THE GIRL WITH NO NAME is book 2 in a new crime series featuring Detective Josie Quinn by author Lisa Regan. Having enjoyed reading VANISHING GIRLS, book 1 in the series, I was anxious to continue to read more about Detective Josie Quinn and see where the journey takes me.

If you have not read, Vanishing Girls, I would suggest you do. This book does work well as a standalone novel but if you read Vanishing Girls first, you will gain more insight to the characters and their history.

Detective/Chief Josie Quinn goes on rollercoaster of a ride/journey in this story. This is a mystery with so many layers and multi-plots that the reader must pay attention and follow the clues closely.

Detective Josie Quinn is horrified when she’s called to the house of a mother who had her newborn baby snatched from her arms.

A woman caught fleeing the scene is Josie’s only lead, but when questioned it seems this mysterious girl doesn’t know who she is, where she’s from or why she is so terrified…

There is also the disappearance of her fiancé Luke, and as Josie investigates further, a letter about a mix-up at a fertility clinic links the nameless girl and the missing child to a wave of killings across the county. Josie must try to find and save both.

This is a new crime thriller series that shows a promising future. I look forward to getting to know Josie better in the next book from this series.

Many thanks to Bookouture via Netgalley for my copy.

Josie Quinn is called to a home where a woman has been badly beaten and her baby has been stole. Later going back to her fiances house she finds he is missing and a young woman is there who cannot remember who she is or where she came from. From there we go on a rollercoaster of missing babies, pregnancies, a fertility clinic, mobsters and murder!!
This is Lisa Regans 2nd book in the Josie Quinn story, after Vanishing Girls, and I loved it!! Josie had a hard time in the last book and this book does not see her life getting any easier. There are loads of threads to this story which all come together in the end but it does make a thrilling ride.
Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and author for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review

I absolutely love Josie. She's tough, smart and now afraid to admit her flaws. I really felt for her in this story as she struggled with the aftermath of the previous book. There were a lot of twists and the different story lines came together very well.

After reading the vanishing girls, the first book in the Josie Quinn series which I really enjoyed I couldn’t wait to read the second instalment. This book is just as good as the first. If not better. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, like riding a rollercoaster with all the twists and turns. Just when you think you know what’s going on something happens to blow your theory out of the water. If you like this genre of book then it’s a must read. Looking forward to the next instalment in this series.

Easily one of my most favorite books I've read this year! Josie Quinn is a force to be reckoned with. She tries to balance her relationship under very tense circumstances along with her very present past. This is a fantastic mystery that keeps the reader guessing through twists and turns. The supporting cast is magnificent - you can feel the respect and affection her officers have for her - even when trying to save her from herself. This book is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon or evening... I'm looking so forward to more Josie Quinn adventures! Loved it!

I would like to thank Netgalley and Bookouture for an advance copy of The Girl with No Name, the second novel to feature Police Chief Josie Quinn of Denton, Pennsylvania.

Josie is trying to get her fiancé, Luke, to discuss their wedding when she gets called out to an assault. Misty Derossi, who has a complicated relationship with Josie, has been beaten almost to death and her newly home delivered baby is missing. To make matters worse Josie discovers Luke missing, blood in his house and an amnesiac young woman who appears to have been living there.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Girl with No Name which is an engrossing read with plenty of twists, turns and emotional turmoil. It is a high octane read as Josie dashes hither and thither desperately looking for Luke and the baby. The plots twists come thick and fast with almost every chapter offering new developments and connections. Ms Regan does an exceptional job of portraying Josie's desperation as she goes off half cocked at every turn. The excitement of this as a read is, however, dependent on the reader accepting that she would be allowed anywhere near the investigation and that the State Police would take a hands off approach when one of their own, Luke, is missing. That and some of the coincidences require a certain suspension of disbelief.

Disbelief suspended, The Girl with No Name, is a compulsive read. Ms Regan has the reveals well paced, forcing the reader to keep turning the pages to see what is coming next. I take my hat off to Ms Regan's imagination as I would never have guessed most of them in a million years!

Josie is a strong, stubborn, loyal character with her heart in the right place, if not, on occasion, her brain. She seems to work on instinct and then look for the proof to back it up so the novel isn't particularly strong procedurally but it doesn't have to be as it is more of a thriller with all the attendant action and emotions. As befits a thriller most of the other characters are only developed as much as their role requires.

The Girl with No Name is a good read which I have no hesitation in recommending.

