Vega is the pack princess, she is half wolf and half vampire. She has finished college and has been recruited by a special black ops organization for paranormal. Gabriel is her packs Guardian and was Vega’s bodyguard for years, until his attraction got to be too much and left. He knows they are mates but was shown the future and he sees Vega die in his arms, so he has kept his distance.
The op she is on is to find a wolf who is trying to sell the location of paranormal. He is hiding on Gabriel’s cousins land. They go in as a couple to find out where the traitor hid the evidence. But the whole plan goes haywire when a dragon is on the property, voices are calling to Vega, and Gabriel is fighting his feelings for Vega.
My favorite book in this series so far. It’s funny, exciting, sexy, and will keep you turning the pages until the very end. I hope she writes one about the dragon next. Told in third person and several pov. Ms.Reus has definitely written a winner in this one.

Gabriel doesn't like thinking other men have been showering his woman, “where’d you get that necklace? Did a male give it to you?” Gabriel’s voice was neutral enough but his wolf flashed in his eyes and stayed there." Vega isn't afraid to tell her man what she really thinks, “sometimes you’re kind of a dum****,” she whispered. “But you’re my dum****..." I liked this book, I loved Gabriel.

I was waiting so long for this book! Ever since the first book of the Darkness Series I was waiting for a book about Gabriel and/or Vega. That we get them both in one package was just the cherry on top!
Both characters had way more depth than I would have ever thought from the previous books. Vega always appeared a bit stubborn, but the backbone she developed during her college years and throughout this book made her one of my favorite characters of this series.
Gabriel always seemed like “second best” to Finn, the alpha, but what we learned about his past and how he treated Vega, deciding to do what he did in the end was so great! I really felt with the changes he went through during this book and can’t wait to meet them again in later books.
The plot was a great story, really well developed without any plotholes or discrepancies that would have confused me. I really like Katie Reus’ writing style, because while it’s easy to read it is never simple, instead her words support her plot and are able to paint beautiful pictures in my mind. It had me captured from the beginning and I honestly couldn’t put the book down till I was finished.
I thought this book would be the last one of the Darkness series, but what we got instead was the chance on even more great shifter books from this exceptionally talented author. I have great respect for her to be able to keep up the quality in her writing and can’t wait for her next captivating read.

Let me start by saying that I really love Katie Reus books. She is an Auto buy for me on my kindle. The Guardian of darkness kind of felt like a filler book to me until the next book that will come out. Vega and Gabriel’s relationship kind of jumped around a lot and I couldn’t really get a sense of them as characters. I enjoyed some of the side characters more than I like the two main ones. Overall this was a good book and would recommend it as a way to progress more into this shifter world.

I’m a big fan of Guardian of Darkness series by KR. I’ve been waiting on Gabriel’s story for awhile. We had to wait for Vega to grow up some. It was worth the wait. Vega and Gabriel are a great couple. Gabriel had a vision of Vega’s death so he’s been doing his best to avoid her. Fate wins out and love wins. It was a great win and I look forward to the next one

Stavros pack princess Vega is a unique individual. She’s half shifter, half vampire, with very powerful parents and friends. But she doesn’t want to be locked in a protective bubble forever. When she’s tapped for undercover work, she feels she’s finally found her calling. Except for one small snafu. Her longtime crush who also happens to be her father’s Guardian, Gabriel.

After a forced vision of his future showing his mate dying, Gabriel tried to change his fate by leaving his pack and joining the Stavros pack. All was well until Vega and her mother show up (Darkness Awakened) and throw his plans awry. Now Vega is all grown up, and Gabriel is finding it harder and harder to deny himself the one thing he’s ever truly wanted.

Guardian was a fairly fast-paced read. I loved the twists with Vega’s case and her team, Gabriel’s inadvertent family reunion, and updated progress on Finn and Lyra (Vega’s parents) relationship. I also liked the sexy tension between Vega and Gabriel. My only complaint would be with everything else going on, I felt like the relationship was squeezed in and rushed through. I was hoping for just a smidge more focus on Vega and Gabriel relationship. Otherwise, I found the story highly entertaining and I hope to see more entries in the future.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

It doesn’t seem to matter how much time goes by between reads, this series always draws me right back into this world. I loved watching Vega grow and now seeing her come into her own and get her mate was wonderful. Find me someone who doesn’t want a Gabriel of their own and I’ll call their bluff. If your looking for a great paranormal romance, with action and laughs this is it but I highly recommend going to the beginning and working your way here.
This was a complimentary advanced reader copy provided by the author/publisher in exchange for a honest review via Netgalley.

Guardian of Darkness (Darkness, #7) by Katie Reus ...I don't know what to say...on pins and needles reading this...a real page turner ...thanks to #NetGalley for allowing me to review this book..( I also pre-ordered a copy) and will post reviews on Amazon and Barnes & Noble when it is released. This is Gabriel (werewolf shifter and Guardian of his pack) Vega ("princess" of the pack part vampire part werewolf) She joins the Black Ops and he follows to protect her. The journey to catch a traitor is full of danger, love, laughs, tears and a truly good story. I'll say no more because I don't want to spoil the story... they get to their HEA.... Can't wait for the next Darkness book.

Firstly, a thank you for the advance copy from Katie Reus and Netgalley and I willingly leave my honest review! Secondly, what an amazingly well written and thought out book! I love the Darkness series and honestly didn’t think we were going to get anymore books in this series, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it on offer! Gabriel as we know has been an integral part of the Stavros Pack as Guardian to the Alpha. He doesn’t talk much about his past or how he came to the Stavros Pack even though Finn knows where he came from, he just doesn’t know why he left his old Pack. Gabriel had a vision forced on him that showed his future mate dying in his arms - so to ensure it never happened he left and joined up with Finn. Years later Vega and her mother Lyra show up and Gabriel realises that Vega was his mate in the vision!

Vega as a hybrid is cautious as she knows from previous experience that her blood is unique and she is often targeted. Gabriel and her were friends when she first arrived with her mother, but for the last year he has severed his friendship with her and she can’t understand why! Now she is working and has Gabriel on her trail....!

Such a great read, the pages literally turn themselves:)
