Thank you to Netgalley the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in return for my honest opinion.

This was a great book. I love the character of Josie Quinn, I have already ordered her first book. This looks like it’s going to be a great series I can’t wait to read many more books. The storyline was really good, fast-paced, lots of energy and lots of suspects. I enjoyed being along for the ride with Josie trying to find the answer to the question of what happened to Luke and the baby. I liked the resolution of the story, I can’t wait to see where it goes in the future with her and her fellow officers.

Chief Josie Quinn is having a hard time. Since the her last big case her and her fiance seem to be drifting further and further apart. Luke doesn't seem to want to talk to her about anything least of all their wedding.

This is all knocked into perspective when she is called to the house of a mother who has been attacked and whose newborn baby has been taken. Josie knows the mother- she was involved with Josie's dead husband! That doesn't stop her going all out to find the baby. As if that wasn't enough when going in to Luke's home she finds a lot of blood and no Luke! A young woman is caught fleeing the scene. She is in Luke's clothes. She is very frightened and she has no idea who she is!

The pace does not let up as Josie looks deeper into this girl. She finds a lot of corruption and every time she thinks she is on to something a vital person goes missing or is killed.

Throughout the story there are short chapters describing the death of a young person- what they have to do with it is not revealed until the end.

Josie is a likeable heroine. She is strong , feisty, with a strong moral compass. This is the second book in the series & although it can be read as a standalone I think the reader will get more out of reading the books in sequence. I'm now eagerly waiting for Number three.

Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read this book & for ruining my sleep till it was finished!

What can I say other than

W.O.W!!

I should also at this point apologise to Lisa, while reading book 1 I bombarded her with multiple tweets about her book but with this one I was radio silent, I think she thought I didn’t enjoy her book…. I was that engrossed within it’s pages that time seemed to slip away and by the time I came too it’s release day and my turn to review! So heres hoping my review shows just how much i enjoyed The Girl With No Name.

Lisa Regan certainty knows how to keep you hooked. After reading book 1 at the end of last year I wasn’t expecting another book from her so soon, so I was extremely excited when I found out that book 2 was on it’s way and she hasn’t taken her foot off the gas!! This book is just…. I have no words!

Ok, that’s a little lie but there’s so much I want to chat about I don’t want to put my foot in it with any kind of spoilers!

Quinn is back, there’s a missing baby and the mother happens to be a woman who Josie has a history with, I think she’d rather push this case to aside if it weren’t for the missing child (and I wouldn’t blame her!)

I love Joise (if you read book 1’s review then you’ll know how much I love her) she still the same, take no crap, down to earth and get the job done character that we met in book 1.

Book 2 is action packed, with so many people in the “Whodunit” chair my mind was on free fall, everyone was a suspect at one point  I loved the twists and turns of the plot and I was always telling myself just 1 more page, just one more chapter. I needed to see where Lisa was leading me, who the bad guys turned out to be and who were the unlikely suspects…. cos there’s always a few!

It truly is a mind boggling, gripping read and one that I will be recommnding to many of my friends in the days and weeks to come!

Very easily earned, 5 golden apples

I really enjoyed this book. There is a lot of action and drama packed into it. Josie is trying to find Mistys baby and Luke. There is a tangled web of murders and lies to work through to find the answers Josie needs. The characters are believable and their back stories really add to the book and make everything feel more real. This is the second in the series. The first one was a really good read as well. I would definitely recommend both of them and I really hope that there will be more books in this series.

I enjoyed this book but you do need to read book one so you know what’s happened before as this follows. Detective Josie Quinn and Lieutenant Noah Farley get called to an assault. The victim Misty, is known to both but her new born baby is missing. Then Josie’s fiancé goes missing. Where is the baby? And are the two cases connected?i liked how the story unwound and each character added something to the story. I will definately read book 3 but it wouldn’t be top of the pile.

I love this series! It’s got everything: action, drama, twisty plot and seasoned with a psychopath and strong characters that’s unafraid to kick ass. Since this is the 2nd book from Detective Josie Quinn, there are some events in this book that’s connected with the first one.

The story opens with news of a death teenager, a victim of hit and run. During reading the story, there are several news with the same style: all victims are presumed death by accident. It seems unconnected to the story. And then the story is thrown back to a missing baby who happens to be Misty Derossi’s baby, Josie’s ex husband girlfriend. Things got really personal for Josie, especially after Luke when missing as well and an unknown girl is found in his property.

The story really focused on Josie this time: her emotion, attitude, action. Being the new chief of police, it’s no easy job and the case is getting too personal for her. The mystery deepens when dead bodies appeared around the town of Denton, but they are not from Denton. Why are they here? Who murdered them? So many questions, so many clues and the game of cat and mouse begin with 2 lives at stake: Luke and the baby. The action of chasing them and every time Josie missed is kind of exhausting.

