We love westerns around here and Johnstone is one of our favorites. My husband has read every book he has written. I don’t think the books are as good as when William was alive and writing on his own but we are hanging in determined to read all his books Really enjoyed this one

I always look forward to Johnstone books. This one did not disappoint. From page one, you felt you were riding along with Mac. His trails from New Orleans to Abilene were full of adventure, keeping you turning pages to see where he went next. You find yourself rooting for him so that in the end, you're proud of him and his accomplishments. This may be a western, but it's also a great story of a man growing to trust his skills and instincts...a life story that happens to be set in the old west. Johnstone books never disappoint!
