This is the first story I’ve read from Helena Hunting and I’m really wondering why. Her writing is spectacular and this story is not short on anything!

I really like Pierce and Rian - it seems as if opposites really do attract, but Rian harbors a secret she never wants to anyone to find out. Pierce is just as guarded about his own secrets. Together they are a big ball of palpable sexual tension.

I really enjoyed this story and now must read the other stuff Miss Hunting has written. I recommend you do the same!

Rian Sutter and her twin sister are slowly making it in the world of real estate. Living in the Hamptons where updated houses can sell for some crazy amounts, their dream of house flipping is finally coming true... slowly.

Pierce Whitfield is a Manhattan lawyer dissatisfied with his current career. Spending the summer working on houses has finally given him an outlet he didn't know he needed.

When Rian and Pierce meet and have a huge misunderstanding, their relationship starts out pretty rocky. But, now they're running into each other in the least likely of places and they soon find out their attraction isn't the only thing they have in common...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This was such a cute storyline! I loved the backstory of Rian, and how she and her sister have worked so hard to make it on their own.
The relationship between Rian and Pierce starts with some misunderstandings and a whole lot of secrets between them, but when two people belong together, they need to fight for what they want...
I enjoyed this story as a whole, but I had a really hard time trying to connect with the characters.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Why have I never read a Hunting book before?! Funny, sarcastic, smart and sexy. I can say that about both Rian and Pierce. It's not the usual rich a-hole with an alpha personality, he's charming and romantic. Rian has spunk and gives as good as she gets when it comes to banter and witty commentary. House flipping has taken on a whole new level of hotness in the Hamptons. It's listed as part of a series but I assume it's not directly connected, I haven't read the others and was never confused. I was thrilled to get a copy through Netgalley and voluntarily wrote my review.
It always surprises me when an author writes a book that has a different feel than her normal and it really shouldn’t, but I Flipping Love You by Helena Hunting wasn’t her usual rip roaring funny rom-com, this book was a bit more serious, it was charming, and it was very enjoyable.
Since the age of 18 Rian and her twin sister Marley have been pretty much on their own and figuring out how to make life work. Being successful real estate agents in the Hamptons have helped them work towards their goal of gaining enough capital to be able to flip some beach houses and save enough money t be able to buy their grandmother’s estate from the current owner when it goes on the market and given the state of disrepair it probably won’t be much longer. When Rian is approached in the grocery store by a man who defines bad boy and has an a$$hole demeanor to match, she if furious at his accusations until she realizes that it’s a case of mistaken identity and her twin has some explaining to do, what Rian can’t deny is the attraction she feels for a man she just met and one she knows won’t be good for her or her heart.
I actually love the way they met and the verbal foreplay between them for a good part of this book and while the first third of this book was pretty funny and somewhat snarky that mellowed as this story played out. That’s not a bad thing, it was just different and I enjoyed watching them spend time together, enjoy each other’s company in all kinds of interesting ways, and get to know one another even when Rian was holding back a good chunk of her life. Pierce turns out to be the opposite of a bad boy, he’s actually quite sweet and has a heart of gold and is perfect for Rian even if she refuses to admit it or open herself up to him. I loved that he was patient, kind, and even when he was angry he managed to think about what happened rationally and deal with the situation and Rian calmly. I liked Rian and it was obvious that life had made her guarded and that was warranted, but it was fun to watch her enjoy life again with Pierce even when at times she ran scared.
A sweet romance with a steamy, sexy side I Flipping Love You was a great summer read and one readers will no doubt enjoy!
A down-on-his-luck sexy, good with his hands lawyer and a go-getter girl, a mistaken identity, flipping houses? I flipping love it! The quirky banter was great, the writing was fun and fast, and the theme was perfect for anyone who loves HGTV, romance and steam. I think the characters were evolved, but the plot felt a little thin on anything serious, so if you like side stories weaved into plots, this might not be your pick. For a cute, light, fun and steamy read though, this is spot on.
4.5☆ I Flipping Love You was a hoot!! I loved the concept of the book, I found it really interesting. Pierce and Rian are great! I loved them both and found them both hilarious! How they met was definitely unique and so funny! Their whole relationship was fun to read about and kept me hooked. There was more than just humor though, there was still the usual steam and sweetness that can be expected from Helena. The epilogue was adorable and a very fitting end for Pierce and Rian.
I Flipping Love You is the newest rom-com in the Shacking Up series, and it might be my favorite! Full of Helena Hunting's signature sass & steamy scenes, this book kept me smiling & laughing the entire time.
