Two sisters and a chance to start over….. Isn’t that what we all need sometimes? To read about it, to go along the journey of self-discovery with two characters you grow to love, and to experience it is all a part of Lori’s new novel. Phoenix had it all, a happy existence, when it all goes wrong. She then decides to take on a job at the lakeside resort of Cooper’s Charm. While in this quaint town she enlists her sister, Ridley, to also take on a job at the resort after her brutal divorce.
Lori, being one of my favorites that she is, can spin a tale of love, loss and connecting with others in a way that no one else can. This quick, great for summer tale, is another one you will surely love yourself. The alpha males that these two sisters meet will have you thinking of your own alpha or wishing one of these were your book boyfriends. The banter, the comradery, friendship and charm will have you reading this one again and again! I definitely recommend it and it’s made its way to my top ten of Lori’s novels!

Cooper’s Charm by Lori Foster
Love at the Resort #1
What a delightful introduction to a promising new series of romances set in Ohio at a lake resort that has just about anything vacationers might be looking for – sites to pitch a tent, hookup an RV or camper, rent a cabin or stay in a larger building. There are watersports, hiking, activities for children and no doubt other options not yet mentioned in the first book.
The first book offers two romances (sisters find true love), a bit of a mystery that could prove life threatening, growth of characters dealing with pasts they need to work through and a whole lot of fun, romance and camaraderie.
What I liked:
* Phoenix’s ability to overcome the trauma she experienced – and her glasses
* Ridley’s ability to give as well as take in relationships
* The sister-love between Phoenix and Ridley
* Baxter – a match in more ways than one for Ridley
* Cooper – an alpha hunk that was a bit of a gentle giant till riled and in some ways wounded but not daunted
* Maris and Daron – will they star in a book soon?
* Joy and her son – wonder who she will meet?
What I didn’t like:
* The bad guy that was finally revealed
* The local louts that seemed rather lost (do wonder if perhaps Harry might be given a chance to turn his life around)
* Other than what I was supposed not to like…there wasn’t anything to diss in this book.
Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Will I read more by this author? Yes
Do I want to read the next book in this series? Definitely
Thank you to NetGalley and HQN for the ARC – This is my honest review.

How does one go on when they are faced with adversity? Cooper is a man who uprooted his life to start over after the tragic loss of his wife. Phoenix winds up in Cooper’s Charm after being subjected to a horrific burglary and needing to find herself again. They are drawn to each other by an emotional force greater than themselves. Can they help to heal the wounds of the past together? Adding to the storyline are the inclusion of some wonderful secondary characters: Ridley, Phoenix’s older sister, Baxter, the devilishly sexy scuba instructor, Devon, the handsome and young handyman who can “fix” anything and not to be outdone but the cute little rescued beagle, named Sugar, will just make you melt. Lori Foster creates a slow build with regards to the romances that are blossoming in this story but when they finally connect, fireworks and steamy scenes abound. This is just one feel good story that will give any reader warm fuzzies and will inspire him or her to take a trip to visit this magical place where everyone is just like your family. I cannot wait to read more from this author.
I volunteered to read an advance copy provided by Netgalley.

So sweet, cute, and full of heart and passion!
Cooper’s Charm is a fast paced, story about accepting things that happen in life that are unexpected and you have no chance of changing. I really enjoyed the setting of this story and really wish I could make a trip to visit. I also really loved the dash of suspense that was thrown into this well written contemporary romance!
I was pleasantly surprised how hot and steamy this book was! It was a bonus that we not only got Pheonix and Cooper’s romance but we also got Riley, Phoenix's sister, and Baxter’s romance as well! It was so easy to keep up with both storylines and never get confused at what was happening. They didn’t distract from the overall message of the story either.
This was my first dive into Lori Foster’s writing and it will not be my last! I couldn’t get enough of the main characters but the secondary characters were just as amazing! I really hope that we get more of this world and the characters who have built it.
If you like protective men, women who are fiesty and strong, a puppy who is as adorable as it is protective, and a setting that will make you want to take a trip to a cabin by the lake, grab this one up right now!

