This was a tough read. It doesn’t seem that Owl leans at all for past mistakes. She still shoves people away and doesn’t things on her own without thinking. I was hoping for more character development in her by now.

Even though I have that opinion, I still liked the book. There was a lot of scrapes and near misses with Owl and the baddies. And then there is the Electric Samurai who is Ryan. Taking over the world, destroying the world, all of it was a mess. Owl ran around crazy and made the story work.

Oh Owl, you haven't grown a bit since the first book, still don't look before you leap.

Owl spends another book running around exotic locals, this time looking for a way to save her boyfriend Rynn from a life threatening situation, all while avoiding a brewing supernatural war.

As I mentioned earlier, Owl has not grown much since the beginning of the series. She still refuses to accept help, yet is rescued in almost every crazy situation she ends up in. Disaster follows where ever she goes, and she doesn't take responsibility for her actions.

The only good thing about this book is that a few people inform Owl of her many issues, and also tell her where exactly to shove it.

I think this may be the last book I read in this series. It's lost most of the fun I found interesting in the first place.

A unique plot and tense, edgy dialog throughout it all. Great way to spend several evening hours! Recommended.

While OWL AND THE TIGER THIEVES didn't quite deliver the gut punch that OWL AND THE ELECTRIC SAMURAI did, it definitely made its mark. The Adventures of Owl series definitely continues to deliver in this installment, with Owl galavanting around the world trying to stop a supernatural war, and getting some thieving done while she's at it. Fast paced and with plenty of plot twists that caught me by surprise, OWL AND THE TIGER THIEVES is an excellent continuation of the series.

Since the synopsis manages to somehow not spoil the previous books, I honestly didn't completely remember where the series had left off. (Why don't books have a "Previously on ... " section like TV shows do??) After reading the last chapter and epilogue of OWL AND THE ELECTRIC SAMURAI, I was all set. I would totally recommend doing the same if your memory is as spotty as mine! Also, I think a significant amount of the plot and emotional nuances of OWL AND THE TIGER THIEVES might be lost on a new reader to the series. While you could probably get away with skipping the first two, definitely pick up OWL AND THE ELECTRIC SAMURAI before this one.

Owl's trademark sarcasm is present throughout the entire book, and while this book has Owl exploring quite a few historical locations and getting in lots of trouble, it also had a emotional depth to it that is a bit of a different vibe than the previous books. Don't get me wrong, there is certainly plenty of action, near misses with supernaturals and barely escaped traps. But Owl also spends a lot of time thinking about her actions and the generally resulting chaos, as well as the choices she made that have led to the situation she's in. With a villain who knows her intimately, OWL AND THE TIGER THIEVES raises the stakes of the series, making it impossible for Owl to be unaffected by what is going on around in the world around her. While previously, she has managed to wiggle her way out of the majority of consequences, in this book, she's hit hard by her past actions and reputation coming back to haunt her.

While Owl is chasing the Tiger Thieves around the globe, she's also trying to figure out what kind of person she is - and what kind of person she wants to be. The decisions she has to make are hard, and though there were stolen artifacts and fights with various supernatural creatures around every corner, the emotions were what really kept me reading, trying to figure out what Owl would decide. All in all, a solid installment in the Adventures of Owl series, and I am again anxiously awaiting the next book.

Owl has a major problem. Her boyfriend Ryan is trapped in the cursed Electric Samurai suit of armor which is getting stronger. Owl is on a quest to find the Tiger Theives, a mythical group that seems to have a handle on controlling supernatural beings to see if they can help her resolve the situation. Her quest leads her from a prison in Peru to Venice to Timbuktu to Istanbul to an abandoned city in India, leaving destruction in her wake. The final confrontation takes place in Tokyo where Owl learns painfully that not all endings are happy ones. The question is , will she finally grow up and accept who and what she is?

Thanks Netgalley for the opportunity to read this volume.

Thanks Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books and netgalley for this ARC.

Owl really has to work hard to get out funny/terrible situations in this one. Around the world and back again with old friends makes this fantasy series a favorite of mine.

Owl and the Tiger Thieves is book 4 in The Adventures of Owl series. I've really been loving this series and knew I had to grab this installment. Owl's human but always seems to get mixed up in trouble with the different paranormal beings along her adventure. This series is like a mash up of a female Indiana Jones with tons of adventure and paranormal issues that pop up at every step Owl takes.

Alix Hiboux aka Owl is an antiquities thief that works for a dragon you do not want to cross. That kind of takes a back seat this novel though since our leading lady is dealing with the fall out of everything that happened in the previous book. Her main goal is to figure out how to stop the Electric Samurai that was unleashed, he's determined on taking over and not afraid to hurt anyone in his path. He's amassing an army and Owl is trying to stay one step ahead while also seeking help from the Tiger Thieves that might be able to stop him. The only issue with that being the Tiger Thieves are well hidden and each time she gets a new clue the Electric Samurai and his minions are there and major destruction seems to occur. This installment is a rush against the clock and I was nervous that Owl might not be able to win this time around.

Owl and the Tiger Thieves is a nonstop adventure that will have you on the edge of your seat. We get to see a bit of a different side of Owl and I'm glad, her character's growing and really trying her best even if she's reckless at times. I'll be interested in where this series goes from here because we got thrown for a loop with this ending that's for sure. If you're a fan of Urban Fantasy with tons of adventure and tons of interesting paranormal beings this is the series for you.

In this fourth Owl novel, Kristi Charish (The Voodoo Killings) melds sparkling fantasy with the grit of urban underbelly—with a detour through the world’s most spectacular cities. This is perfect for fans of Kim Harrison, Jim Butcher, Jennifer Estep, Jenn Bennett, and fantasy lovers everywhere.

Through no fault of her own, Alix has found herself essential to the fate of the world as we know it. She didn’t mean for this to happen—she was quite happy being merely the notorious antiquities thief, and ex-archeologist, known as Owl.

However, years ago, Owl reluctantly entered the secret world of the supernatural. Her goals: complete one job, escape one bounty on her head, continue her thieving in peace.

Fast forward to today. Now, she has become a key player in a brutal paranormal civil war that is rapidly getting out of hand. The leader of one of these factions—a lethal opponent called the Electric Samurai—grows more powerful by the second. To stop him, Owl sets out to find the long-lost, legendary group known as the Tiger Thieves.

But will it be too little too late? One thing Owl misses about “normal” archaeology: there are few emergencies with thousand-year-old relics.

Owl and the Tiger Thieves by Kristi Charish is the fourth book in the Adventures of Owl featuring an antiquities thief and her Mau cat.  In this installment, Owl and her friends are in a race to stop the Electric Samurai, save her incubus boyfriend and the world. Monsters, twists and a little history made Owl and the Tiger Thieves a non-stop action page-turner.

I was given this book by Netgalley for an honest review.

This book is Awesome!! I love Owl and the other characters in this book and series. This series is a fresh take on the Indiana Jones story with a supernatural element thrown in. Owl is on a mission to find something or just about anything to save her boyfriend Rynn from the Electric Samurai Armour.  She hunting the medallions of the Tiger Thieves so she can locate them. In her quest she stumbles across Da Vinci and one of his devices. You are probably wondering what this device does? Well, it kills supernaturals and the Electric Samurai wants it. Now she has supernaturals coming after her for the device and things are going down hill fast. This book has a twist at the end that I did not see coming! I recommend this book and series to everyone. I give Owl and the Tiger Thieves (The Owl Series) 5/ 5 stars.
