Rescuing an industrial spy from the hands of a criminal mastermind is a suicide mission for the GhostWalkers. And there's no one more up to the task than Gino Mazza. He's the perfect killing machine--a man driven by demons so dark and destructive that his blighted soul has given up trying to find solace. But his laser-sharp focus on his target has transformed into something nearing desire.
A treasonous senator dangled top secret GhostWalker data in front of a Chinese crime lord, and he bit. Zara Hightower, one of the world's leading experts on artificial intelligence, was sent in to psychically wipe the crime lord's computer network. She succeeded, but at a huge cost. Now she's the captive of a man who has descended into paranoid madness. Torture and death await her...
But GhostWalkers never leave one of their own in enemy territory. And it's up to Gino to save Zara, or kill her if it turns out she's led them into a trap. Either way, heaven or hell won't stop him...

First off I want to start off this review by saying I had no idea this was book 14 in the series when I requested it (my bad) so this was the first book I had read in the series. In saying that I still really loved it and I think if I had read the rest of the series it would of been a 5 star read.

This book had the perfect mix of romance, adventure and character development. I found it really addictive and I had to keep reading once I started it so it was a quick read for me. It took a little while for me to wrap my head around the Ghost-walkers but like I said I think if I had read the other books in the series this would of not been an issue. I found the whole concept very interesting and it has made me very excited to read the other books (I have already ordered the first book in the series).

I ended up rating this 4 out of 5 stars and I am hoping once I read the other books this will become a 5 star series once I get a better idea about the Ghost-walkers and how they all came about etc and why they do the things they do. That was the only issue I had with this book was I was a little lost and the romance happened so quickly but I think that will be explained throughout the first 13 books.

Dark, gritty, angsty and action packed.
This book had my gut in knots and tears falling down my face.
For those who have read and followed Christine Feehan's Ghostwalker series, you will know that while we, the readers, have caught glimpses of Dr. Peter Whitney's madness and seen flashbacks of his past crimes through the heroines' minds and have heard numerous times that Whitney has no regard for the female characters safety and sends them out on hazardous missions - never before though, have we actually experienced the trauma so completely with the character and been so fully treated to the danger and terror of the missions that Whitney sends his soldiers on.
Covert Games brings together the darkly, dominant, fiercely protective, Gino Mazza and the highly intelligent, beautiful and strong, Zara Hightower.
After a treasonous senator shares details of the Ghostwalker program with foreign interests, Dr. Peter Whitney, orders Zara to retrieve the information.
When Zara is caught and held hostage, Gino Mazza's Ghostwalker team is sent in to retrieve her and as soon as Gino learns of Zara, he knows that he will do anything to protect her because she is exactly what he's been looking for.
This book was dark, beautiful and brilliant.
I absolutely loved it and highly recommend it.

I really enjoyed the book. Christine Feehan never disappoints. Her characters are always so real and chemistry is out of this world. There is action, love and so much more.
