Crocheting and flowers all in one is a great treat! This book hooked me with interest from the cover and I was super excited to find inside 30 great patterns to create lovely flowers. It gave me step-by-step instructions and I found them easy to follow and very doable. I like that I can put a border around them if I want but for me right now I’m making flower embellishments for hats and I can make these and use these without the borders. I just love it!

I received a digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Crochet Loom Blooms book adds extra dimension to crocheting with beautiful flower motifs. This is a fantastic book on taking crocheting to the next step and a great way to use up leftover wool in a fun and different way.

There is an excellent Introduction & how to begin these intricate flowers, explaining what a loom is and shows colour photos of its component parts along with loads of petal patterns and how to add a centre with a stitch or perhaps a button. Included is a picture of the same motif 14 times using different yarns and another photograph of a flower 12 times but this time using different colours,

There is a section on crocheting providing step by step crocheting stitches from loops to doubles to treble and their corresponding chart keys and short codes.

Before the individual circle, square or hexagon motif instructions, there are pages of colour photography to show each motif & its page number so you can easily choose one you like the look of. The one I'd like to try first is the Pretty Posy, especially as I could see this being made into a cushion cover easily.

There are 10 circle motifs, 13 square motifs and 7 hexagon motif patterns to follow. Each has simple to follow instructions, details on how to create each flower motif and use crocheting to add an outline or join multiple flowers together to make a project. There is a colour photograph to show each pattern.

There are 5 projects provided which are a lovely potholder, a beautiful scarf, a useful tote bag, a warm blanket & wonderful throw..

The beginning chapters does recommend which loom to use, but if you cannot get one or are too impatient to get started there are templates to make your own looms at the rear.

Next time I visit Hobbycraft I will certainly be looking out for a loom to be able to add some extra details and variety to my own crocheting.

I received this book from netgalley in return for a honest review.

I have had a set of crochet looms setting in my craft room for years collecting dust. Now I have wiped off the dust and can begin making beautiful afghans, pot holders, and more with the awesome book.

I was never really sure just what to do wit the looms or how to make them thick enough, or really how to do much with them. This book is filled with 30 easy to follow projects.

The patterns tells you which size loom to use, how many colors to work with, which yarns work best, and a list of the tools you will need to complete the project.

Making the blooms on the loom doesn't really take that long at all. In no time you can have enough blooms for a king size blanket. The connecting is what takes a bit longer. Come are just made by sewing the blooms together, others you need to crochet around each bloom to connect them.

The designs in this book are all beautiful and can be done in as many and any colors you choose. There are projects from pot holders to blankets and everything in between.

I received this book from the Author or Publisher via Netgalley.com to read and review.

Crochet Loom Blooms
30 Fabulous Crochet Flowers & Projects
by Haafner Linssen
This is a book I requested from NetGalley and the review is voluntary.
This is a beautiful book filled with colorful and instructive pictures to show a person how to make items with a crochet bloom. I have been wanted to try this. I don't know the first thing about crocheting and this step by step instructions on many items and the many awesome designs was so intriguing that I can't wait to try! I feel excited that I could do this with the directions from this book. The results look wonderful. The book explains the type of needle, the yarn, the steps, just everything! I am definitely buying this book! I would suggest it for anyone already into crochet too. It also would be great for that crafty person in your life that seems to have everything.

Super book, well put-together! I have crocheted for many years, but have yet to find a loom to make these stunning flowers. Great photos and graphs included too!

It is the Easter holidays, my kids are off school for 4 weeks. My 8 year old daughter and I have used this book to make large flowers on some of her round looms with the goal of turning them into bunting. The instructions are very clear and the illustrations are easy enough for her to follow. I do not want to delve deeper into making scarves, clothing, mats etc but my daughter is very interested. I might need to find a willing teenager to start a project with her. This book has been a springboard for my daughter’s imagination. I highly recommend.

Personally, I’ve always preferred traditional crocheting and knitting over using a loom. But with the simple instructions from this book, it really made crocheting flowers really easy and faster. I can really see why people would want to use a loom. The book is very beginner friendly and gives helpful information on the different kinds of looms and how you can put them together to create these amazing blooms. The authors even included a crocheting tutorial for the people who need a bit of a refresher course. There are instructions to make thirty different flowers, in various shapes from circles to squares, hexagons, and even triangles. The diagrams and charts that are included are incredibly helpful in the making of the flowers. There are also clearly marked skill levels for each flower, though honestly, the directions are so clear and simple, I feel like I could create all thirty flowers. There are patterns for a blanket, scarf, and bag so that you can take what you’ve learned and put them together. The book also included directions for creating a loom out of cardboard in case you don’t own a loom already. All in all, this was an enjoyable project book that really makes crocheting flowers simple, no matter what your skill level is.

