This is book 2 in the Lavender Tides Series. Ellie is a successful house flipper, but when her sister goes missing, she can't concentrate on anything until she finds her sister. She goes to her sister's house, but all she finds is blood of the deck of her sister's boat. Can she work with the Coast Guard official to find her sister or will he get so caught up in his version that her sister ends up dead.?

Coble is an author I really like and this book is a good example of why. This book works as a stand-alone, but is part of a series. It has a good bit of action, suspense and for this story, it's not heavy on faith. This means it works for me to share with those who are totally lost about what Christian fiction can be. Grayson and Ellie were good characters, and I enjoyed the story. I do want to read the whole series.

3.5 stars, rounded up

Though I didn't like it quite as well as the next in the series, it was definitely better than the first in the series. This one's about Grayson finding out he's got two biological sisters out there and trying to help Shawna track down their baby sister. He's got a crime to solve and he's very interested in the pretty woman mixed up in the crime, so he has to ensure she is innocent and safe.

I liked both characters even though I didn't completely fall in love with them. A solid mystery with a pleasant Washington-state setting.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for a free reading copy. A favorable review was not required.

Once again, Colleen Coble does not disappoint! The House at Saltwater Point is full of danger, suspense, and romance! A winning combination, in my book. Ellie and Grayson are great characters, and figuring out the story's mystery was no easy task! It kept me reading late into the night and surprised me in the end.

My thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for an ARC for this my honest review.

Colleen Coble does a great job with this book and as always with her writing style weaves a fabulous story with a mystery that will keep you guessing until the end.
The plot was wonderful with an awesome set of characters.
I love how Colleen is able to make her characters' feelings come through the book and pull us into whatever situation is going on at the time.
I try never to miss her books because she is that wonderful!
I strongly recommend this book. NO compensations were received. All opinions are my own.

Ellie Blackmore enjoys flipping houses with her business partner Jason and with the occasional help from her sister Mac. When Mac goes missing and is presumed dead Ellie’s world is turned upside down and she will stop at nothing to find out what happened to her sister. Grayson Bradshaw, a coastguard, is sent to investigate the case of missing cocaine and his investigation seems to go hand in hand with Mac’s disappearance. Grayson also receives some personal news that turns his world upside down.
I have loved Colleen Coble’s books from the very first book I read “without a trace”. I always waited with bated breath for the mystery to unravel and the most unexpected suspect to be revealed however this book just didn’t have the same amount of suspense as I was used to. I was curious to know what happened to Mackenzie and that is what kept me reading to the end, that and the fact that I always try to finish a book I start. I didn’t feel like I could relate to any of the characters, maybe it was Ellie’s choice of music or it was just the typical nature of the story but it was not a favourite. Most disappointing was that when the suspect was finally revealed… I had no idea who the person was but there were lessons to be learned about not having circumstances or events to define you.
Thanks to Netgalley and Thomas Nelson Publishers for providing me with a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and review.

Ellie is a house flipper located in Lavender Tides in the Puget Sound of Washington. Her sister, Mackenzie goes missing and is feared dead. Grayson is a Coast Guard investigator who also happens to be the long lost brother of one of Ellie's friends. Grayson is convinced that Mackenzie is helping a terrorist plot, but Ellie just can't believe her sister is involved in that. As uncomfortable truths make their way to the forefront, can Ellie and Grayson work together to stop the terror plot before it's too late?

I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I was a little lost at the beginning because I haven't yet read book one of this series. It seemed like there were references made to that story, but the details aren't involved in the plot of this one. You can pick this one up and read it without having read that one. I felt that the story development was very well done. Little details were revealed along the way that keeps the reader guessing. I certainly didn't guess the ending before it was revealed!

The only thing that bothered me is that it felt like the portions of the book dealing with the characters relationship with God was forced a little. Don't get me wrong, I am definitely a fan of Christian fiction. I have zero issues with the characters being involved in their church or having a personal relationship with the Lord. In fact, it's refreshing to read. However, it did feel like some references to God were just added to make this marketable as a Christian fiction. That being said, I loved this story and plan on reading book one and keeping up with this series. I was very impressed by Coble's writing and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys a good mystery/thriller. Four out of five stars.

The cover and title is what originally drew me to this book.
The dangerous beauty of Lavender Tides is harboring secrets that reach around the world.
Ellie Blackmore is making a name for herself as a house flipper. But when her sister Mackenzie disappears, Ellie can’t focus on anything but uncovering what happened. Her only clue is the bloodstain on the deck of Mackenzie’s boat. Ellie knows her sister isn’t on the best of terms with her ex-husband, Jason, but he wouldn’t kill her—would he?
Coast Guard intelligence officer Grayson Bradshaw believes Mackenzie faked her own death after stealing a seized cocaine shipment. The problem is convincing Ellie, who seems to view him as the true enemy.
Both Ellie and Grayson want truth, but truth—and family—is often more complex than it first appears. From international terrorism to the peaceful lavender fields of Puget Sound, The House at Saltwater Point is a thrilling race to uncover the truth before it’s too late.
This was my first book by this author. It was alltogether an easy read. ♡ I give this book a
4.5 star rating!

It's hard to beat a mystery by Colleen Coble! She is one of my favorite authors anyway. I'm excited to see where this series takes us. It's right up there with Rock Harbor in my opinion!

