Rob has a hard road ahead of him. He has to live with the knowledge that it was his job which cost him the life of his wife and two daughters. Not an easy. Ross to bear and one that he is barely able to acknowledge. His survival depends on vengeance on those who planned and executed the attack and after a couple of years it is within his sights.

Rob has kept a low profile though observed throughout by interested parties on either side of the fence. Now with his recent covert operations he is back in the limelight and there are parties on the other side who are also seeking revenge for loss of their own.

With the help of Special Operations and a supporting cast, Rob goes back into Yemen into an area of almost impossible terrain on his biggest operation yet.

Apart from the thread of revenge this story is a polished account of how I presume a special operation would work giving in detail the procedure and manner in which such a dangerous journey is accomplished.

Just another series with very little to set it apart. A decent read with some good SF parts but not enough to save it for me

Could not finish so it only gets three stars. I have not read any of the previous novels of the series and would not have started this one if I had. This actually could have been a good read if it had gone through some heavy editing but since it is self-published there was none.

"The Girl and Her Twin-Engine Otter" is a mixed bag to my liking. I certainly enjoyed reading it but I don't feel satisfied upon finished it. Nothing much is devoted to "the girl" and her engine. Despite the role of "the girl" to save the protagonist is vital to the plot development but her character is definitely underdeveloped.

The title and the cover of the book therefore are misleading. I thought the book would focus on "the girl" who was to assist Rob, the protagonist, in his clandestine mission for the government which he could use the opportunity to retaliate against the person who killed his family. But the plot development of "the girl" whose name is Kelly Carson is certainly NOT the main focus of the book. Besides, there is a subplot of another undercover agent, Bonnie McCord, which has absolute nothing to do with "the girl" and her "twin-engine otter." I could see the subplot would be the author's next book to the series. True, the few pages about how "the girl" Kelly used her skill of flying the engine to save Rob and his team were exciting, but the rest of the book had nothing much to do with Kelly. Regardless the reading experience was pleasant enough but I was disappointed anyhow. A pure entertaining kind of book which I think would make a great script for an action movie. But as a book, I wanted and was looking for more.

I might consider reading the author's first book about Rob's previous assignment and possibly will want to find out what will happen to Bonnie in the author's next book.