The plot is getting twisted when Peter Rowland enters the picture. This is a new kind of psychopath. I’ve never read this type of case before, but it’s interesting. And Trinity Payne is the person who makes things comes to light.

Characters, as usual are both strong and no nonsense. Josie this time at least shows her human side. She’s pretty upset of the disappearance of Luke and the baby, but tries to keep a good façade for her team. There are times that her team try to embrace her, but she still refused. What she lacks is the capacity of delegating the task. But it’s understandable, since she’s a new manager on the block.

The end is quite surprising, although I could say it’s not a happy ending. I was just wondering whether this will become a pattern, because it seems that Josie couldn’t find happiness in her life.

This is the 2nd book from Lisa Regan that I’ve read and reviewed. If you want to read the review of the 1st book, Vanishing Girls you could read it here.

Recommend for those who love a good crime and mystery novel with lots of drama and action.

Jess is back, as complex and disturbed as ever and with both her past and present haunting her as she takes on a case that is very close to home. Again you can feel the claustrophobia of this small town. A great addition to what is shaping up to be a great series

The second book in the Detective Josie Quinn series and I give it four stars. Some really good character development, a plot with plenty twists and a missing baby. I would recommend reading Vanishing Girls first for some background details but it could be a stand alone. Another very good book by Lisa Regan. Thank you for my copy. I reviewed on Goodreads, Amazon and Facebook.

Actual rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

The Girl With No Name is the 2nd book in the Detective Josie Quinn series. You definitely need to read the first book, [book:Vanishing Girls|36441275] before reading this one. All the great cast of characters are back but Regan doesn't really go into detail on their backstory. This story takes place 2 years after the vanishing girls case. It's hard to explain the plot without revealing spoilers. Just know this book does not disappoint. It is fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat. This is one story where you would never be able to guess the ending.

I highly recommend this series. Looking forward to the next one.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for a copy of Lisa Regan's "The Girl With No Name" in exchange of an honest review.

The story starts with Josie and her fiance Luke having personal problems, a call - out leads her to beaten unconscious woman, a lost newborn, and then Luke disappears. The mystery keeps moving deeper into a spiral till Josie suddenly, at a glance, discovers the thread, which when pulled, unravels the whole plot.

An amazingly fast ride by Lisa Regan, the plot was both simple and so twisted, that it made me laugh wickedly. I wouldn't have ever guessed such a convoluted concept ever.

The story has intermingled short chapters of random deaths which add to the bizarre twists, the layers piling up, till everything crashes. The bonding  between Josie, and her team Noah, Gretchen, reporter Trinity was quite uplifting.

The niggles for me were parts of the first book were revealed, and Josie, though dynamic, was a bit controlling. I felt she would have been a better Detective, if she had let go a bit and trusted her team instead if trying to do all on her own.

Lisa Regan as a writer, has conceptualized the plot well before embarking on the writing, and that shines through in the entire story, making this a heck of a ride. There was no detailed gruesomeness which I was thankful about. The story was smooth sailing with a brilliant, crashing finish.

Confession: I didn’t read Vanishing Girls first. This was the second book in the Josie Quinn series but I feel like it works as a stand alone book too. It’s a new story, new crime. That being said, I’m definitely going to have to read Vanishing Girls mostly because I loved this book.

The Girl With No Name- fast-paced, well-written crime thriller that will keep you guessing until the end. The author weaves a web of mystery and somehow brings it all together. I didn’t think I was going to like the way it was heading for the ending but she tricked me. I liked the ending and can’t wait to read book one soon and also plan to continue this series.

Thanks to Netgalley, Lisa Regan, and Bookouture for keeping me up past my bedtime and many thanks for the digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

Lisa Regan is a new favorite author. This book was really good. The suspense was wonderful and kept you guessing until the very end. While I had suspensions, I didn't have all the pieces put together. In fact, I was sitting in a restaurant finishing the book and gasped in surprise at the end. I love a book that makes me do that!

The characters were really well developed and the story line was for the most part believable. (I'm not sure a police chief would be out of the office and personally working a crime...or two. My son is a police officer and I find that highly unlikely. But still Josie was the chief of police in a smaller town. So maybe so.)

I wasn't happy with the way it ended, but that's my personal opinion. It didn't take anything away from the book and how much I enjoyed reading it.

I am looking forward to reading more books by this author and will definitely go back and read the first one in the series. There were some unanswered questions that I'm hoping will be resolved in the first book.

A new author for me but as soon as I read the blurb I had to read the book. I was not disappointed. It grabbed me from the start and kept my attention throughout. Great characters, in particular, Josie Quinn I loved her. Looking forward to this authors next book.

This is another 5 star plus modern, crime book about Detective Josie Quinn, who is now acting Captain. The story is set 18 months after the first book in the series "Vanishing Girls" which is a must read! The town is now rid of corruption. Josie is engaged to Luke and finding it difficult to talk to him after the death of two of his friends. Josie is called to a house where a woman has been badly beaten and her new born baby taken. Luke is then abducted. Is there a connection? Read on!

