Discover Dogs by Amanda Trane is another book in the Discover Reading series. This series is comprised of easy readers with no frills and not a lot of details. The pictures in the book are great and it is perfect for kids who love dogs and are just beginning to read. I read it with my seven year old and he liked it. I think it is a great book to read once, but probably not more than that. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher. These opinions are entirely my own.

The pictures in this book are so cute. The wording is simple for my kids to understand. A fun time was had by everyone while reading this.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book, which I voluntarily chose to review.

I'f you've had a "ruff" day at school, this book is for you! I'm a huge fan of nonfiction books that use photographs, and this book is chock full of them! The perfect book for young readers who like dogs - or for any dog lover to read aloud. The text is clear and clever - my favorite page is the bulldog (and I suspect it could be yours too). Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to review #DiscoverDogs by #AmandaTrane - I know you'll enjoy other books by her in the Discover Reading series!

I must admit: I downloaded this review book to look at pictures of dogs!

This is a reader for younger kids, helping with vocabulary.

Two points:

* The book is written in American English. For example, a handbag is referred to as a "purse" (a purse means something different to the rest of us). Also, the troublesome "off of" makes an appearance.

* I would have liked a reference to a guide dog, as other working dogs are mentioned.

A quick read.

Geared toward the very beginning readers, this simple book tells the basics about our canine friends, such as the different breeds.
Chihuahua: a small dog with a big bark. Perfect description!
Labradoodles are actually small Wookies.
Some dogs don’t do any work at all. Poor bulldog.
Truly basic, but all the better for the little ones.

This is a great early reading title. It presents simple facts about the different breeds with photo quality images to support the text. It should be an appealing book for young dog lovers growing their reading skills and would be a good addition to the school and public library.

This is another book in the Discover Series published by Xist. They are multiple authors and subjects. It is a non-fiction early reader book about Dogs. The illustrations are large and simple photographs, not a lot of extra detail unless it aids in the text. The dogs are cute with great expressions. They are various sizes and ages, showing the reader different breeds. Simple facts about the dog are stated in simple language, such as "Dogs come in many sizes. A Chihuahua is a small dog with a big bark". A good book for early readers, especially those who are interested in dogs. It is nice to see non-fiction books in this reading range. A good addition to school, family and class libraries. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

A short, engaging picture book for beginning readers. SImple facts along with colorful photos of different kinds of dogs--poodle, spaniel, bulldog, and more. A good introduction to dogs for the pre-K set.
