Perfect book for a summer read! Phoenix is ready to start her life over after being attacked and finds the perfect place at Cooper's Charm Resort. There's a bit of a mystery and some wonderful romance and heat, I couldn't put it down! Can't wait to see what comes next in the series!

This was a good and easy read. I absolutely loved Lori Foster's MMA fighter series but this book is completely different. It is much more low key and fresh love versus the intensity you find in some of her other books.

This book is technically about two sisters, Phoenix and Ridley, but mainly follows Phoenix. Phoenix owner her own landscaping business but was robbed at gun point and almost assaulted. It affected her so deeply that she got rid of the business, left her fiancé and moved from hotel to hotel to never be in one place. She finally decides to take a job, even if short term, at a camping resort owned by Cooper Cochran. Cooper has been dealt his own tragic past with losing his wife and can see the fear in Phoenix. He plays a huge role in helping her find her way back to the woman she once was and he falls a little bit in love with her every day.

At the same time, Ridley comes to visit Phoenix at the resort to check up on her little sister. Ridley has her own issues after her husband divorced her. She is a beauty but has lost the softness she used to show the world. Enter Baxter, the hottie scuba instructor, who can take her sarcasm and wit and dish it right back. There story was much more fun and upbeat to witness, especially since they both want the same thing but won't admit it.

Of course the story wouldn't be complete without some drama from the past showing up. Phoenix has to confront her past on more than one side and will have to learn to lean on others to help.

A very good read and very well written.

Contemporary Romance

Cooper’s Charm RV Park & Resort in Ohio – Present Day

Phoenix Rose is looking for a job and a place to hide as she continues to recover emotionally from a brutal attack that occurred a year ago when she was the victim of a robbery. Cooper Cochran, who owns an RV resort, hires Phoenix as a maintenance worker. While he is at first skeptical that she can do the work, he hired her and let her move into one of the cabins at the resort. Cooper is reserved but charming, and an attraction soon develops between them. But the last thing Phoenix is looking for is a relationship, especially with a man who is still mourning his late wife.

After the death of his wife, Cooper bought and renovated the RV resort and the people there are now his “family.” Phoenix soon proves to him that hiring her was a smart move on his part. He had checked her out online and knows about the attack against her, which has him being protective when it comes to her safety. When some mysterious incidents start to occur, Cooper wonders if someone is wanting to hurt his business…or are they after Phoenix? If so, will he be able to protect her before something serious happens?

Phoenix’s sister, Ridley, soon follows her to Cooper’s Charm and settles in, especially after she spies one of the employees working there, Baxter McNab. Ridley is recently divorced, with a lot of money to burn, and doesn’t mind hanging around to see if she can have a little fling with him. The sisters are close and living there gives Ridley an opportunity to keep an eye on Phoenix. But will things heat up with Baxter more than Ridley expects?

Lori Foster introduces readers to a fun bunch of characters in COOPER’S CHARM, which takes place at an RV resort on an idyllic lake in Ohio. Phoenix once led a charmed life—employed at a job she liked and a devoted fiancé—but that all changed one horrendous night when she was robbed and beaten at work. The toll of recovery led her to break up with her fiancé and start moving from place to place, hoping to find peace and recovery. Will she finally find it at Cooper’s Charm?

Cooper is also going through his own pain and recovery after losing his wife. He’s filled his days with mostly work, with little time for romance. But Phoenix has him changing his mind, especially when it appears she needs his help. Who doesn’t love a protective male…especially one as strong and handsome as Cooper? One day while out hiking, they come across a dog being beaten by another man. They rescue the dog and Cooper adopts it. A man who is protective and likes animals? Sign me up!

COOPER’S CHARM is an affable and enjoyable romance that readers will surely love. Cooper is strong and handsome, while Phoenix isn’t a pushover as she will fight back when cornered. Their romance is sweet but sensuous—enough for readers to have to bring out the fans while reading COOPER’S CHARM! Add in the secondary story between Ridley and Baxter that is cute, funny—and inevitable as they discover a mutual attraction. But will it lead to anything or is it just a fling? As for the mysterious incidents, readers will be pondering who the target is—Phoenix or Cooper.

COOPER’S CHARM is a tale that will grab readers with its likable characters and a sprinkle of humor. Pick up a copy and be prepared to be thoroughly entertained.

Cooper's Charm is perfect for a day at the beach or pool! Combing family and romance, Foster creates an endearing story that will have you tearing up, swooning, and sighing in content!

