I always look forward to these Buzz Books. They provide an invaluable preview of the best books coming up soon. Such a great idea to be able to read an extended excerpt.

I am admittedly a bit behind on reviewing Buzz Books because I thought I had already sent in several months worth of reviews, and yet, here they are, sitting on my computer, waiting to be sent. Oops.

There is a lot of promise to be found in Buzz Books May edition.

The Perfect Mother - I think this is a novel most thriller fans have been looking forward to for quite some time, so I won't say much. I will just say - this preview make the writing look perfectly paced for the next big thriller. I can hardly wait to read the full book.

Our Kind of Cruelty - I almost feel like I'm cheating reviewing this in a preview because.... I've already read the novel. And you guys. It was SO GOOD. I loved this book SO MUCH. I have very rarely been as uneasy while reading as I was while reading Our Kind of Cruelty. You know from the very beginning that you cannot trust the narrator which makes reading each page a very unsettling experience. I finished this book while sitting in an empty cafe by myself and the entire time I felt like someone was watching me because of how creepy the book was. I loved that it is a subtle unease instead of the in your face thrill you get from most creepy books. I cannot recommend it enough.

The Electric Woman - This book looks fantastic. I can hardly wait to read it. The cover is beautiful. I'm a sucker for memoirs written by strong women. Plus, Circus. Whats not to love?!

Our Kind of Cruelty by Araminta Hall
Motherhood by Sheila Heti
My Ex-Life by Stephen McCauley
Legendary by Stephanie Garber

I love these samplers. I discover so many wonderful books that I had no interest in beforehand. The Perfect Mother in-captured. I found My Ex-Life humorous. Our Kind of Cruelty had me curious on what was going on and the lives of the individuals beforehand.
