What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.

While the cover threw me off, the plot of the book made me want to read ASAP, I have always like the long conspiracy plots that take you through twists and turns. That was not the case for this book. Although I did enjoy reading this book, I was mostly invested in Suzanne’s life since more than half the book was her life and upbringing, it wasn’t until later on that I remembered “Oh yeah Suzanne is part of the plot to seduce the president”. Perhaps I have read too many mystery novels and watched to many shows but I did see the ending coming, which is to necessarily a bad thing as long as one enjoys the story along the way and I did. I found the story to be interesting and sexy without it being overdone, no super descriptive sex scenes that we read now in YA fiction which is something I appreciated and was not expecting considering Suzanne’s career choice. I wish we could see more plot development with the conspiracy, the ending was rushed and wrapped up too quickly, it felt more like a summary.

Thanks to Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review

How to get a man out of the presidency when you do not agree with him. Sex and politics seem to go together but how can you make it something that will cause a problem for the president? Make sure he gets caught in bed with his sister-in-law. The man who it looks like will win has a single younger brother. There is a group of people with money to spend who can pay to set this up. Suzanne is a call girl (escort) in DC who can always use money. The story is told in an interesting way to get you to the point the plan is working toward.

When I started the book I found the concept rather funny. The general public doesn't seem to care who the president sleeps with anymore. But the book is actually a good read. How she goes from a 10 year old to call girl to getting into the president's family was a real twist of a tale. I enjoyed the book.

An engaging story, well written. I could not put it down.
Characters well drawn, their motivations, etc. The only place i can criticize is in dealing with emotions. Both in angry scenes and erotic ones the author has left so much out. The reader doesnt FEEL the anger, frustration, love, lust, etc.
The book did wrap up suddenly and to my mind, too easily. Still, i did read it all the way through.

When I was finally able to pick up this book to read, I couldn't put it down till i finished it. It was a well written book and a political thriller. The main character, Suzanne was such an interesting person. She was a survivor of a horrible childhood from a her abusive father who raped her., Her mother saves her, but this event impacted her so that in her adult life the choices she makes are all based on what happened to her. She has a tainted view of men and thus eventually becomes a call girl for a high end escort service. She feels this is her way of getting back at what she endured as a youngster. She is also very beautiful. Eventually, she is approached by a customer, who really doesn't know the main players behind this conspiracy but is given $50,000.00 dollars to approach Suzanne. The plan is for Suzanne to get the brother of the upcoming election for the presidency of the US. to marry her. Once she accomplishes this, then she is to seduce the President, who is not president yet but these people are sure he will win the election which he does. Once she seduces him, this will become public knowledge and hopefully get him out of office. This group of people are very adamant about his policies and want him out of office. She is offered a million dollars. After much deliberation, she accepts the offer. I enjoyed this book very much and had some wild twists at the end but I do not want to give away spoilers. Again, this was a great read.

I'm afraid I wasn't able to finish this book. It was very hard to read, hard to follow and just really didn't keep me engaged.

This book could be ripped from the headlines. It is a fast paced book with twists and turns and a little romance thrown in. It keeps your attention throughout the entire story. I look forward to more from this author.

There was much going on in this book and not in a good way. We learn early on that our protagonist, Suzanne, had been brutally attacked in the first chapter, how beautiful she was, how men couldn't keep their hands or eyes off of her...in the first chapter. And in every chapter after that. We got it on one, thanks!

I had to put this down several times because I just could not get into it. I'm a completist so I finished it up. There's conspiracy, assault, love, sex, it was all over the place. The best friend is described as a sister figure, but yet Suzanne has sex with her. She falls in love with a man and claims living as a call girl helped her to overcome her trauma and care about men...WHAT!!!

The ending was wrapped up in a pretty little bow, very quickly, not convincingly. Way too pat and not satisfying. Storytelling is about creating an atmosphere and growing with your characters, taking a journey with them. I didn't even want to be on the same sidewalk.

I gave it two stars due to being jolted back into reality again and again. Being told instead of shown. It wanted to be edgy and then was dull.