It's not the tragedy that can ruin you- it's your own attitude toward it. You can let adversity make or break you. It's up to you.

This is my second read on the Lavender Tides series. The setting is peaceful but deadly, the characters seem simple but are complex. It seems fitting that Shauna and Zack from the first series spark the flame with Ellie and Grayson. Ellie a house flipper with a family tragedy in her past lives with guilt. A guilt that drives her with her current tragedy, the accusations and possible murder of her sister MacKenzie.

Ellie is now flipping her dream home at Saltwater Point when an argument with her sister ensues. When blood is found on her sister's boat, she will do anything to find the truth. What she does discover is a sister that she didn't know. With the help of Grayson, she is determined to find out what happened to her sister and why.

Ellie and Grayson in this venture discover who they are and at what cost. A family thriller that keeps family first!

A Special Thank You to Thomas Nelson Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review

Thanks to my relationship with The Fiction Guild's Elite Reader Program, I have been very fortunate to be a part of reading and reviewing so many great books. Coincidentally, I had requested an advanced reader digital copy of this book on NetGalley through my book blogging relationship with them. While the request was pending, I received a paperback copy from Fiction Guild sent me!

Today's book, The House at Saltwater Point is by Colleen Coble, an author whose books I've really come to love!  The House at Saltwater Point is the second book in Colleen Coble's Lavender Point series.  This book serves as a stand alone, but since I also read the first book in this series, The View from Rainshadow Bay, I was happy to catch up with the main characters from that book and to be introduced to Grayson and Ellie in this one.

Ellie Blackshaw is a local house flipper, who joins forces with Coast Guard Investigator, Grayson Bradshaw, when Ellie's sister, Mac, disappears. The disappearance seems to be connected with the disappearance of a large shipment of cocaine from a local warehouse. Grayson is firmly resolved to prove that Mac was behind the cocaine theft, while Ellie is desperately trying to prove that Mac is innocent and still alive.  What Ellie and Grayson discover is a whole lot more than what they bargained for and it becomes a race against time to keep things from turning deadly.

This story captured me right from the start. There is lots of action and excitement to keep readers engaged throughout this story.  As is usually the case with Ms. Coble's books, the characters are well written, interesting an unique. I can't wait to read the next book in this series -- I read somewhere that it may come out in January of 2019!

I was provided with a complimentary electronic advanced reader copy through Net Galley in exchange for my post.  I also received a paperback copy of this book without cost from the publisher through The Fiction Guild, a Thomas Nelson/Zondervan Elite Reader book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review, but because this was another great book, I wanted to do so!  The opinions I have expressed are my own!

What has happened to Mackenzie!? Did her ex husband murder her? why is there a bloodstain on the deck? Ellie will need to find her sister! This book was just okay for me but it has a decent story line and some suspense. I like my boos a little more action packed so although I would recommend reading don't expect this book to be a up all night kinda read.

The House at Saltwater Point by Colleen Coble is an adventurous and crazy read. Colleen has a way about her writing that is intense and gripping. She thinks through scenarios well and brings realistic plots to life. She adds details that are bought out in a “Murder She Wrote” kind of way. If you love mystery and murder books and not so much the lighthearted Hallmark type, you'll want to check this one out and move on to all her others.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The writing was strange like it had not been proofread. But the story held my interest. This mystery/ thriller caught and held me. The characters were real and somewhat mysterious. The settings were real and a pleasure to read. This book moved fast and then slowed at the perfect pace. I have an idea that this might be a new author and I hope she continues writing. Good story.

I am a Colleen Coble fan and the library I oversee has all of her books. And while we will put this one on our shelves, it is not my favorite. I was never drawn to the main characters like I have been in many of her other books. They seemed a bit shallow. And much of the romance scenes were a bit drippy. This books just lacked depth that I am accustomed to reading in mysteries.

And to be honest, I really don't care what a character that only appears once is wearing or what color their hair color is. It just seemed to me that this type of thing was thrown in to increase the word count. I would much rather have more gripping detailed scenes. And the 'love' scenes just happened a little too fast for my way of liking. Also, I can't imagine how Gray was able to do all he did with a bum leg. Been there and could not do half of what he was doing.

I received the book in exchange for a review which are my own words.

Ellie is a crackerjack at fixing up houses and making a profit after selling them. I sure would like to have her talent. I loved her nickname of "Hammer -Girl." The story is very intriguing and I enjoyed trying to figure out what happened to Ellie's sister Mackenzie. I would like to have known a bit more about Mackenzie and didn't quite relate to her at times.

Ellie doesn't believe the rumors about her sister stealing cocaine. When Mackenzie turns up missing the hunt is on for the truth. I liked how the author gave us a bit of background on Ellie and why she has a hard time believing in herself. Grayson is a bigger than life person with his size and fierce protectiveness. He wants to help Ellie but he also has a job to do. Will he help find Mackenzie and prove her innocence?

The story is unpredictable and really kept me on my toes. I wasn't sure who to believe at times which made the story so good. The author has an ability to take a plot and expand it with explosive details that keep you guessing. There is danger all around Ellie and Grayson. The terrorist part in the story was unexpected and made the book even harder to put down. It's funny what some people will do for power and money. Don't miss this intense action packed story that will have you on the edge of your seat.

I received a copy of this book from The Fiction Guild. The review is my own opinion.
