Oh look! That looks like a red dot in the middle of that huge field... but is it? Is it merely just an isolated red dot in the heart of nowhere?

That's when little imaginations kick in and that lonesome red dot can become a mushroom? A strawberry? A poppy? A balloon? A cherry on an ice cream cone? Or just maybe... a nose on a great big clown!!! Who could have guessed? The red dot can be anything they envision it to be and thus the great fun of this wonderful book.

The simple kid-friendly story will be a happy, thought-provoking experience for babies and toddlers alike. They will delight in discovering the red dot and then discover what it really is. I am positive that kids will love this book. Storywraps heartily endorses it and all the other great books in the series.

Very short but cute. For toddlers and the pre-K set only. From far away a red dot looks like a circle. But from up close it can be a berry beneath a leaf, a balloon in the sky, or the nose on a clown's face.

I am very relieved that Skippy found his way safely home, but disliked the the implication that wild animals don't pray so a benevolent god lets them get hit by cars....Sorry. Not my kid of book.

I thought this book was going to be like Ten Dots by Donald Crews! I was so disappointed. I read it to a 4 year old class and they were not impressed! I'm only giving it one star to give it a star!

Listed as a first read, this is a very simple book. The text is short and the colors are very bright. It re-imagines what a red dot could be in various places. Very cute and easy for little ones to see and pay attention.

This is the second of the “Kika’s First Books” I’ve reviewed, from a popular Italian kids’ series celebrating its fortieth anniversary.
It’s actually a cute premise. The author shows a red dot in a certain place and then reveals what it is, a simple object that can be so many different things. Everything is done with the simplicity necessary for a small child to understand. It doesn’t try to be any more than that, which works.

Simple but fun. When you see a red dot in the distance, what is it? Is it a balloon? Is it a flower?

This book is a very cute book for babies and very early readers. It talks about what red dots could be in different contexts. The art is cute and easily read to a young child.

A quick read, even for the desperately young target audience. How a simple red colour on the page can turn out to be different things in different contexts is explored - and I dare say further imaginative leaps can follow once the book is finished with. Other colours may feel left out, but otherwise this is perfectly fine.