Phoenix is restarting her life after leaving her business and fiancee behind. Ridley is coming to Cooper's Charm to check up on her sister (Phoenix). Ridley is also looking for a fresh start after her divorce. The story combines all the allure of a small town setting-fun secondary characters, picturesque setting, and swoony heroes! Phoenix and Ridley's stories are heartwarming and a good reminder that there is hope after tragedy. I also loved the sister bond! Books that show positive family relationships are not as common as I would like, so that made Ridley and Phoenix extra special. And the final point that made me absolutely love the book? A puppy!!!!

Cooper's Charm is a great pick if you want something that focuses on character building, dynamic characters, personal growth, and small town charm. There isn't much action and overall, the story is predictable, but sometimes, those books are exactly what you need! Put this in your beach bag for sure!

Phoenix and Ridley are what my sister are to each other. Everything.
Their relationship is the close like no other. They support and love and care for each other without thinking of themselves. I love the sarcastic attitudes to each other and that they talk to each other constantly.
This story was more than just HEA’s. It was about reclaiming their lives and moving on from what life had dealt them.
The love stories told in this book are lovely and so real.
Lori Foster never fails to write a best seller. I can’t wait for this book to be released so that people get a chance to read this book also.

Thank you to netgalley for this free book in exchange for an honest review. 💕

I loved it! Cooper's Charm is a great summer read! I loved the characters of Phoenix and Ridley! They both have hurts they are running from but they find some great guys to help them come back into their own. Lori Foster knows how to write a great book! I was drawn to all the characters and I would love to find a place like Cooper's Charm. Definitely check this book out, you won't regret it!

A cute story!

Cooper's Charm is the name of the resort at the center of the series, so named (against his will, essentially; though he hasn't bothered changing it either) after its owner. Cooper's a stand-up guy who has moved on after his wife's violent death give years ago, but hasn't really moved on romantically...yet. Phoenix has her own issues, having left her last relationship after her own violent encounter (an armed robbery) and love is the last thing she's looking for--regaining confidence in herself and forging a new path for her life.

You know where this is going, right?

There's not a lot of surprises here--you know who's going to end up with whom, though adding in Phoenix's sister Ridley adds a nice dash of spice (is it wrong to think her relationship was actually more interesting than Phoenix's most of the time?)--even the suspense portion felt kind of...non-suspenseful. It was really on the outside of things for most of the book, and was resolved really, really quickly in the last few pages of the book.

In all this was a sweet summer read about finding yourself and starting over--it's not a gripping page turner but instead a pleasant way to spend a few hours this summer.

Cooper's Charm by Lori Foster is the first novel in her latest series, Love at the Resort. The tale takes place at Cooper's Charm a peaceful, family oriented lakeside campground complete with RV hookups, cabins and scuba lessons. For the Rose sister's it is a place that brings healing, trust, and fresh beginnings.
A dog and suspenseful thread added interest and presented a climactic ending. The story wraps up and will have readers yearning to return. Foster's characters are well-developed and realistic .  Fans of small-town romances will want to reserve a cabin and devour Cooper's Charm.

Full review will post at Caffeinated Reviewer July 30th and will be shared and cross-posted.

I love that this story takes place in a charming little RV Park. The employees are like family and there are plenty of alpha males to keep things interesting. I really enjoyed Phoenix and Cooper's sweet relationship as they worked to overcome their pasts.

As an added bonus, Cooper's Charm also includes the love story of Phoenix's fun & flirty sister, Ridley. Her romance with Baxter was entertaining & she knew just what buttons to push to keep him riled up. I look forward to the next book in this series. I would love to know what happens with Daron and Maris.

This book has some cute elements, a strong sister relationship, and characters who all actually seem like nice people. However, it can't quite seem to decide what kind of story it wants to be. Parts of it are rom-com and parts are suspense, but they don't mesh together very well. The suspense plot is both predictable and unlikely. Some of the character's personalities have sudden tonal switches, which kind of caught me off guard as well. Overall, it's a nice summer romance but feels a bit disjointed.

This book had a quiet tone about it. It was hard not to be charmed by the campground and it's workers. You could see right away that this would be a good place for Phoenix, a safe place, not that you knew why she needed it, just that she did. I liked that we didn't get Phoenix's past all up front, but how it was slowly rolled out.