We start out meeting Phoenix Rose. Who is she? Where do we find her? Why? Where is this place located and what does she find out about it in the morning? Who is Cooper? What happens during his meeting with Phoenix? Who is Ridley? When Phoenix keeps telling Ridley she will go back to visit soon, what ends up happening? Odd things keep happening at Cooper's Charm, maing this story as much a second-chance romance as a mystery. I was shocked by certain things that transpired in this story, sad for others, and happy with everything else. i have to say that I truly fell in love with Sugar and her soulful brown eyes. Enjoy the book!

Cooper's Charm is a story about survival, overcoming the odds, and beginning again as well as heartwarming, steamy and full of humor. The story is very addictive from the get-go, and I love that the story is set in an RV park.
Now rather than tell you all about the story, I'm going to tell you about the characters that fill this park, starting with Cooper Cochran; park owner, strong and silent type, but is protective of all of his employees. Coop's life hasn't been easy, after a painful loss, he never put himself out there emotionally, but after 3 years and with the right women, things change.
Phoenix Rose once had a life that many people envied, a successful business, attentive fiancé and a bright future, but that all fell apart when her business was robbed and she was attacked, which left her emotionally paralyzed. So after she let everything go, she decided that Cooper's Charm was going to be her fresh start
Ridley Rose, newly divorced and wealthy, has lots of bravo, but it's clear that her ex-husband has hurt her more than what she wants to let on. After following her sister Phoenix to Cooper's Charm, Ridley is also using this jumping point as a fresh new start, and it doesn’t hurt that she is the proud new owner of a luxury RV.
Baxter McNab scuba instructor and director, who just happens to be lean, strong, gorgeous, and a man who keeps his feeling to himself, and normally hides behind his shades, but boy when he wants something, he is determined.
Maris Kennedy is spunky and straight talking, and I loved her character from the moment she butted in between the job interview between Phoenix and Coop. Maris is a one of a kind women that we all want to be friends with but hasn't made up her mind with the one person she is interested in.
Daron Hardy; handyman extraordinaire, and somewhat of a man whore, likes to flirt with every pretty lady he sees but seems to be interested in just one if only she wouldn't turn him down.
There is also Joy and Officer Gibb Clark who we don't know really know, but I can't wait to get to know then in other books.
And finally Sugar! She truly makes the book for me!
Cooper's Charm is truly a fantastic book with a wonderful storyline, and loveable characters, that seem so familiar, but knew all at the same time, this series has made it on to my auto-buy list!
I give Cooper's Charm 5 stars!

Phoenix Rose is still shaken up after being burglary and shes still trying to gain confidence again while working at a lakeside resort Cooper's Charm. Cooper is still dealing with the traumatic death of his wife and isn't looking for love but it seems the more he is near his new hire Phoenix he can't help but want to be near her.
I loved this book it was such a heartwarming and steamy contemporary read. A perfect read for the summer especially by the poolside. I loved getting to see the characters and seeing Phoenix slowly but surely gain her confidence. I loved getting to know Coopers character and that he helped her out when needed and didn't coddle her after knowing her history and that he didn't let that get into the way of maybe starting something with her. I loved seeing Phoenix's sister also Ripley's own story as well. It wasn't the main part of the story but it was nice getting to her her own romance in the book as well. Overall this book was pretty great I really enjoyed it.

There is a lot to like about this story - family atmosphere of the employees of the resort, believable characters, the interaction/closeness between Phoenix and Ridley, and the romance. I have to admit that I did find myself wanting to see more the relationship between Ridley and Blake - I found myself chuckling a lot at how Blake had Ridley's number. I also enjoyed how the backstory of both Cooper and Phoenix was revealed over time in the story. Would recommend reading this book.

This is such a sweet story from Lori Foster, where we are treated to 2 romances. Phoenix Rose left her town after being attacked & robbed & went to Cooper's Charm to work with on their landscaping. She is healing slowly but the scenery & great work ethics of her co-workers & boss help. She develops a relationship with her widowed boss & they help heal each other. Meanwhile Phoenix's sister Ridley, dealing with a bitter divorce moves to Cooper's Charm to check on her sister. While there she works for them as a housekeeper & takes pride on doing a great job and develops feelings for the resort's scuba instructor. I can't wait to head back to Cooper's Charm again.

