. I loved Ace, he is an alpha male. Erin has a lot of growing up to do. All in all a good read. I plan on reading the next book in the series.

I received a copy of this book via Netgalley and am leaving a review.

This author never fails to deliver a good story. Erin had the perfect childhood. Her idyllic life was about to change.A big secret is revealed. After finding out some unexpected things about her life, Erin takes a journey. What a ride. She finds out things she never knew, enjoyed things she never would have attempted and at the end of it all, she found love. Great beginning to what I expect will be another great series.

Ace of Hearts is book one in Chantal Fernando’s Cursed Ravens MC series. While it was a fun read, it didn’t offer more than the usual MC fare.

Erin wants to find her dad and armed with her birth certificate goes to find him. Only he’s president of The Cursed Ravens MC, and the world is unlike any she has ever known. And then there’s Ace who is off limits. But is there a way around her father’s decrees?

The most refreshing aspect was how Erin's initial meeting with her father goes. I was prepared for the denial--do you just want money from me--stage, and instead, we get a positive experience! I loved this. It offered a new twist and exceeded my expectations right out of the gate. Then it just got...a little cliched. It didn't offer anything new. Erin was a bit too immature throughout, and I never really warmed up to Ace as the hero either. On the plus side, it’s relatively low angst, and I enjoyed that aspect of it.

If you’re looking for an MC romance that has good banter and is relatively light then I think you’ll enjoy this one.

3 stars!

The characters are sassy and heartfelt, and just when you think you have the story figured out...you find out, you don't! Of course that just makes you come back for more! Loved this story and look forward to the rest of the series!
