It is always interesting starting a new series, and Ms. Foster has not disappointed here. This book opens with Phoenix arriving at Cooper’s Charm to take over as the groundskeeper. That’s when you meet Cooper, owner and boss at Cooper’s Charm. You also get to know some interesting secondary (at least in this story) characters in the Cooper’s Charm “neighborhood.”

Phoenix and Cooper both have troubled pasts, with Phoenix being assaulted and Cooper losing his wife. I enjoyed reading about their chemistry and the way their relationship developed at a more sedate rate.

Providing the perfect backstop to their story is the bustling “neighborhood” of Cooper’s Charm. You get to know the other employees and even Phoenix’s sister Ridley as part of the story–and she has a nice little subplot too. Add in a little dash of suspense, and you have an enjoyable read that will have you wanting to go camping! I can’t wait to see what is coming next from Cooper’s Charm.

Once I started it I could not put it down until I was finished. This story is about a 25 year old woman named Phoenix who has had a hard time 6 months ago. She is looking for a fresh start at her new job working as the grounds person at Cooper's Charm. Her boss is Cooper. From the first time they meet there is an instant attraction. They try fighting it at first but that gets them nowhere. You find out along the way what happened to Copper's wife and what happened to Phoenix to make them who they are. You will instantly fall in love with the workers at Cooper's Charm. When Ridley, Phoenix's sister comes to visit she adds a bit of comic relief for everyone there along with another romance added to the mix. Cooper and Phoenix save a sweet dog from being abused by three men by a creek and they take it in. She ends up being a lifesaver in the story several times. This is another great summer read by Lori Foster!

It's been a minute since I've read Lori Foster (she's one of my OG faves) and it was nice being back in one of her worlds. There was a lot of trauma with all of the characters but they all worked it out thanks to sisterhood, friendship, dog ownership, new jobs, love, and of course - spectacular sex. 3 out of 5 wine glasses.

"Charm" is the operative word in this lovely book about the power of healing. Well-written, it is filled with characters that are engaging and real. A perfect book to read on a Sunday afternoon!

COOPER’S CHARM, the first book in the SUMMER RESORT series, has darkness overshadowing it, but there are playful parts as well. Phoenix is running away from her past where she was attacked and hurt. Her attackers haven’t been found, and she ends up getting a job at the summer resort as a landscaper. She and the owner of the resort, Coop, are kindred spirits in that a crime was also committed against someone he loved. As a result, he becomes quite protective of Phoenix. Her sister has her own troubles and ends up unexpectedly at the resort too. There are plenty of secrets that we learn about a little at a time.

Coop has a nice group of people working for him and, when Phoenix and then her sister, Ridley, get added to the mix, things get a whole lot more fun. Daron is a jokester and the handyman/maintenance guy, Baxter is the scuba instructor, Maris runs the camp store, and Joy is the entertainment director. They all help out where needed and get along well. Their interactions add some playfulness to the story.

The story is filled with family and friends, the resort, and some crime solving. Coop and Phoenix’s rescue dog, Sugar, was a delight.

The characters have a depth to them but hold back their feelings in many cases. There are twists and turns to the story, but they meld nicely. There are a happily-ever-after or two, which give closure, yet the story still has enough loose ends to bring us back to the series again and again.

Foster is one of my go-to romance authors, but I haven’t read any of her books in a while until COOPER’S CHARM. I hope to rectify that soon.

I rated the book 4.5 stars but rounded to 5 stars here and on other sites.

This was a fun and heartfelt read. I want to make it clear that overall I did enjoy it. I like how Foster can create the small town feel in her books and I love the community within the world of Cooper's Charm. I just wish it wasn't a two for one book. If Foster had just concentrated on one of the relationships instead of squeezing in a second romantic story line I think I would have enjoyed this more. I wanted more detail and focus on fleshing out the relationships in the book. Also, there needed to be room in the story for more character development and backstory. I think pairing Phoenix and Ridley's story together really robbed the reader of that. They each deserved their own story. Because of this I could not give it five stars. I really hope the rest of the series is not set up this way.

Cooper's Charm will bring two sisters back to their self again.
Cooper's Charm starts off with Phoenix moving to a new town. Phoenix needs a new start desperately. She has been through a lot lately. And I definitely understand that she needs a new start. Nothing wrong with it. She needs it and she knows it when she settle into the new town. She gets to finally discover who she is again. It's so refreshing that she is able to be herself. And she also get a love interest, Copper.
While Phoenix move into the new town, Phoenix sister, Ridley comes to visit. Ridley is also in the need in rediscovering her self again since she is still little bitter about her divorce. She wants to have fun time while she visits her sister. But she will discover what missing in her life that will be unexpected and most giving.
Cooper's Charm will bring out the charm in the Rose sister ever before.
3 1/2 Stars

This was such a wonderfully charming, feel-good romance and quintessential beach read, Cooper’s Charm is a definite winner. You get two romances for the price of one here; with both Rose sisters finding their individual roads to a HEA.
Phoenix Rose has come to Cooper’s Charm a shell of a woman she once was. After an armed robbery and assault leaves her a shattered, she comes to this charming little lakeside resort to find herself again. The last thing she expects is to find herself falling for the resort’s broody owner. Cooper is reeling from a loss of his own. But the more he gets to know Phoenix, the more he realizes that he didn’t lose his heart.
Following her sister to make sure she’s ok, Ridley is dealing with issues of her own. After a bitter divorce leaves her cynical but filthy rich, she’s not looking to find a meaningful relationship, but she’s not opposed to some hot sex. Little does she know that she’ll find something much more with the local sexy Scuba Instructor.
The two relationships develop in interchanging POVs; you get Phoenix, Cooper, Ridley, and Baxter. There’s also a small suspense subplot that’s added in. This was a sweet contemporary romance that could have held quite strongly on its own. I really didn’t feel the suspense piece add much to the story, at least not for me. That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy the book, because I definitely did. It was a cute and steamy read that delivered on two highly satisfying HEAs. If you’re looking for a light-hearted and sweet romance that’s low on angst but with plenty of charm, you can’t go wrong with this one.