This is a book that will instantly suck you right in. It's one that you want to keep consuming, but at the same time one you hate to see end. I loved all the characters in this book. They're were entertaining and lovable. I love both Rose sisters had stories going on. Phoenix just breaks my heart with her back story, but the inner strength she gains from hew new job is inspiring. Cooper is just perfect for her. He also has a heartbreaking back story. These two lost, just going through the motions people are going to find new light to their future. Cooper is a rock for Phoenix, but can she believe a guy like Copper would want any type of future with her? I loved watching Cooper prove he is the man for her. I also enjoyed the secondary story of Ridley and Baxter. This book delivers on the feels with humor and heat. Lori Foster kicked of this series with a bang and I can't wait for more from this series. I would highly recommend this one because you're going to have a hard time putting it down.

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.
I generally love Lori Foster. One of my favorite romance series is the Buckhorn Brothers Series. I started this book with very high expectations, maybe that was my problem. I had a tough time liking, let alone loving these characters. I generally love a good romance about overcoming the past to find the HEA, but I found manipulation, calculation, low grade angst. Every character was on the lookout and planning how to use another character to get what they wanted. Not in an evil way, but in an "I want what I want" way. We get two romances and I liked that aspect. The characters were all beautiful and wonderful people and they get their HEA, of course. You get a touch of mystery thrown in too, which I really liked.
Phoenix Rose was the victim of a robbery and beating that left her a shell of the successful, confident woman she was. After six months of, basically, hiding out, she is on a mission to reclaim life as she once knew it.
Cooper Cochran owns a lakeside resort, Cooper's Charm. His wife died five years ago and he has been struggling to put his life and emotions back together ever since. When he meets Phoenix, he knows his life is about to change.
While visiting Cooper’s Charm to see her little sister, Ridley Rose decides she likes what she sees, a beautiful resort and a super hot diving instructor, Baxter, and decides to stay. When her ex-husband dumped her, she left with several of his millions and a broken heart. She is all about keeping her heart safe, until she crosses paths with Baxter.
Phoenix and Ridley both came to Cooper’s Charm as a means to an end, but they both have found that the their journey just might end there.

OMG! Loved this!! I have fallen in love with Cooper's Charm and all of the fun characters!
Phoenix was robbed after a busy day in her little shop and she was traumatized ever since. She needed to get away, plus her fiance was no help really. She wanted to go and find herself, heal, and plan for what the future held.
Cooper bought Cooper's Charm to heal from the death of his wife. He needed a place to find himself and live again.
Phoenix is a successful landscaper and is hired on the spot by Cooper to work on his campground. There is an instant attraction between the two, however Phoenix thinks Cooper is still hung up on his dead wife, and Phoenix thinks she just wants a good time. But it seems to be so much more between the two of them. Can they both look into their pasts, move on from their hurt, heal, and move on together?
We also get a bonus story between Phoenix's sister and the scuba diver instructor. Plus all of the other characters we are introduced to, I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Lori knows how to write a book that is about healing, family, and finding love. Along the way there is drama, the past comes to haunt Phoenix, and great story telling and character depth. Loved the start to this new series.

I loved this charming story that had the perfect mix of everything a romance should have. The characters are so well developed and just amazing. Lori Foster is just so good at this writing thing lol!
Thank you to Netgalley for the ARC of this book.

I love when an author creates a world that makes me want to leave everything behind and jump right into the pages of a book. That’s what Ms. Foster has done with Cooper’s Charm. Now I’m not an outdoorsy person by any stretch of the imagination, I actually kind of hate nature except what I can see through my windows, but I want to pack my bags, rent an RV and move to Cooper’s Charm.
Cooper’s Charm is such a touching and heartwarming story of second chances. Recovering from a horrific event, Phoenix decides to uproot her life and move away from all she’s known to start over again. When she meets Cooper, the widowed owner of the resort, there’s an attraction neither of them can deny, even if it’s the last thing either of them is looking for. Cooper is such a kind and protective man, caring and tender with Phoenix, respectful on her feelings. For all Phoenix went through she’s a tough cookie and ready to take on life again.
Phoenix isn’t the only one who’s ready to start over. Soon after her arrival, her sister Ridley shows up at Cooper’s Charm as well, determined to make her own fresh start.
While Cooper’s Charm is really the story of Phoenix and Cooper, and how they both learn to move on after tragedy, I liked that Ms. Foster wove Ridley’s story in as well.
There’s a bit of mystery that’s introduced into the story, to add a little intrigue along side the romance. While it had great potential, and I would have loved to have seen it fleshed out more, it was just a little too predictable and unfortunately fell a bit flat for me. But that’s really my only con with this story, as once again Ms. Foster gives us a sweet story, of not just 2, but 4 people who find exactly what they needed, even if they weren’t looking! Oh, and did I mention there’s a puppy?!?
An easy, breezy summer read, Cooper's Charm was really quite charming. Yes, I had to go there!