I loved the interaction between Phoenix and her sister, Ridley. Right from the start you could tell that these 2 women were there for each other, even if they were miles away. It was hard not to laugh once we got to know Ridley better, she was a force to be reckoned with and just what the camp ground needed to get shook up.

Cooper and Phoenix's romance was very sweet. Neither jumped in, they more had to feel each other out. I liked that both could understand the other's trauma, loved how Phoenix didn't get jealous of pictures.

The ending to this one was great, loved how it showed how much all the characters grew and had so many HEA's.

This was a sweet read about a landscape artist, Phoenix Rose, who comes to work at a resort and RV vacation spot in Ohio. Phoenix is still recovering from a scary assault/robbery at her business and decided that she needs to get away. There she meets the owner of the resort, Cooper, who is still recovering from the tragic murder of his wife. Their mutual attraction will help both of them recover from their ghosts.

Meanwhile, Phoenix’s older sister, Ridley, comes to visit and decides to stay and work as head of housekeeping at the resort. She’s wealthy after being discarded by her wealthy ex-husband. She doesn’t need to work, but she wants to be near her younger sister and is attracted to the hunky scuba instructor.

There is a bit of a mystery of threats against Phoenix so Cooper has to go into alpha-protection mode. It seemed pretty obvious who the guilty party was - what wasn’t obvious was why this guy would care enough to be following Phoenix around and trying to kill her, but just suspend disbelief and enjoy the burgeoning romances of the two sisters and their love interests. And the sisterly relationship between Phoenix and Ridley was especially fun and enviable.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

A book with two women wanting to start over but only enough dedication to one of them getting a cohesive HEA.

The Good: So, I fell in love with the cover of this book. I'm a sucker for dogs and I'm happy to say, Sugar, the beagle, totally stole every scene she was in. I loved Cooper's interactions with her and he was totally my hero when he helped rescue her (with Phoenix's help) from a nasty piece of a so called human.

In addition to my love of Sugar I was happy to find this book had a suspenseful element to it as well. Phoenix is broken from a terrible assault several months ago and she's really trying to heal. I love how she came to Cooper's Charm (a camping resort) to do this. Oh speaking of Cooper's Charm...the setting was spot on. It took a small town feel (love me some small town romances) and placed it in a picturesque spot I wished was real. I'd totally go there for a few weeks to relax.

The Bad: Remember that suspenseful element I mentioned earlier? Well, here it is, now, in the bad area of my review. It wasn't fully realized. The conclusion of the mystery behind Phoenix's summer danger seemed a stretch and requires the reader to suspend their disbelief. We readers didn't even know there was danger, really, until well into the middle of the book and between it and two love stories none of them were truly satisfying.

So, Phoenix's sister Ridley, joins the crew at Cooper's Charm as a housekeeper. Never mind she has never done such taxing labor (the book even mentions how no one stays on because it's grueling work). Never mind she is a night owl and seems to be ok with starting work at 7am all the while staying up late to have hot monkey sex with one of the 3 single studs working at the resort. Anyway, we do learn a bit about Ridley, however, there just isn't enough space within this book to give her a storyline I think she deserved.

In a Nutshell: Overall an OK book. It's what I'd call a cute beach read for your summer days but nothing that'll stick with you in the long run.

Phoenix is still trying to deal with the aftereffects of a violent attack and she believes that she has found the new beginning she desperately needs at the lakeside resort, Cooper’s Charm, where she will be handling the landscaping. Cooper is her boss and he senses a kindred spirit in Phoenix as he is recovering from a tragedy of his own. They have a deep connection but are they ready to open their hearts and let each other in?

Ridley is Phoenix’s sister and she comes for a visit to see how she is coping. Ridley has recently endured a devastating divorce and once there decides to stay and handle the housekeeping duties. The last thing she needs to do is get involved with a man but when she meets the scuba instructor, Baxter, their attraction is undeniable. Will he be able to convince her that their feelings for each other are more than a fling?

This is a sweet and sexy story about healing and new beginnings. It manages to incorporate heat, humor, twists and suspense into one perfect package. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

This was my first Lori Foster but I know she's got a huge following so I was really excited to get started on this one. I really liked the characters - especially Phoenix and Ridley. Their relationship is really close but they still drive each other crazy sometimes. They both have some pretty significant baggage and it was interesting seeing how it affected both.