There are THIRTY different flowers to chose from, in circles, squares, hexagons, and even a triangle. The photos are sumptuous, and the instructions are clear and well written. There are diagrams and charts that are very helpful in making the flowers. There are clearly marked skill levels for each flower, but with the detailed, helpful instructions from the author, I feel like I could tackle any of the flowers with some practice!

There are also five patterns that a reader could use to "put it all together" in a scarf, bag, or blanket. There are even instructions in the back for making your own flower loom out of cardboard if you don't own a loom. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in beautiful crochet flowers.

Wonderful colour, fabulous ideas, easy to follow and informative, this book ticks all the boxes for a craft that a bit of a mystery to us in what to do with it. Incorporating crochet with the blooms that are produced from the flower loom makes the projects so contemporary and the colours used make them very "must have"

Ahh, Crochet. Something that I always say I want to learn to do but never do anything with it beyond reading books about it and looking at the pretty pictures. This time I am reading all about how to make various crochet flowers. The book contains 30 fabulous flowers and projects. Most of these flowers are done with a loom, which might be a bit easier for me to figure out... even though it features a handful of different kinds of looms. It then goes in to talk about what kinds of yarns you should use as well as colors - this page was especially interesting because it showed the same flower made with 12(!) different color sets and they all looked wildly different from each other. Then it goes into different techniques for different flowers. BRB, buying myself a loom, these are all so pretty!!!! It also features some crochet techniques as well. These all go over my head but there are photos included with the instructions so if you have any idea what you are doing it should be easy to follow the stitching instructions. Then you can join everything together to make really fun flowery things like doilies or I suppose even blankets if you have enough flowers made!

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

I have done crochet for years and am always on the look out for news ideas to be incorporated into a piece of crochet. Therefore, this book immediately caught my eye! Not only does it have a beautiful cover, but the ideas that came from it had me intrigued!

It shows you how to create these wonderful flower motifs on a loom. I've never used a loom in crochet before, but the book gives clear instructions on who to do this, and I have to admit the end results are stunning. There are lots of examples of different types of flowers to create and the instructions to do them. There are also then instructions on how to sew them together in a blanket, a scarf, cardigan, cushion....to be honest, you could used these to make a wide variety of things.

The book has lots of colour photos and diagrams to help you along the way. Whilst, you don't really need to know how to crochet to do the loom work, you will need to know how to crochet to make them into anything! Unfortunately you don't get a loom with the book, but what you do get is lots of ideas and instructions into creating some stunning pieces of work. I will definitely be keeping my eyes open for a loom whilst on my shopping travels as I certainly want to give this a go!

Fantastic!

The flowers pictured in the book are gorgeous! They seem to be easy to crochet together once made, and look stunning. If you don't own a flower loom, there are instructions on how to make your own, and specifics on which to buy if you want to buy the manufactured brand. I don't currently own a loom, but after looking through this book, and reading the instructions for using the loom, I'm definitely going to use my next Michael's coupon on one. These are really inventive ways to use a loom to it's full potential, while still requiring basic crochet skills to assemble the flowers. Definitely take a look at this book and see if it inspires you too.

My daughter discovered her love of crocheting a while ago and ever since she has been crocheting non-stop. When I saw this book I fell in love with its flowers and the possibilities it offers and when my daughter saw this book - she ordered a flower loom. She has been working on several flowers already and she loves it. The instructions are easy to follow and everything is well explained so it is really fun to work with this book. I'm really looking forward to all the wonderful flowers she is creating!
Needless to say that we'll have to get this book in print as well.

Adorable!

Crochet Loom Blooms is full of adorable flowers made with crochet looms. The lovely flowers are clearly photographed, and each bloom has step-by-step instructions which seem easy to follow, as well as a clear pattern.. Joining techniques, embellishments and basic crochet stitches are explained, and the loom tips allow for freestyle bloom creation.

Towards the back of the book, there are different project ideas for using the flower motifs. The color choices are gorgeous, and the pattern names (Secret Forest, Alpine Meadow, Bumblebee's Favorite) are whimsical and memorable.

This is a must-have for me, and would be a great addition to any home fiber artist's book collection or public library. Oh! And combined with a loom, would make a wonderful gift.

I haven’t been as excited about a book ever as this gem. There won’t be a flower loom left on the shelves after people pick this book up. Fans of Sophie Digard will swoon. There are so many beautiful dainty flowers and ideas you could be doing these for years. I don’t have a flower loom yet but it’s ordered now. I can’t say enough about this book, I mean I’m gushing. Gorgeous, gorgeous and more gorgeous. There is not a flower I don’t want to make, just pages and pages of these beautiful concoctions. Oh and my head is spinning thinking of the blankets, runners, doilies, shawls, scarves, hats, and I could go on and on. This is on my must buy in print also list. Thank you tothe author, I am now your biggest fan.