Charming first book in the series Love at the Resort. Everyone has a past.
Phoenix has had a traumatic experience. She tries to get her life back.
Cooper is the widowed owner/boss aka Big Sexy. When Ridley, Phoenix's sister pays "indefinite" visit there is quibbles and humor.. Cooper's Charm is a good place to get away. A story of second chances.

Everyone has a past and sometimes it hard to leave them there and move on with life.
A brutal robbery and assault left Phoenix Rose a shell of the person she once was. Desperate to stop living in fear and reclaim her life, Phoenix leaves the security of loving, but overprotective family and takes a job at a woodsy resort.
Resort owner, Cooper Cochran, has his own tortured past which led him to purchase the camping getaway… to isolate himself.
Ridley Rose, older sister of Phoenix, shows up out of concern for her sibling and we find a bitter divorce left her a wealthy but emotionally scarred woman.
Ridley connects with resort scuba diving instructor, Baxter McNab, whose last relationship left him reeling and interested in sex only hookups.
I went through emotion-overload several times.
From the beginning, Phoenix is determined to make a success of her new start at life, even though all of her thoughts are laced with what happened. I thought I was dealing with a character who would be closed off and unreachable, yet the first time she see Cooper she’s describing his body.
And he’s no better. His loss of five years ago and the circumstances which caused it are ever-present in his mind, but sex with the new girl is a real possibility.
Ridley and Baxter were just as annoying to me.
I don’t mean to be glib, but so many adults in the same proximity who are passive/aggressive about sex only relationships left me cold.
Insta-love is a real thing in romance but I felt no chemistry between either couple. They said the words, had the longing looks and had the sex, but they might as well have been doing their taxes. It just didn’t work for me.
The danger element of the story was working for me, but then it fizzled and went flat. The premise was too far-fetched and could have been laid out better.
I liked handyman Daron Hardy. He brightened every scene he was in. Maybe because he wasn’t carrying the emotional baggage the others were, but I would have enjoyed more Daron and less Ridley plotting sexual domination or Phoenix worrying about missing photos in Cooper’s home.
Die-hard romance lovers will enjoy Cooper’s Charm and it’s HEA, but for me, it felt rushed and too pat.
As I said, sometimes our pasts keep us from moving forward, but we have to be sure the past is the problem and not our determination to hold on to it.

One thing I can always count on when reading a Lori Foster book is her stories always have a sense of coming home to family and friends. You get to bond with each character no matter how small of a role they play in the book. She creates such a realistic environment you can easily picture yourself there, which makes bonding with the characters that much easier.
Phoenix has decided to start over she is a successful landscaper and businesswoman. She is willing to prove it to herself that she can do it provide for herself again. I really enjoyed seeing a female character not stuck in a “usual” job. She is a landscaper who doesn’t mind going out and getting dirty and running heavy equipment. That was a wonderful change of pace, though not very surprising for a Lori Foster book since most of her female characters are strong and independent. I really liked watching Phoenix evolve throughout the book. She was a delightful character who had the same insecurities as any normal woman would, but was slowly growing in confidence.
Cooper was a great boss to have around her and great boss all around seriously. Very patient and kind, he obviously had researched her past and knew what to expect which was unexpected. I loved that he actually talked he wasn’t one of those broody alpha males that didn’t say anything and expected you to know what he meant! Cooper is a very fair and decent man, which comes out in his resort Cooper’s Charm.
There is a secondary story inside the main story, and it begins when Phoenix’s sister Ridley comes to Cooper’s Charm to check up on her. Ridley comes off as an impulsive person, only thinking of herself. However once you start to know her a little more then you see she is such an unbelievably kind hearted person in her own way. Of course she picks one of the most stubborn men to battle with the scuba instructor. I’m not sure why there is one at a lake camp ground as I stay at these regularly and wouldn’t want to see underneath the water. I’m not sure if I like having a secondary book inside a main book as much… I wish they would’ve had their own books. Lori Foster has done this book spectacularly before, and I’m sure she can do it again; I just didn’t feel it in this book.
Overall I would recommend this book; it was a great romantic suspenseful read. With two main characters that actually talked to each other. Most romance novels there is a lot of miscommunication I didn’t find that in this book.
Thank you to Lori Foster, HQN Books, and Net Galley for the copy in lieu of my honest review.

