This was a wonderful book. The book was about a sheep that could not get to sleep. The sheep asked all his friends but was still unable to get any help. This is a great with rhyming and a good storyline that can keep the children entertained throughout the story.

What a wonderful bedtime story for little ones. Woolly the sheep is having trouble falling asleep. He is tired but just can't doze off. He seeks the advice from his barnyard friends Hattie the hen, Sally the spider, Bertie the Bull, Connie the Cow and Kitty the cat. All of them give him the same advise, count sheep. Granddaddy Ram tells him to try the advise of his friends and it goes from there. This a cute rhyming book which will hold a child's interest and the illustrations are fun and well done. I recommend this book for 2-5 year olds.

Haha! Woolly the sheep can't sleep. Unfortunately, all his friends tell him they count sheep when they can't sleep, but he doesn't want those answers. But then, his grandpa has a solution that sends him to dreamland!

The illustrations were very well done!

This is a sweet little bedtime story about a sleepy sheep that cannot sleep. There is some good repetition throughout, and for the most part the rhyming scheme is smooth. There are a few places that it feels clunky or awkward but overall it's fine.

The illustrations are beautiful, soft colours and pleasing to the eye.

Thank you to #NetGalley, the publisher and the author for an advance e-copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

What a cute story! The rhyme scheme occasionally tripped me up but, overall, I enjoyed this fun and sweet story of a little sheep who had trouble getting to sleep. The illustrations are lush and ethereal with sweeping warm colours; and the cast of supporting characters are fun and charming.

The illustrations are a perfect match for the text -- kids will be able to pick up on how exhausted Woolly is when every other sheep is fast asleep.

As he polls the farm animals on how they fall asleep, he senses a theme: they all count sheep. But will the same technique work for him? This is a sweet, playful story, and the rhyming text is a treat for parents to read and will engage children's attentions (but hopefully only as long as the book lasts, after which parents will wish them to follow in the footsteps of all the sleeping animals).

First let me Thank Netgalley for this digital copy. This is such a cute book. Woolly can't fall asleep so he asks all his friends how they go to sleep. The story is so sweet and the illustrations are amazing. Love the watercolors. I definitely recommend this book to everyone of all ages.

Woolly The Wide Awake Sheep is a delightful book from cover to cover, so much so, that I have read it three times already! Jake Tebbit, author and illustrator has created the perfect book for afternoon reading with its rhyming sentences, kind barnyard animals willing to offer helpful hints on how to fall asleep (Sally The Spider counts her knees), the drawings are not too detailed, but simply drawn and done in watercolors, a perfect balance of a calming story and illustrations. For a bed time story, Woolly, The Wide Awake Sheep, is certain to be one that brings calm to adult and child as Woolly talks to Bertie the Bull to finally Granddaddy Ram, each a kind animal that offers advice on the perfect way to fall asleep, which surprisingly has something to do with sheep! If you have enjoyed books by Helen Oxbury or Sandra Boynton over the years, you will enjoy introducing this book to a little person in your life. Woolly, I believe, is a nice book for a wide span of ages and I would guess that by the time a child outgrows this book, most pages will be quite worn!

This is a cute bedtime story about a sheep that can not fall asleep. He asks his friends on the farm and they tell him when they can't fall asleep they count sheep. Hmmm, how will a sheep count sheep to fall asleep. Beautiful illustrations accompany this story that also incorporates simple counting.

This was a cute story about Woolly the sheep, who just couldn't sleep. Woolly comes across some lovable character in his quest to help him sleep, and it touches on the idioms of "Counting Sheep". The story was done well, but the illustrations were what really make this book stand out. The vibrant colors, and adorable pictures really drew me in. I can totally see this being the perfect bed time story... especially if your little one isn't one to easily fall asleep.

Overall I like the story and love the vibrant watercolor illustrations. The book has a nice sing song rhyme pattern that is more nursery rhyme than not. But it is glaringly obvious when the rhyming pattern falls, which it does about 3-4 times.

I thought this was a sweet book and I liked the illustrations but the fluctuating rhyme scheme made reading it aloud difficult.
