Marek is the eleventh book in the Cold Fury Hockey Series. I know what you may be thinking eleven books? How could this series still be going strong? Two words for you HOCKEY GODS! The Cold Fury Hockey Team is full of alpha male hockey players and their spunky counterparts. At the end of the last book Reed, we learned that Marek has a daughter from his first love. With such an explosive discovery, you better believe I couldn't wait to get my hands on this.

Marek Fabritis and Gracen Moore had a passionate romance. When Marek decided he needed to focus on his hockey career, he left Gracen. Gracen soon discovered that she was pregnant. Instead of telling Marek, she kept the baby a secret. When Marek discovers what has happened, Lilly is already three years old. Marek insists that Gracen abandon her plans to marry another man and drags her and Lilly back to North Carolina. Marek is far from ready to be a father nor is he prepared to let go of the anger he has at his ex-flame. Gracen is terrified of getting close to him again only to experience hurt and abandonment all over again. As both struggle to find their way, Lilly is the catalyst that brings them back together.

Told in dual POV, Marek is certainly a unique addition to the series as it deals with such serious subject matter. Both main characters are complex and reluctant to trust each other again. This lack of trust leads to countless misunderstandings and frustrating moments. I found the intensity of their situation to only strengthen their resolve to make things work. It took both characters a great deal of time to work things out, so this could be a problematic plot point to some readers. However, if you are fond of second chance romances with a dash of hockey love than you do not want to miss this passionate story.

Overall, I highly recommend Marek to anyone looking for a dynamic crew of characters thrust into a complex plot of lies, betrayal, passion, and tender romance. Although you can certainly enjoy this piece of hockey goodness as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the entire series! I have become a huge Cold Fury Hockey Addict and this is one addiction I will never want to quit!

Marek is book eleven in the Carolina Cold Fury Hockey series and Ms. Bennett has saved the best for last. This last installment picks up right after Marek moves Gracen and their daughter Lilly home with him to North Carolina. Marek and Gracen’s story had me from the first page. This was a devour in one sitting, stay up to 3am, I’m going to be a zombie at work tomorrow book. Marek struggles with his anger towards Gracen through out most of the book. Gracen struggles with her guilt and that gets worse as Lilly and Marek bond. They may “hate” each other but there’s no denying their attraction to each other and that too is something they both struggle with. I really enjoyed this series and am sad to see it end but have hope that we’ll see the guys somewhere down the road.

I never get tired of the Cold Fury series. I like that you can read them as standalone but the books are so much more fun to read when you know all the back stories. Marek and Gracen have a complicated past and some issues and hurts they have to work out. Their story was enjoyable and their chemistry was real.

This is yet another hit from the Carolina Cold Fury hockey team. It starts with Gracen and Lilly being uprooted from New York and moved into Marek’s house. Marek is extremely angry that Gracen would keep his daughter Lilly a secret from him for three years. He is very mean to Gracen and she eventually decides she can’t stay with Marek anymore and wants to find her and Lilly their own home. Both Marek and Gracen have memories and feelings that are getting in the way of their lives. Eventually they give in to temptation and slowly rebuild their trust. It’s a long journey for both to forgive each other. But it was a great ride to witness. Sawyer Bennett knows how to write hot, angsty, emotional books!

This is a nice second chance romance summer read. However, only three stars given because the story of these two actually started in a previous book that I had not read. I picked up on what happened, but it should've been included in this book as well.

This is a second chance romance of Marek and Gracen, They have to overcome lies, anger, and general drama to get to their HEA. I enjoyed this addition to the Carolina Cold Fury Franchise. I need to go back and catch up on a few of the books in this series. Thanks to Random House Publishing-Loveswept for the ARC of this title via NetGalley.

I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book

At first Marek got on my nerves because he was stuck in the past and an overall a jerk. Then lets not forget that there was Gracen who kept making silly decisions in an attempt to fix some of her family problems. Once I set that aside I was all in and enjoyed their rocky romance.

