When Dr. Joshua Crawford witnesses a pregnant woman being forced into a car, he steps in to protect her. Using his MMA training, he takes down her kidnapper, and rescues her from whatever they had planned for her. Then he discovers that she is in labor, and her pains indicate that birth is imminent. Even though the nearest hospital is still over an hour away, she insists he take her there. They barely get back on the road before he has to stop to deliver the baby. When he discovers that the woman is Kaylee Martin, daughter of his mother's new fiance, he can't believe his bad luck. Why his mother would choose to marry the town's drunk is beyond him, but is Kaylee cut from that same cloth?
When Kaylee's mob-connected husband is murdered, she flees to the only safety she can think of - her father's hometown. There she can be anonymous, except, someone has found her. Can she keep her baby out of the hands of whoever has tracked her down or will she forfeit her life to keep him safe?
As Josh does all he can to keep Kaylee safe, he can't always be with her. When her baby is kidnapped, can they figure out where he is before he vanishes for good?
I love Lynette Eason's Love Inspired Suspense books! They are just the right length to ratchet up the suspense, and still get a good bit of romance going. I would definitely recommend Vanished in the NIght.

I've read some of this author's other works, and I've loved LIS (Love-Inspired Suspense) books since the local librarian suggested them to me while I was in Middle-School. I was looking for a mystery that was clean and yet still well written.
This one delivers! Danger, romance, chemistry, and mystery? Yes!

Good levels of suspense, had me anxious to see the conclusion of the book. I'm a bit miffed that when I first looked at the book it seemed to be a straight up mystery/suspense romance novel but in fact when you start reading you quickly realize that though it's a suspenseful read, it's also peppered with large amounts of religious references. I know many would either not notice or find them soothing, but yet I felt it would've been nice to know in advance.
The characters are fairly well fleshed out and you can understand where they're coming from, except the villain but then it's not always easy to put yourself in the mind of a stalker or killer..... The plot moves fluidly and at a good pace with no big skips and jumps in time.
4.5 stars

Vanished in the Night is the 6th book in Eason's Wrangler's Corner series and one that I enjoyed quite a bit. There were a few things in the story that bugged me a little bit, but for the most part I found it to be a suspense and interesting read.
I liked the characters. The romance wasn't a favorite, but it wasn't bad either. I liked how the hero of the story right away was protective of infant -- that was sweet. The mystery was intense and definitely made for a quick read, as I wanted to see how it would end.
All in all, I enjoyed Vanished in the Night and recommend it if you like romantic suspense. You don't need to read this series in order.

This is another wonderful novel from Lynette Eason. She maintains her wonderful writing style and makes you glad you picked up the book. When an innocent bystander happens upon a very pregnant woman in an attempted kidnapping. He runs the kidnapper away just in time to deliver the baby in the back of his truck. Turns out he is a doctor and is coming home to stop his mother from marrying, surprise, the pregnants womans father. Through many twists and turns, laughter and tears, and a race against the clock, you will not want to miss Vanished in the Night. Recommended for all. Christian Approved.

Danger is popping up around every corner! An exciting plot grabs out attention from the start and holds it throughout in Lynette Eason’s latest in the Wrangler’s Corner series. The characters are complex and well developed and the story line is exciting. I enjoyed it!
Dr. Joshua Crawford happens to be in the right place at the right time to stop Kaylee Martin from being abducted … and then to delivery her baby boy! He’s not sure what’s going on with all of this danger, but he can’t bring himself to leave her side without knowing she and her baby are going to be safe!
Kaylee Martin is stressed out enough by moving back home to Wrangler’s Corner just before her baby is due, but when someone tries to kidnap her while she’s in labor, she doesn’t know what to think! She had a stalker recently … but he’s in custody … isn’t he??

Vanished In The Night is one great big horror story - ok - a horror story for every Mom out there - someone stalking to kill you and most of all your baby. Your precious gift from the Almighty. The good Doctor was able to help the pregnant stranger can he help the new Mama? Who is the stalker/killer? What is GOD's plan for them? Do they listen to HIM?

