This is the second book that I read by Stephanie London. I really like the first book Bad Bachelor. Bad Reptuation is the second book in the same series but it's a stand-alone. It's a lot of fun. The dialogue is sharp and snappy. I like both of the characters. They are both interesting in their own way and perfectly imperfect. They both have issues that they need to resolve..... and you really want them both to get their HEA. I can't wait to read the third book in this series!

This is the second book in London’s series about a world where there is an app called Bad Bachelors where women can go online and discuss/trash guys they’ve dated. Think of it as a Yelp for dates. The guy whose profile is blowing up now is Wes Evans, son a a famous couple in ballet circles who is trying to make it on his own with an independent off-off-Broadway dance show. So it’s a distraction that women are going online to rave about his, er...anatomy when he’s so focused on his show.

He finds his star dancer in Remi Drysdale, an Australian dancer who fled home after a bad romance that also meant she lost her role in the premier dancing troupe there. She has lost her confidence and now teaches ballet to children. Wes sees her and realizes that she is the talent, if she can get over her confidence issues.

Of course, Wes and Remi are attracted to each other with crazy chemistry. It is interesting to see the interplay of a couple trying to find themselves in the public eye with the added pressure of the internet spotlight. Even though there was nothing connecting his job offer to Remi to headline his show and his personal interest in her, he knows that rumors would hurt both him and his show, but destroy the career that Remi is trying to build. So in the shadow of #MeToo, what does a guy do who isn’t harassing or abusing a woman do when his behavior could be called into question. Because this is a romance novel, we know that things will work out, but in real life I doubt that things would work out as smoothly and people’s reputations would be ruined.

This was an enjoyable read. It would have helped to have read the first novel in the series, Bad Bachelor, but not necessary. You get enough background to grasp what went on, but the first book was also enjoyable so you won’t regret checking that out.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

What an enjoyable book! I haven't read many books in which ballet is the common thread between characters. I liked that Wes stood his ground against his parents, especially his mom when he decided to go a different route in the entertainment industry; he was a man who wanted to show the family name could thrive in different aspects of dance and entertainment. There's a small (or not so small in his case) issue that could threaten Wes' plans though. Remi's life hasn't gone according to plan and she's making her adjustments as she needs to, but the possibility of a comeback of sorts could be on the horizon, if she rises above the events of her past.

I really enjoyed this book by Stefanie London. After being a superman of the first book in the series, I was SO looking forward to this. I enjoyed learning about the world of dance, and the chemistry was hot hot hot! I did find some of the plot to be a little bit clunky and there was a lot going on, but it managed to keep my interest! Very sexy hero!! :)

I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

After reading the first book in the Bad Bachelors Series, I knew I had to read this next one because the first was just so good! And this next book did not disappoint. I absolutely love books about ballerinas and adored this one even more because both MCs were so passionate about ballet. That being said, their love story was so beautiful and adorable from the start. There was a little angst because of both their pasts, but it fueled their relationship so much more than it detracted from the story. Remi was this amazingly passionate, albeit a little disillusioned, dancer and Wes was engaging and strong. Overall, this was a sweet and fun read that I would definitely recommend!

Bad Reputation by Stefanie London is the first book I’ve read by this author after meeting her briefly at a reader event in June 2018. Bad Reputation is the 2nd book in this series but not having read the first one before diving into this one hasn’t really affected my enjoyment of this novel. The theme of the first 2 books centers around an app called Bad Bachelors, which essentially allows people to rate and review dates online. The first book set the stage for this continuation of story with Wes being the target of reviews online.

Wes is the son of famous dance parents. He has lived in the world of ballet and dance his entire life. He wants to break free of his family name and legacy and start something on his own, he leaves the family business much to the chagrin of his very opinionated mother. He comes up with an idea for an off-off broadway show that will engage the audience right into the middle of the show. Now all he needs are investors and a star dancer for the female lead. With a website posting reviews about his “manhood” threatening to derail any hope of funding he needs to find a way to get his show off the ground.

Remi is an ex ballerina currently living in New York teaching ballet class at her friends studio. She has dream of opening her own studio now that her career in the dance world looks to be over. A chance meeting at one of her parent/kid classes has her reconsidering giving up on her dream. But can she put her past mistakes behind her and not head down the same ruining road of disaster.

I really enjoyed the dynamic of Wes and his mother, his father was pretty much talked about not actually to during this novel. Wes was trying his hardest to show his mother that he can make it on his own, without being a disappointment to the family name, while waiting for her to dish out an “I told you so”.