Sawyer Bennett did a great job with this book and this series. Throughout the series there have been different characters with completely different issues. While Marek and Gracen was not my favorite pair they both had issues that were relatable and feelings that were understandable.

Overall a pretty good addition to the series.

Marek is the 11th book in Sawyer Bennett's Cold Fury Hockey series, Marek & Gracen's story. I love this series and I love the Cold Fury men, this is a second chance romance that is told in dual POV and is a standalone and no previous books need to be read.......but you should read them all!

Marek is fantastic!!!
Emotions held deep, despite changes of circumstance. Communication is the key in any relationship, and using one’s words is integral to growing said relationship. The heart wants what the heart wants.
This was a fabulous rounding out of the Cold Fury Family.

Good read with plenty of drama and suspense. I liked both Gracen and Marek’s story. I found it entertaining and intense. I liked it.

The Cold Fury series has been one of my favorite hockey romances and Bennett has not let me down in her romance writing. This 11th book in the series was just as engaging, just as deep, just as real feeling as all of the others. It actually dealt with a bit more real than most of the others. Marek and Gracen have a lot of ground to cover to reach forgiveness and mend broken trusts between them. But Lilly is the bridge and she was the best one there is. I loved her. This book was emotional and one that I think if you like real issues you will love this book. I definitely recommend it.

Love the Cold Fury Hockey series by Sawyer Bennett! I have been looking forward to Marek since we got to know him in Reed's book. What I do have to say that is that while I like Marek I didnt fall in love with him like the other hockey men. That being said I did enjoy his and Gracen's story.

Marek has just had his whole world turn upside down - the girl he dumped not only almost got married to another guy but she is a mother - to his daughter Lilly. Marek does the only thing he can and thats to force Gracen from New York back to North Carolina to get to know his daughter. Now if he can just get over his anger at Gracen then this horrible situation may get better, if they dont kill each other first.

Gracen feels ashamed and guilt and anger all at the same time for different reasons. She knows that she screwed up by not telling Marek about Lilly but he made it clear he didnt want her anymore all those years ago. Now living in North Carolina with no job, no friends and her first love angry at her how can she turn this bad situation around.

My biggest issue with Marek is Marek himself. I understand his anger and hurt towards Gracen but it takes a long time for him to get over it and in the meantime, he is not very nice. I wanted to see some redeeming qualities and they did come but slowly. Gracen had her own secrets that gave the story some mystery and twists that quite frankly I didn't see coming but overall both of their situations could have been cleared up much quicker. I did love them together once they go there. We also got to see Reed and Josie again and other members of Cold Fury (wow we have come a long way) which is always fantastic.

All in all a solid book in the Cold Fury series.

Marek is an a**hole! He stayed one for most of the book. Gracen was young when she made the mistake of not telling Marek she was having his child. I understood her reasoning. Even if she was wrong, I got it. Marek was a jerk when he broke up with her and a jerk when he found out about Lilly. However, I also understand why he is so upset. About the baby being a secret. I don’t forgive his reasoning for breaking her heart. In my opinion he is lucky she is at his house willing to give him a chance with her and their daughter. I did enjoy the story. It’s very well written and definitely kept my interest. Marek just isn’t my favorite Cold Fury player.

4.5 Stars

Marek by Sawyer Bennett is the eleventh book (I cannot believe it’s book 11 already!) in the Cold Fury Series! It can be read as a stand-alone but I do recommend reading the others as well. I love love lovedddd this story. It was full of angsty goodness that had me rooting for the characters from the get go.

Marek and Gracen have a tumultuous past that resulted in a child that Marek knew nothing about. When he goes to try and stop Gracen from getting married, he got one heck of a surprise when he meets Lilly, his daughter. He is furious and takes both of them to his home to figure out what to do. Both Marek and Gracen are stuck dealing with emotions and the consequences from the choices they made. Will they be able to move forward and be a family for their daughter…or will it be too late?