Vanished in the Night by Lynette Eason is a book in the Wrangler’s Corner series. I am a huge fan of Lynnette’s and this book did not disappoint. The opening scene captures your attention and breath as Kaylee, a very pregnant woman, is being abducted. Joshua happens upon the attempted abduction. She was on her way to the hospital to have her baby. Joshua is a doctor and tries to convince her they are not going to make it to the hospital.
She has the baby—- I won’t spoil it for you as to whether she makes it to the hospital or not to have the baby.
It was funny that she and Joshua were both in town because their parents are about to get married; to each other. Neither of them wants their parent to marry the other one.
They are distracted from their parent’s situation as someone continues to try and kidnap her and/or the baby. Joshua was a doctor who had taken MMA for stress relieve during his residency. It put him in a good position to help protect her. Kaylee unlike many heroines did not put herself into ridiculous positions. She was smart about protecting herself and her son Duncan.

Dr. Joshua Crawford is returning to Wrangler's Corner, when he interrupts an attempted kidnapping of a woman about to give birth. They don't have time to make it to the hospital, so he delivers the child.
Kaylie Martin is a widow, she was on her way to the hospital when a van pulls in front of her. She is grateful for Joshua's help delivering her son Duncan. On the way home someone starts shoots at them, and the adventure begins...
Joshua and Kaylie must work together to find out who is behind the attacks to keep Kaylie and baby Duncan safe. The problem is that there are a lot of options, Kaylie's late husband had connections to organized crime, and Kaylie used to have a stalker.
Joshua jumps right in, and is committed to protecting Kaylie and her son. But when Duncan is taken, they must work together to stop the kidnapper before it's too late.
Joshua is a strong and compassionate Christian man, he is surprised by how fast he has come to care for Duncan and Kaylie, and he is determined to protect them.
Kaylie is smart and capable, she realizes that she needs help and can't do everything on her own, she leans on her faith, and doesn't give up. I like how she stays calm in a tough situation.
Action-packed and suspenseful, yet full of surprises. Kaylie and Joshua have great interaction, and come to trust each other throughout the ordeal. This is a fantastic read from beginning to end, Lynette Eason has never let me down yet!

Once again Lynette has written another mystery/love story that kept me up all night till I finished it. Thank you NetGalleyfor a wonderful read.

Kaylee was in labor when she was found in the process of being kidnapped at the side of the road, thankfully Dr. Joshua was there to help her out and run the kidnapper off. Also turns out that Dr. Joshua mother will be marrying Kaylees father so quite the coincidence. Thing is things only go from bad to worse as a couple more attempts at her and her child's life but luckily Dr. Joshua as well as others will be there to keep an eye out for the two.
Sheesh this book was nuts. There was so much going on, so many twists and turns and girl can't catch a break. What I loved about this book was that there was barely enough time before something else occurs keeping the characters as well as the readers on their toes on wondering what would happen next. Wondering how the kidnapper was getting close to her and why everything was playing out the way it did. This was such a great book I really enjoyed it and was hooked from the view start and think you reader will too. Highly Recommend!

Rating: 3.5/5
This is an engaging romantic suspense novel which starts with someone trying to kidnap a pregnant lady, Kaylee Martin, but being thwarted by the timely intervention of Dr Joshua Crawford. He also gets to deliver the baby and to discover she’s the daughter of the man his mother is planning to marry! Your interest is grabbed from the very start and taken along this roller coaster, fast paced adventure to the very end. The heroine is a determined young lady who has had misfortune in her life and recently being the target of a stalker. Now she’s returning to her home town and more attempts are made on her life but Joshua keeps coming to her rescue and is persistent in his efforts to keep her and her baby son safe. Can they discover who is after her? Can they both resist their attraction to each other?
This is a contemporary romance, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing - especially toward the end of the book where everything comes to a climax. I liked the plot and the characters. The family dynamics and relationships were gently explored. It is an enjoyable contemporary romance and I don’t think you need to have read the earlier books in this series to enjoy this one. Why the lower rating? I somehow didn't feel the suspense for much of the story. Someone pointed a gun and there was no fear there . . . . I'm not quite sure how to explain it, but there was just something slightly missing to make me connect with the events. However, that's probably just me and you may well love it. I still enjoyed it and wanted to know what happened and why.
I requested and was given a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

The author has given us a mother’s worse nightmare, and you will be wondering who is the target here, and it will keep you guessing right to the very end. After the last page is turned you will be asking why, and while I found that I had read this in one sitting, you will be quickly page turning.
With danger lurking from the very beginning to the end, there is never a dull moment. With the birth of a new baby, kidnapping, bullets flying, and questioning the marriage of their parents, this one should keep your attention.
I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Harlequin, and was not required to give a positive review.