I wasn’t sure I liked the gossip articles, review blurbs etc that were at the beginning of each new chapter. At the beginning they were very distracting, but as the story went on they really added to and became part of the story. I received an advance copy from the publishers without any expectation for review. Any and all opinions expressed are solely my own. I can’t wait to read many more books from Stefanie London, starting with Bad Bachelor (Book 1 in this series)

This is the second in Stefanie London’s Bad Bachelor series. Bad Bachelor is a website that allows the women of Manhattan to review their dates like they would a restaurant on Yelp. The books center around three friends, Darcy, Remi and Annie. Book one was Darcy and Reeds story. This book tells Remi and Wes’s story. Remi was on her way to success as a ballerina in her native Australia, when a personal/professional issue decimated her career. She is now in New York City teaching Barre classes, and has given up on her dream. Wes is trying to break away from his family ballet school and mount an off Broadway show. He meets Remi while taking his niece to dance class and realizes Remi is who he needs to star in his show. They agree to keep things professional, but that doesn’t last long. While Wes is reviewed on the Bad Bachelor website, it’s not because he is a bad guy, it’s because of his impressive physical asset. Like in book one, the website threatens the man’s career and his relationship. I loved this book, the characters were well written and the story was engaging.. I was given an ARC of this book for my honest review.

I LOVE this series so much. This book introduces Wes, a off broadway producer and he wants Remi to star in his show. Remin is the aussie roomie of former book Darcy who is now engaged to Reed. Wes is the next Bad Bachelor and while his reviews are good, the press on Bad Bachelors is bad for him play.

This is the story of how he discovers Remi, convinces her to join his show and how they fall in love. I felt the story was just getting to the good stuff when it ends. I would like to have seen more of them in love and together. But still it was a fun and romantic story that I really enjoyed.

Loved this book! I loved the first book in the series (Bad Bachelor), and found this to be just as good. The series focuses on an app called Bad Bachelor that has a negative impact on a bachelor in NYC. In this novel, Remi is a (somewhat) washed up ballerina that now teaches children ballet. When Wes brings his niece to one of her classes, he is entranced by Remi and convinces her to audition for him. Before long, they are both working together and dating, but then the rumors start, with the help of the Bad Bachelor app.

I found myself drawn in by Wes and Remi's story and was rooting for them to get their HEA ending. The author had a delightful was of telling their story and I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series. While part of a series, this is a stand alone novel, however, it's so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Bad Reputation is the next book in the Bad Bachelors series. I didn't enjoy it as much as Bad Bachelor, but it was still an enjoyable read. I will definitely recommend to our patrons and buy a copy for our library.

s the second book in the series and while I loved the first, I found this one a bit messy. The story is still very much focused on the abuse and potential harm of online tools but some other conflict was thrown in the mix - employer/employee (director - ballerina) relationship, her dramatic past, a jealous co-worker.

I liked the characters on their own and both had interesting back stories - she is an Aussie who tried to make it in the ballet world of NY after leaving Sidney due to a professional/personal scandal. She was having a fun, uncomplicated life but never quite gave up on her dreams. He was trying to prove his worth outside his family who were a superstar power couple in the ballet world.

I enjoyed the story and found the MCs likable but felt there were too many things going on, too many small obstacles and conflicts happening, too many subplots, all this left the main conflict underdeveloped.

Bad Reputation,  Stefanie London

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance

I hadn't read the first book, in fact haven't read any of Stefanie's novels, however this series is connected via characters and theme but each are stand alone reads and easy to follow, even if like me you haven't read book one.

Remi, oh I loved her. Let down so very badly by her former lover and employers she's given up her dream, moved to a new country, seems content tutoring dance where she used to love ballet, always striving for top place.
She is still incredibly talented and when Wes catches her dancing alone one day he knows she's the star her needs for his new off-off Broadway production. Its very non traditional, a gamble really and goes against his very traditional style of ballet his parents teach in their school, where he formerly worked.
Persuading her isn't easy, and added to that there's a white hot spark of attraction she says must stay closed if she agrees.
Wes is a fabulous man, so very fair, so full of dreams for his show, so caring about his team of dancers. He really wants the best for everyone, wants his show to be a success, and wants the dancers to enjoy in it.
Its so unfair when against all the hard work he's done, against all the striving for fairness and equality the bad bachelors reviews are doing such harm. Its not that they criticise him, far from it, he's praised, has a reputation as caring and a real gentleman, its just...well...size that gets attention, and given his family's fame the media jump on the story, potentially scaring off his backers.

Its a great story, fabulous characters, good guys, fence sitters and bad ones, just as in real life.
There's a mix of plots, from Remi's cautious return to the world of dance, from the fabulous and innovative show Wes is producing, the harm the media and websites can do to reputations, secrets and -well, not lies but omissions of truth, romance of course, and the trials of friendship.
It makes for a multi-layered story and towards the end I just couldn't see how things could work out for people. Rock and hard place for Wes in the decisions he needed to make, love or heart break for Remi, and of course the whole Bad Bachelors thing and the devastating secrets revealed.
Whichever way I worked I just couldn't make everyone happy, but Stefanie does, wraps it up perfectly and in a believable way that made a terrific ending.

Stars: Five, a one off read but one which was great fun with some real surprises for me.
