When I requested The Game, I did not know it was book two in a trilogy that does not stand on its own. It also wasn't marketed as erotica, which I don't enjoy reading. As such, I will not be reading or reviewing this book. Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Received in exchange for a honest review.
The cat and mouse game between Tobias and Zara has really heated up. Zara is on his tail and heals and in California where she knows he is and knows who he is. Only Tobias doesn’t acknowledge it in a way that she wants. He doesn’t shy away either. He has noble reasons for his actions and Zara, although understanding about that, doesn’t like it.
Zara gets to learn about him as well. He sees that vision he has and his museum is amazing. Zara sees old friends, gives a lecture and truly learns more about herself and Tobias. What she learns about the paintings from her home do have her do some rash dangerous things that expose Tobias in ways he didn’t want while also getting the law on their heels and Zara’s company she works for as well.
The story expands and becomes more complex with more subtle nuances that the reader appreciates because they add more depth and suspense and also a hint of mischievousness as well. Tobias and Zara gain a new depth and in a way openness. There isn’t any pussyfooting the elephant in the room but it adds a new dimension to their relationship. Zara reacts to what she knows and Tobias uses this for entertainment and to show her he trusts her and also supports her. You see that he loves her and is taking a huge risk with her but she doesn’t always see this. And what is driving her isn’t chasing Icon right now but finding out more about the paintings of her past. Those that were a part of her childhood and ones she loves. At some point it becomes a singular focus and not just because of the paintings but because of the implications and what she can prove with them and expose. Only she doesn’t see the big picture and throws caution to the wind. A interesting moment for Zara to see. She is usually more pragmatic and level headed. Tobias’ s character grows more open and less boxed in. He has found one to trust and let in and he does with Zara. He enjoys the banter and cat and mouse game. In a way I think the toying around with Zara is flirting and foreplay for him. He is at ease with himself and their situation. At the end he is placed in a precarious situation that changes the rules and plan but he doesn’t fuss instead deals and changes his plans. He is now in a run for more than he thought and I think it stimulates him.
The romance portion is steamy and heats up the suspense. It adds a dimension to the game for them. More intrigue and tension but also more sparks and danger. It brings another element to their relationship and shows how dynamic the characters and story is. A stay on the edge of your seat story that really blows the mind and adds a new dimension to cat and mouse chase of a game and romance in and of itself while keeping you truly enthralled in the tale. And that ending has you wondering how they are going to work out and what are they going to do next.

Zara follows Tobias to LA to convince him to turn himself in as Icon before he gets caught or hurt. Tobias first tries to send her back to London. But when she slips out of his chauffeurs' guard. Tobias charms her and tries to convince her to trust him. I do not how she thinks she can beat him, he is rich and has many toys at his disposal to stay ahead of her. She should of focus on the feelings he has for her to stop being Icon.
Tobias keeps sharing how Icon does return things to good people.
There is much action. Zara should have back up for the things she does.
She is almost arrested for suspicion of being Icon. (Really -do they think she is physically strong enough to rappel through a sky light.
I can not wait for the prize.
Will Zara and Tobias get their HEA and what about the warrant for their? arrest. I assume 1 would be for Tobias since he got her to escape arrest.

Book 2 of this series had our intrepid Art investigator Zara Leighton falling down the rabbit hole of lust and attraction as Tobias has swept her off her feet, but the more she gets to know about Tobias, the more clues to who ICON is start to point to Tobias, and Zara is now facing the ultimate dilemma. Zara has always ‘done the right thing’ her new job is on the line, and when a painting appears that cast’s doubt on her father and therefore her integrity, Tobias is there to help… Will Zara give into her heart or listen to her head?
The Author takes you on a tumultuous journey into the art world where the Mega rich will do anything to own a priceless piece of art.
We learn more about why ICON is selective in his targets, and I couldn’t help but route for him, and hoped that Zara would listen to her heart. I was ‘googling ‘ pictures as they were described in the book, as the descriptive writing intrigued me to actually see if I could see what Zara saw in each painting. It was fun, and that’s the one benefit of an e-book… I know I could just type it into a search engine if I was reading a paperback… but I am lazy sometimes and it’s just a click of a finger on my kindle!
There is more action in this book, and the storyline keeps you glued to the pages, I dived into book 3 as soon as I finished.
I really enjoyed the book and I think I will miss these characters when I have finished.
*** This review is my honest opinion, I have not received any compensation for reviewing it, it's just my thoughts after reading and I hope you found my thoughts useful***

Chasing Icon, the world’s most notorious art thief, was the most seductive thrill of art investigator Zara Leighton’s career…until the clues led her to the man who holds command of her body and heart, Tobias Wilder, a billionaire with charisma to spare. Her duty to capture him is complicated by the intensity of their passion. Her will to end their connection is tinted with red-hot need to never let him go.Tobias’s heists are about more than money or ego, but no one ,not even Zara can guess at his true motivation. When I started reading I couldn't put it down I read the book in one day.Vanessa is magnifysent writer.I cannot wait to read more of her books.Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.

Very enjoyable read, filled with love and intrigue, Tobias was a total man of mystery and his chemistry with Zara was off the charts.

This is the second book in the trilogy and is even better than the first. Lots of action and twist in this story line

Zara and Tobias make the ultimate couple. This one takes place in LA and has layer by layer revealed in the Icon story. A few times I wanted to grab Zara or Tobias and say what are you doing! Ahh the breakfast scene, a dream of ever girl. I can't wait for the last one in the triology. I need it now!