With a smart and capable heroine, a sweet and caring hero, dealing with the worst nightmare to any mother, while constant danger lurking around, and life changes at the doorstep, the story has all the elements of a great and entertaining romantic suspense at its hands.
I loved that Kaylee Martin, the heroine, was smart with her safety, was careful and considerate of the danger lurking around, and didn't take risks that she would regret later on. She doesn't stubbornly hold her convictions but is willing to see the other side of the matters and be flexible when needed. She has some serious issues from her childhood to be dealt with, to get over the resentment towards her father, and accept the change he has gone through.
Joshua Crawford came to town to stop his mother from marrying Kaylee's father, yet Kaylee, and especially her newborn son Joshua delivers, steal his heart and attention. Joshua is an MMA fighting doctor, who loves babies, and whose heart was previously broken by a single mother. He is determined to keep Kaylee and little Duncan safe, he is a kind and sweet man, willing to go to lengths to protect those he cares about.
The danger and the threat towards Kaylee and little Duncan are constant. It seems that there is no safe place where the culprits do not find their way into. A bit more edgy fear-factor could have built the tangible intensity to another level, yet the suspense is believable, the action harsh and deadly at the end.
The inner turmoil Kaylee goes through, questioning her faith in God, the possible change in her father, the loss of her mother, and then the danger to her child gives the story a measure of angst, tumult, and a chance for her to grow. In midst of all the trouble and danger, the safe haven and shelter Joshua provides to Kaylee in his arms is rather adorable. The connection between them is palpable, as it is between Duncan and Joshua as well. I just wondered through the story, why didn't Kaylee breastfeed her infant, newborn son? From the very first, there is a bottle and formula mix in the picture and I find that curious.
A charming and gentle love story with dangerous suspense and action, a dose of threat and angst, with an apprehension of upcoming parental marriage are the elements that deliver an entertaining and engaging tale of love, life, change, and faith.
~ Three Spoons with a teaspoon on the side

This is a terrific story, but I have one suggestion to make. The editor needs to work with the author on "showing" and not "telling". Vanished in the Night was one of those stories where I continually wanted to see what would happen next, but it needed to be brushed up a little to make it really sparkle. I had no sense of danger when a gun was pulled, felt no fear when the character was in labor in a treacherous situation, but I should have! The chemistry was solid between the two characters and that is where the shine started to happen in the story.
I also appreciate a female character who acts sensibly in situations instead of the stereotype of acting silly and without regard for cautions that are given.

This book started off grabbing my interest and didn't let go. Joshua is coming home to stop his mother's marriage. How he saved Kaylee and helped her was so great. Him a doctor and her a nurse was great and sets it up great for him to take over a practice in Wrangler's Corner.
Watching Joshua try to keep his distance from Kaylee and Duncan was touching. He didn't want to hurt them or be hurt in return. He thought he had a plan for his life but sometimes God has different plans if we will listen. Unraveling the mystery surrounding someone targeting Kaylee was great. I had it in my mind one way and then changed it and I have to say that I enjoyed how the author worked it all out.
It was a 4/5 for me. I cannot wait to visit Wrangler's Corner again!
Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

"Vanished in the Night" is a romantic suspense novel. Though a part of a series, it worked as a standalone. The book is short, so things happened very fast. The hero and heroine fell in love practically as soon as they met for the first time. There were only a few attacks on the heroine before the ending suspense sequence happened. There weren't very many suspects. It was more about figuring out who was doing what and where to find them.
The physical danger to Kaylee and her baby caused the suspense. I liked the main characters. The heroine picked her battles, was willing to accept help, made good decisions about safety, and could think on her feet and defend herself. The hero was caring, a doctor, and a mixed martial artist who was good at defending her.
There was no bad language or sex. Overall, I'd recommend this enjoyable novel.