I have to say I am already looking forward to the ext book in the series. Cooper's Charm is just that, charming. A place for Phoenix to start fresh after a brutal attack had her cowering from the world. She is trying to start fresh and the scenery of Cooper's Charm is just the spot. It doesn't hurt that the owner is easy on the eyes, and seems to sense just what Phoenix needs without rushing her.
Phoenix's sister is also trying to start over after a nasty divorce, her sharp tongue is hilarious for the most part. It pushes away most men but she finds one who finds it amusing rather than off putting.
The cast of characters are fun, friendly and welcoming. Which almost makes me wish this wasn't a fictional place so I could go work there!

I’ll just go on the record right up front and say that I’m a huge Lori Foster fan. Her books have just the right blend of backstory, angst, sweetness, feels and sexy times to satisfy just about any romance reader. Cooper’s Charm is no exception, so it should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that I enjoyed this one a great deal.
If I had to classify Cooper’s Charm, I’d call it a feel-good read. There’s some horrible stuff that happened in the characters’ pasts, but it wasn’t harped on in such detail that it scared me or bummed me out or anything. Just the right amount of detail was given to let me get to know the characters, but there definitely wasn’t TMI. (I can’t even tell you how much I appreciate that. I hate TMI and have had more than one book that gave me nightmares as a result. I’m looking at you, Lisa Gardner.)
Here’s some other stuff I really liked:
1. There are 2 main couples in the story. 2 romances for the price of one! You can’t beat that.
2. There’s a cute rescue beagle. I think all authors should write rescue dogs into their stories. What can it hurt, right?
3. It’s dual point of view, so you get the perspective of both male and female leads. I LOVE dual point of view in a romance.
4. There’s a little mystery thrown in, so even fans of romantic suspense would probably enjoy this one
Baxter is my new book boyfriend, and probably the only man I’d ever agree to take SCUBA lessons from. That is all.
5. I’d like to hang out with Ridley. She’s super interesting.
Long-story-short, this is another winner from an author I’ve come to trust. Cooper’s Charm would make a PERFECT beach read. I’ll definitely be reading the next book in the series. (Please, oh please, oh please make it Maris’s story…)
Full disclosure: I received an ARC from NetGalley at no charge.

I think I’ve found my new favorite Lori Foster novel! I really enjoyed reading about Phoenix and her sister Ridley as well as the quirky cast of characters that popped up at Cooper’s Charm lake/camp. It was also set in Ohio which always means bonus points from this Ohio native!
Let me just say, I’ve been reading romance novels for a long time and when I see a nature cover with any kind of animal, I automatically assume it is women’s fiction. The cover combined with the synopsis which focuses on Phoenix and Ridley as opposed to Phoenix and Cooper (the main couple) cemented my preconceived notions.
I also assumed the book with be, if not clean, then at least contain some strategically written fade out scenes or colorful allusions to sex. Of course, if you’ve read Ms. Foster’s novels before, then you know she doesn’t shy away from sex scenes, but I thought she was taking a different route with this book. Boy, was I wrong. The sex scenes were steamy, which I enjoyed, but might come as a surprise for traditional women’s fiction readers.
This was a very cute and fulfilling romance novel. Phoenix and Ridley both grow as characters and so do their respective love interests. There is a third couple alluded to in the novel and I wonder if they will get their own story. I wish there had been separate books for both Phoenix and Ridley. I think because Ridley had the secondary relationship, her story often felt rushed or less important than Phoenix’s story (besides the sex scenes).
Overall, I enjoyed this book immensely. It is the perfect summer read. Very sexy, lots of heart, and a little bit of mystery to keep you guessing. I would recommend this to fans of Robyn Carr who wish the Virgin River Series had a lot more sex.