Having read The Vanishing Girls by Lisa Regan I couldn't wait for this second one in the Josie Quinn series. I definitely was NOT disappointed.
Josie Quinn is still suffering from her experiences in her last investigation, both personally and professionally. She's slowly starting to recover. So when she's called to a house where a mother is horrifically beaten and her new born baby is missing Josie's slowly healing life starts to unravel again! This case also becomes personal. How much more can Josie take?? The Girl With No Name can be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading The Vanishing Girls first. Loads of twists, but that ending though........absolutely brilliant!! I would highly recommend it. Definitely worth 5 stars if not more!!

This s great follow up to Vanishing Girls. I was eagerly awaiting this book and was not disappointed. Lisa expertly intertwines different stories to merge into one with a thrilling climax. Lisa deftly exposes Josie's weaknesses and insecurities but without overpowering the strength of character she needs to do her job. This was a thrilling read based around a very topical subject. Do not miss!!!

Lisa Regan was sitting at a loom WEAVING away all the twists and turns in this CRIME novel. Second in the Josie Quinn series and although it would probably flesh a few characters a bit more the story reads fine as a stand alone too. Jose is the Chief of Police with a "I AM GOING TO GET YOU" attitude along with a staff of loyal and gutsy detectives. Deaths are mounting up and author presents a number of potential killers. Steady paced drama but the last ten percent of the book was amazing. I have another one of Regan's books in my library and can't wait to get started on it. "A copy of this book was provided by Bookouture via Netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

This is the second book in a series. I did not read the first book. This book is not a good stand alone. It makes multiple references back to the first book in the series. I would not recommend reading this book without reading the first one. Overall I did not find the story very entertaining or very suspenseful. I will not be going back to read the first book in this series.

anyone looking for an excellent mystery that keeps you guessing, is fast pacing, has a strong woman as the lead will enjoy this book. Like all of Lisa Regan books you can't put it down. The story keeps moving forward to the end. After reading all her previous books I was waiting for this one. It was worth the wait

I read this book at breakneck speed. I had just downloaded it and next thing I knew I had finished it. Practically from the start the story grips you and there was not a moment where I was bored or where the story dragged. The main character Josie Quinn is a great protagonist and I loved her no nonsense attitude. This is book two in the Josie Quinn series and even though I have not read the first (have already bought it!) it works just fine as a stand alone. I highly, highly recommend this and am excited to see what will be coming next.

5/5 absolutely brilliant.
I devoured ‘Vanishing Girls’ just the other day and could not wait to get stuck into The Girl With No Name to see where Josie’s story would go next and I was not disappointed.
A story like no other - missing baby, missing fiancé & a women who doesn’t know who she is - gripping and emotional, brilliantly written and detailed just enough to feel like you’re right there with Josie.
I was wrapped up in this story from beginning to end, shocked by every twist and blown away by so many secrets. Cannot wait for book 3 already.
If you love a crime series with a strong female character, you need to start this series.

*Massive thank you to NetGalley, Bookoutre & the Author for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review.

The Girl With No Name by Lisa Regan is the 2nd book in the Josie Quinn series.

Wow this amazing book was a total rollercoaster ride of emotions. A thoroughly enjoyable book that I couldn’t put down. The book had me on the edge of my seat hanging on to every word, turning page after page totally engrossed.

It was intense, full of action and had plenty of twists that kept me engaged from the first page right through to the end.

Josie Quinn is one tough ballsy lady, a strong leader and role model to her team. I love a thriller with a strong female lead and this story didn’t disappoint it was fantastic. Vanishing Girls the first book in the series was excellent too so this series is one to watch, I have a feeling it will get better and better with each book.

I recommend that you read the books in order as you will learn so much about Josie in the first book so it will make the 2nd book easier to follow and will be a more enjoyable reading experience. You should read them both anyway because they are both fantastic reads.

I don’t hesitate in giving The Girl With No Name 5 stars, it was a bloody good read!

Lisa Ragan has done it again, I think she is up there with the best female authors, I can see this second book is going to be apart of a winning series.
I love the character, Josie Quinn, she is now the boss and has to pick up the pieces from the fall out in the last book, the vanishing girls. She is still as toughened nails, yet natural as ever. The books starts with a missing baby and linked into characters from the first book. This book can still be read as a stand alone but it is so much better if you start with book one.
Fast paced and gripping, Josie has her work cut out looking for a missing baby and her fiancé Luke. I truly had no idea how this was going to pan out and the ending was brilliant and came together so well.
I look forward to book three and to see some more of the brilliant Josie Quinn.