Rian Sutter is feisty, determined, and protective of her heart. She lives in the Hamptons with her twin sister, and refuses to let anyone in. Especially the new hottie in town, who just won't give up.
Pierce Whitfield is gorgeous, smart & goes after what he wants. Especially when that something is the gorgeous, sassy woman who keeps turning him down.
I've been wondering about Pierce since he was briefly mentioned as Amalie's brother in Hooking Up, and I'm so glad we got his story. Helena Hunting knows how to deliver the perfect heroes, and she definitely didn't disappoint with this one! I loved these characters, and their story is just so fun! I would love to read more about Marley (next book?? Please Helena?!?!) and the cameo by Amalie, although way too short, was a pleasant surprise.
If you're looking for your next beach read, this is it! A deliciously sexy romance, with hilarious banter & the perfect amount of angst all wrapped up in the perfect story. I highly recommend this one, and can't wait for whatever Helena Hunting delivers next!
Cute read and some steamy scenes. However, I couldn't get with Rian, she irked me to the nth degree. I thought Marley would be the problem twin, but alas no it wasn't. Honestly, I didn't mind Pierce so much but I didn't understand why he pursued a woman who so flaky. I enjoyed this book, for the most part, I just wish there was a different lead woman. I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book reminds me, why I love many books of Helena Hunting. Sometimes she is over the top and I am annoyed about how crazy her heroines (mostly) act.
But this book was sweet – with two struggling – very lovable – people who wanted to find their love.
Rian and her twin sister were abandoned by their parents, who left the country and left their daughters behind, when they were caught cheating. They live in The Hamptons, earning their income als realtors and try make some extra money flipping a house.
When Rian met lawyer Pierce (brother of Anarchy Amy – well known from “Hooking up”) the circumstances are not the best. Her sister damaged his beloved Tesla and left without notice (remember – twins…. You know what happened).
Pierce has his own problems with his job – so during this summer he is helping his brother flipping houses too. Seems like a conflict of interests….
But Rian and Pierce cannot deny the growing attraction.
Now they have to find a way to trust each other and make their relationship happen.
Their lovestory is really well written, you feel the connection between Rian and Pierce.
Both struggle with their live and their families – in different ways – but of course – they find their way.
I definitely recommend this book.. it is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone
This was such a sweet, funny and natural story.
I absolutely adored Rian and Pierce as a couple. They were funny, a little goofy, but very likeable and matching.
Nothing more here left to say.... hopefully there will be another "Shacking Up" - novel *fingerscrossed*
I flipping loved this book so much. I basically read this 5 star story in a few hours. An highly addictive story about 2 people who couldn’t be anymore different.
Rian is a down to earth, saving, couponing kind of girl. She lives a simple life with her twin sister. She meets Pierce who wears an expensive suit and drives a fancy car. They couldn’t be anymore different if they tried but opposites attracts.
I loved these amazingly created characters. Rian was so funny with a take no shit attitude. She gave it to him when he pushed her buttons. She’s no doormat that’s for sure. Pierce is so much more then his expensive suits. She will find that they had so much more in common she originally thought.
It’s an enticing and highly entertaining standalone told in a dual POV with an HEA. I strongly recommend this story.
This is the perfect beach read! It's cute and sexy. I loved how Pierce and Rian met and how they kept on meeting. The way their relationship evolved was sweet, but super steamy. I thought the characters really complimented each other and the ending was perfect.
This was a well-written, entertaining book. Rian is creating a business buying and selling real estate, and is hoping to flip a beachfront property with her sister. Then she meets a sexy stranger who snaps up properties out from under her, and sparks start flying. Pierce needed a break from his job in the city and agrees to help his brother work on some homes in the Hamptons. Then he meets Rian, and business mixes with pleasure. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.
I absolutely loved Rian and Pierce!!! They are both flipping houses and in competition for the same houses. But who knew that love would be thrown in the mix and it is the winning hand in life and real estate! Another winner from Helena Hunting, but anything she touches is pure gold! 5 awesomesauce stars!
This book started very strong and then went sideways on me very quickly. I don't know if I'm suffering from romcom fatigue, or if something about this book specifically kept me from connecting it, but I wasn't particularly fond of Rian and the entire storyline here was a miss for me. I have loved other titles by this author in the past, and so would not hesitate to pick up another one, but unfortunately this one didn't work for me.
Not what I expected.
O thought the premise of the book sounded interesting, but it just didn't work for me. Maybe it was the mood I was in when I read the book but I didn't find the book funny. Nor was I engaged by Pierce and Rian's relationship. That all being said I will try reading this author again.