Sawyer Bennett sure knows how to write fantastic stories that are heartfelt and realistic! I loved Marek and Gracen and their relationship. Yes there were mistakes made but that’s what made the story so good. My emotions were all over the place-one minute swooning over Marek and the next feeling heartache. I am so excited to see what’s next for Ms.Bennett!

After receiving a email that his ex is getting married and has a child - his child - he rushes on his way to stop the wedding. Unsure of what to do he takes his ex and the child to his house while they work things out. Both are going through problems and has bitterness to work out but they will. Thing is that the old feelings they had once had hasn't seem to gone away and the attraction seems to be simmering between the two. They really need to work out whats going to happen between the two and the child before things get even more complicated.

I had such a good time reading this, pretty much spent my whole morning reading it. I don't even regret it. I loved seeing the attraction between the two. I was very curious about Gracen's fiance and what was going to happen with that whole mess and wondering if the fiance was gonna stir up things. Then I was wondering how things would workout with Marek and his daughter Lily wondering and seeing how they interacted. Overall I thought that this book was pretty good and I really enjoyed it!

While I have read most of the other books in this series, and they read as standalones, for the most part, I hadn't read the book immediately prior before picking this one up and I will say that I kind of felt as though I was dropped in in the middle of the story.

That being said, I will say that I kind of felt that Marek was an ass throughout much of the book. I'm not sure if that was by design or not, but but I had a hard time forgiving him for how he constantly held the fact that Gracen hid the fact that he had a child. Sure, she should have told him, but given how he ended their relationship, I found I couldn't really blame her for thinking he wouldn't want to be "saddled" with the responsibility of a kid. Maybe had I read the previous book, I might have come in with a different attitude towards him, but I can't be sure.

Additionally, I feel like everything seemed to resolve a little too quickly . One minute they were at each other's throats, the next they were okay with a physical relationship and not long after that there were declarations of love.

Overall, I love this series and while I didn't hate this book, it wasn't my favorite.

I could seriously read this series FOREVER! The latest installment in my absolute favorite hockey series has arrived! Marek, book #11 in the Cold Fury series,  is another well written book in this addictive series featuring another sexy hockey player. This is truly the only series that has this many books that I have read in its entirety. Each book feels fresh and never recycled. Each leading man is just as sexy as all of the others. And each storyline sucks me each time.

Marek is a second chance romance with a huge secret uncovered, a cute kid in the mix, and the girl that got away. It is insanely hot (well of course it is)  sexy, and angsty. It gives us fans of the series just a little bit more of the men that make up the Cold Fury. Another winner by Sawyer Bennett and I absolutely cannot wait for the spin off series! Bring on the Arizona Vengeance!

4.5

Marek is the next book in the Cold Fury Hockey series by the fabulous Sawyer Bennett. I love this series. It has hockey, lust, love, sexiness, humor, friendship and family. Sawyer never disappoints me with her characters who always have the perfect amount of humor and snark. Marek is cranky, angry and a little bit crazy. We knew he went back home and saved his first love from getting married. Now we get to see what he's up to and it's not all good. His heart is in the right place. But after stopping Gracen, he finds out he has a three year old daughter. He can't believe she kept his daughter from him. He's mad and has no idea what to do. Worst part, he's still attracted to Gracen, but he's treating her like crap. Gracen never stopped loving Marek. She didn't mean to keep Lilly a secret, but he wanted out to go play hockey and be free. She let him go. He let her go. Now, they have to figure out how to be parents together while they fight the lust swirling around them. Can they keep their hands off each other? Will they ever be able to get the hurt from the past go? I really enjoyed this story. I felt for both Gracen and Marek. Both made decisions that made sense at the time, but years later, being together again, all their passion and love is still there. But they can't move into the future together without letting go of the past.

"I love it when you think you're actually in control, Gracie."