A gritty read with enough detail to satisfy the harshest critic, this book has it all; sex, politics and suspense. Well written and clearly thoroughly researched, this book is a must have for fans of realism with a hint of dram and undertones of a twisted sense of humour. This book contains believable characters and twists and turns galore, progressing in directions not expected from the first few chapters. The book description gives away enough to hook the reader, the book itself will have you looking for more by MR Morgan.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. The premise of the book is that they want to control the next President of the US by having an escort marry his brother. First they want to assissinate him, then they want to be able to blackmail him. I just can’t read this one. I got about 20% into this one and just can’t do anymore.

Sister-In-Law by M.R. Morgan was a better read than I thought. After being raped by someone who is suppose to love, look out for, and above all, protect you. Suzanne Dahlstorm found out the hard way, that even blood will betray you. As Suzanne grows up, her beauty makes her more enchanting, enticing, and she learns to use it for her advantage. One day Suzanne is approached by one of her regulars, "How would you like to make one million dollars, cash?" All she had to do is become the sister-in-law to the next would be President of the United States. Seems simple enough, but things are not just that simple. A very intriguing ripped from the headlines story, fast paced, kept me reading. I truly felt for Suzanne and Adam McNeil.
Thank you M.R. Morgan for writing an unique, captivating, and one that kept me on the edge of my seat.

While I liked the premise of this book -a long game conspiracy to take down the man certain to be the next president, it fell short for me. The action and set-up in the beginning definitely grabbed my interest quickly, but then the story turned and went back and told the ENTIRE story of Suzanne's life and that was WWWWAAAYYYY too much and too long. By the time the story makes its way back to present day, you've forgotten what had happened in the first place.

I did like the way the story was narrated though. Written in third person, for me it felt like a story that has a narrator leading you through with the occasional scene being played out by our characters.

I would have enjoyed more depth around the conspiracy and the players and Adam's feelings once all is revealed. Once we got to that point, the story felt rushed and wrapped up way too quickly.

I requested this book on Net Galley to review based on this line: If you’re a fan of J. D. Robb, Sandra Brown, or most any romantic suspense author, you’ll fall in love with Suzanne and find yourself unable to put her story down until the final, surprising twist.

This book was nothing like J.D. Robb or Sandra Brown.

I couldn't finish it.

This book was an easy read that was hard to put down. The author did an amazing job developing the characters and taking an interesting twist to pull this book off was sad when it was over.

An abused child grows into a beautiful woman, but burning with an obsession for revenge on all men. She uses her beauty to get what she wants, without a care to anyone else’s feelings, usually. She’s recruited into a sinister plan to take down the President of the United States by the {NRA}, but finds herself falling in love.
Speaking in digital terms, the first 10% of this story is just setup; takes that long for the protagonist to be introduced. It’s followed by a long description of the physical and psychological problems she faced growing up. It’s a long flashback to the present, which basically explains her approach to sex and business once we get there. This lasts till 27%, which means it’s over a ¼ done before the story actually starts.
I liked the writing, with plenty of funny stuff. The problem is the pacing; almost halfway through and it’s still not at the main plot so glaringly told in the publicity blurb. Not that her life story is boring, but every once in a while I wish it’d moved on. If there’s one thing I didn’t like about the writing, it’s the clunky foreshadowing at the end of each chapter; not necessary.
The thing with Craig was a little obvious, but a good touch, not unexpected considering the people she was dealing with. I didn’t think I would like the letters to her BFF, but they really helped to make her sympathetic. After starting as a woman intent on revenge, she mellowed nicely, coming across as more human.
The book takes quite an unexpected turn right before the end, something I would have never imagined from the main character. I’m not sure I’d call it believable, but it was well done. But right after that there’s another twist, and I found her decision on that one not credible at all. I have no idea how I feel about the ending and its aftermath, at once noble and yet all the more upsetting. I have some sympathy for her, but not as much as her story would want from me. Also, I am officially saying this is not an erotica as advertised. The sex scenes are truncated, hardly even foreplay.
Although it was for the most part nicely written, as mentioned above, there were moments when I felt like this was a beginning writer, and in the author page I saw I was right. A great first effort, but not as great as it could have been.

What an engaging read, the lead characters have such strong personalities. Lloyd with his greed and desperation for money, Suzanne's did trust for men and then her 'fall from that' as she falls for the complete opposite of what she knows and has to struggle with the dramatic aftermath of the plan she signs up for. Marguerite's sensuality and supportiveness make her a great secondary character.
It is a great story that flies together nicely ending with a dramatic climax that makes you gasp.
