It was OK. The idea is nice, but I don't really like the story. Why he chase the hat all the way when he has given an important task? Hmm.. also, why bother using helicopter to search the hat ?

Maybe I'm just not getting the humor.

A cute and quick little book about Officer Pete loosing his police officer's cap and spending the day searching for it, taking every possible way one can search for things. When he's about to give up, he finds it's been at the station all along, as well as a birthday party because he was so busy, he forgot his own birthday! The illustrations were bright and colorful, too.

This was a cute book about a police officer who is trying to locate his missing hat, while everyone around tries to plan a surprise for him.

Pete is a poiliceman who is given a very special task. Unfortunately, whilst on the way, his hat is stolen which sends him on a journey which involves a police car, a sniffer dog, a motorcycle and even a helicopter. My grandson really enjoyed getting this read to him and loved looking at the beautiful illustrations and looking for the people who had taken Pete’s Hat. An enjoyable read with a surprise ending.

I read this with our four year old this afternoon and it was a huge hit. He thoroughly enjoyed the story and trying to "catch" the criminal who had stolen Officer Pete's hat by spotting the thief in the pictures. He was excited to look for the little details in the images that were prompted in the story, which prompted me to ask for more of my own making. He was thrilled at the end by the surprise.

Our four year old gives it two thumbs up, and I give it 5 stars. The detailed illustrations are very good and add to the appeal of the story. If you have a little one who hopes to be a police officer some day, it's bound to be an even bigger hit.