After reading and reviewing the first book in this series featuring Detective Josie Quinn, I couldn’t wait for the next book to be published and boy I was not disappointed! The Girl with No Name is even better. Josie is back even more stubborn and feisty and newly promoted. She is now planning her wedding to her fiancé Luke, a fellow police officer, but is finding him very withdrawn. Josie is called out to a crime scene where a young woman who has recently give birth at home, has been seriously attacked and her newborn baby missing. She then returns to Luke’s house to find that he is also missing and there is a young woman in the house who appears to have lost her memory. Then you are taken on a rollercoaster ride with plenty of twists and turns and family secrets to keep you on the edge of your seat as the complex storyline will blow you away. Another brilliant book from Lisa Regan, can’t wait for book number three.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Complex and gritty thriller with great characters. Lots of twists and turns in this race to find a baby and a boyfriend.

The Girl With No Name, the second in the Detective Josie Quinn series written by Lisa Regan, an impressionable book which could easily be read as a standalone. I’ve had the pleasure to recently discover Lisa’s books and wasn’t disappointed and I hope that you will jump on the Josie Quinn trail with me.
Josie’s day off is interrupted by a call, a woman has been attacked and a newborn baby has gone missing.

There is one person who holds the key but a bout of amnesia has stopped Josie dead in her tracks with the investigation, is this woman lying, hiding the truth or has she genuinely no memory of the days events. Josie and her team fight hard to find the baby but corruption, dead ends and a lack of witnesses make it a tiresome slog, can they close the investigation and bring the baby home before more people are harmed.

I was so pleased to have found out more about Josie, through her personal and work life, Josie is a strong, gritty and honest character even though she has a blighted past. As the book unfolds its apparent that we have been given insight into Josie’s past but there is more to be brought to light and I certainly look forward to finding out in the next book.

Lisa has littered the path throughout the book with traps invariably I literally fell for them each time. I really need to try and see into the mind of an author and unpick the threads which tangle up within my own imagination, definitely a sign of fantastic author who knows how to drag a reader through the mill.

Want to read a fast-paced, gripping criminal thriller grab yourself a copy of The Girl With No Name, Lisa Regan compounded every need and desire I required from a thriller, it was bang on.

Thanks to Bookouture, Lisa Regan and Noelle Holten for the advanced readers copy of The Girl With No Name in exchange for an honest review. Thanks again to Noelle for my part in the Blog Blitz its been a pleasure.

Gosh, this is the Second book of the Detective Josie Quinn series and I just Loved this book. The Girl With No Name by Lisa Regan is just as gripping as the first book Lisa wrote. From the first page I was hooked and found this book easy to read. This book is good as a stand alone read. However, I found in some parts of the book needed explaining and Vanishing Girls which is the first book of this wonderful series is a must read, if you get a chance to read it.
I am looking forward to read other books from Lisa Regan especially in the Detective Josie Quinn series

Thank you for this complimentary copy of this book from Lisa Regan, and Bookouture and NetGalley

The Girl With No Name is the second instalment in the Detective Josie Quinn series and what a follow-up it is! If you’ve read the first one, then I’m sure you’ll remember Misty. She’s found brutally attacked in her own home and her newborn baby has gone missing. Josie needs to put aside any and all personal differences to focus on the task at hand. However, things will take a far more sinister turn and with the mayor breathing down her neck, Josie may need to ask for help from some unexpected sources.

Denton may be a small town but when things happen, they sure happen in style. From a woman broken and battered in hospital, to a girl who apparently can’t remember who she is, to a missing baby and business men wanting to build a casino … all these various threads kept me entertained from beginning to end. Meanwhile, we also get glimpses into the trial of the Interstate Killer and some newspaper articles that seem so incredibly random, you can’t but feel they play a part somehow. Not that I could figure it out and the author kept me guessing until the answer was almost spoon-fed to me.

This plot is insanely action-packed. Forget about a slow build-up as it’s all systems go from the first page. As Josie and her team chase down leads from one location to the next and the body pile starts mounting up, I felt there was barely any time to take a breather. Never mind the characters being tired, I was exhausted myself!

Josie is as fierce as ever and despite things getting her down, she’s determined not to give up. She may have accidentally gotten the role of Chief but she convinced me that it was right for her. For now, anyway. But for me, Lieutenant Noah Fraley completely steals the show. Sympathetic, level-headed and always there by Josie’s side, he’s most definitely someone you can count on. And even though I tend to have this thing against reporters, I even warmed to Trinity this time around.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Vanishing Girls, the first book in this series, but I feel this one is even better. I do so love it when a series goes from strength to strength. The Girl With No Name is utterly gripping, a true page-turner that had me completely absorbed. I can’t wait to see where Lisa Regan takes the team next.