Cooper and Phoenix's relationship was really sweet. Cooper is a widower who has resisted really moving on until recently and I enjoyed how he changed in how he related to himself, his late wife and Phoenix. The honesty between the two of them was really lovely and made the relationship seem very real. Cooper is very much an Alpha Male character but he isn't bossy. If he doesn't want Phoenix to do something he's honest about his reasons, and then has an actual conversation that involves talking and listening with her before they make a decision as to what is going to happen. It was a nice take on the Alpha

They relationship involving Ridley was pretty fun (I'm not naming the guy because he's not mentioned in the blurb). She's a much more assertive personality but I never really found her too abrasive. Her relationship was much more banter-y and up and down which cut the sweetness a bit which was nice. I normally don't love secondary romances because so often I want more of the secondary couple but this worked really well and I liked Cooper and Phoenix's observations.

The dog addition was so sweet and I love how she fit into the world of Cooper's Charm. For the most part the suspense element was very well done and provided not only some great conflict but also some space for Phoenix to really fight her demons in a way that didn't feel contrived. I didn't really love the way it wrapped up as it didn't make the most sense to me but that was really a small blip. The wrap up of the book itself was really sweet and I'm excited to see these characters as background characters in the future.

As the cover suggests this is a perfect summer read. I really liked the characters and loved the setting. I'll be on the lookout for the next book! Maybe Maris?

While what initially drew my interest to Cooper’s Charm was the adorable cover, the story quickly draws you in.
Phoenix Rose takes a job as a groundskeeper at Cooper’s Charm to try to regain her life after a terrible incident. She quickly falls for the owner, Cooper who was getting over his broken heart. Ridley, Phoenix’s sassy sister comes to stay in order to be close to her and ends up falling for Baxter, the scuba instructor. While their stories all become intertwined , random things end up happening that start to cause worry at Cooper’s Charm .
Lori Foster finds a way to wrap you into this story and leaves us hoping that We might see more of Ridley & Baxter in a future book. Thank you Netgalley & HQN for the ARC .

I see that Lori Foster has a book coming out, I must sign up for it in ANY way I can! I was a lucky recipient of an early ARC to read of this new series and WOW. It's different from Miss Foster's usual works - meaning the MMA genre - but it's still amazing! This is more small town romance but with suspense thrown in for a perfect combination!

This series starts with a small town and Phoenix who needs a job. So she starts working for Cooper, who is inexplicably drawn to Phoenix. But that's just the start. SOOOO much more happens. And then add Phoenix's older sister Ridley to the mix? This story is funny and suspenseful and just a great read all around.

I hope Daron gets a story! I just know his would be crazy.

ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Rating 4.5 stars.

I’m a sucker for a damsel in distress story. Lori Foster’s Cooper’s Charm is exactly that but with a modern, capable damsel.

Phoenix Rose is the aptest of names for a woman trying to rebuild her life after a devastating robbery during which she was beaten badly. She welcomes a new job taking care of the landscaping at Cooper’s Charm. Cooper has a surprisingly similar reason for buying a resort which takes him far from his former life and the memories of the wife he lost too soon. Can Phoenix and Cooper forge a future? Are they ready? Capable even? I enjoyed watching these two getting to know each other and grow out of their trauma-induced shells. They’re both great people and deserve more than their self-imposed isolation.

I found Phoenix’s sister, Ridley, fun and feisty. She’s probably the richest maid ever but she’s enjoying spending time with her sister and the other employees. Her purely sexual relationship with the scuba instructor, Baxter, turns into so much more, of course.

As if they haven’t had enough of the worst life can hand them, Phoenix’s past soon comes to haunt her and, by extension, her new family at Cooper’s Charm. She finds she didn’t know the whole story of her beating/robbery. When her ex comes to make peace, she’s finally able to let go of the guilt she felt over removing herself from their relationship. There’s more to that part of the story than meets the eye too!

Foster gives us lots of scary and suspenseful moments and two touching and tender love stories in this well written expertly paced and complex book. I’ve been a Foster fan for a long time and this is just one more book with all the exceptional qualities that make her a best-seller.

I loved the setting for Cooper's Charm. What better place to heal than a RV/Cabin resort. Seems the several characters are doing just that. Phoenix Rose and Ridley Rose are sisters who are fun to listen to and watch as they find something that has been missing from their lives. There is romance, drama and danger in this fun and interesting plot. The dialog keeps the story moving and the wide cast of characters adds to the fun. This is book one in Love at the Resort. Phoenix and Ridley found their HEA at Coopers's Charm and I saw plenty of interesting side characters needing the same. Great start to a new series.