Phoenix has been hiding out for the past year since she was attacked and has healed enough to want a new start. Using her talents in landscaping she applies for a position at a campground. She and Cooper have an instant connection and more in common than they may realize. Although Cooper is aware of much of Phoenix's history due to a background check prior to hiring her, she has to learn all about his past. Together they help each other come to grips with the past and move on to a new future. We even get to meet Phoenix's sister who may well get her own new start! Wonderful story and characters! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.

What a wonderful beginning to a new series!

Two sisters who are trying to get over past traumas both end up in the same quaint RV park and find more than they bargained for.

This book has so many things; a sisterly bond that is like no other; overcoming grief; regaining self confidence after being crippled by fear and even some new mystery and suspense thrown in to bring it all full circle!

Can't wait to read the next book. I would love to be able to hang out in a place like Cooper's Charm!

Traveling With T’s Thoughts:

I’d never read a Lori Foster book before but remember some of her previous covers (think a steamy, sexy man that had a very manly career) and was usually hesitant to try them because I like my romances with a heavy dash of sweetness.

However, after I was approached about this book and I saw the cover (how can you NOT love this cover?!) I thought I’d give Lori a try.

What I liked:

The cover. So cute. So charming.

The sisters. Phoenix and Ridley have both had reasons to stick their heads in the sand and let life pass them by. But both are ready to move on from their problems and have some fun. LOVE.

The setting. I could totally visualize the type of place that Lori was writing about. It was a cute vacation place and one that I wish I could really visit.

Bottom line: A really cute book. Perhaps a touch steamier of a romance than what the cover would lead you to believe- but very readable. I look forward to seeing what happens next in this fictional world that Lori Foster has created.

I read this book as part of the Brenda Novak Book club and loved! I am still wondering why some of my reviews here are not showing. I already gave this book an awesome review.

I love Lori Foster's writing! She always writes a story that captures you and doesn't let go until the end.  The story an d world building is always very well-developed. Phoenix comes to Cooper's Charm to take a job, that will hopefully help her to get her life back together after a burglary shattered her confidence.  Cooper and Phoenix gets closer and the chemistry is hot. They end up adopting a stray dog together. Phoenix's sister comes to visit and agrees to take the housekeeping position. A stalker shows up and starts to make Phoenix's life hell, but with Cooper's help she won't let it destroy her again. This was such a wonderful book to read. I give
Cooper's Charm 5/5 stars.

I devoured this book! Lori Foster always delivers the goods! And let me tell you, Cooper's Charm is full of all the feels!
Phoenix captured my heart with her determination and spunk. I love a strong heroine and this woman is the definition of fight for what you want.
Cooper broke my heart a little with his story.
Together Cooper and Phoenix were smoking hot.
This book has it all.
I enjoyed the secondary story too. Baxter and Ridley made me giggle. And don't even get me started on the critter, can anyone say Awwww.
There's heat, intrigue, a bit of a twist and giggles to be had inside the pages of this book.
Don't miss out on the beginning of what I'm sure is going to be a great series!
Thank you Lori Foster for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Cooper's Charm is full of all the feels and charm that you could ask for.  The characters are entertaining, with just a touch of troubles to keep you reading.

Phoenix is at the little resort to take some time to herself and recover from a traumatic experience.  She's definitely not expecting to be attracted to her new boss, especially a man who is working to overcome his own past.  The timing may not be the best but these two troubled hearts may just be what each other needs.

Ridley is only at Cooper's Charm to make sure that her sister is OK.  Coming out of a bitter divorce she's definitely not interested in getting involved again either.  How do you think that works out?

I loved these people - they are complex and their interactions kept me entertained.  I found myself cheering for them all as they work through their issues and move toward really living in the world again.

Foster is definitely one of today's most popular romance author's, with everything from sports romances to romantic suspenses, but I have to admit that her contemporary romances are my favorite.  She's just got such a wonderful way about crafting her characters and I always get so involved in their lives.  I'm definitely looking forward to what she has in store next at the summer resort.

Everything about this book is right, from the setting to the characters, to the story line. The love scenes are just the right amount of spicy. There is a great sister relationship story line as well as some intrigue and mystery.

I loved it!

Cooper's Charm is one book that made me want to jump in the pages and visit this lovely place. I love Cooper and Phoenix together and they made me want to have a puppy again with their cute little guy they rescued. I really enjoyed the relationship between Phoenix and her sister Ridley is very special and heartwarming also and Ridley's story with Baxter being included was great. This is like getting multiple stories in one book and it was a great read.

This was a sexy, fun story about Peony and her sister Rose. Both are traumatized for different reasons. Peony wants to get away from her life so she takes a job as head groundskeeper for a resort named Coopers Charm. Rose decides to follow Peony, because she is worried about her. Because she is bored and wants to help, Rose ends up becoming the housekeeper for the cabins.
In addition, there are problems. Someone is targeting the resort for vandalism. Or are they threatening Peony?
The laid-back setting of the lake resort works its magic on them and Rose & Peony fall in love.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and look forward to the next in the series.
