How do you wake up a sleeping baby bear? He doesn't stir for his parents, nor the moose, owl, or hare. That all changes when along comes a feisty robin.

My kids loved the interaction of all the animals and the cute illustration.

Cute story and cute illustrations! The story wasn't that creative (there are plenty of books with the sane premise), but. the art does stand out.

Plourde's Wake Up Baby Bear! is an adorable story about a sleepy baby bear who doesn't want to wake from hibernation. His parents can't wake him. Owl can't wake him. Moose tries to nudge Baby Bear awake with his antlers, but only succeeds is tumbling him from the cave, still sleeping. Baby Bear comes to rest against a shrub and ends up accidentally knocking a robin nest down. Mama Robin finally wakes him with a sharp peck on the nose. Good thing, too, for no sooner than he's awake but that the eggs hatch. Baby Bear tends the little birds while Mama finds food. She brings food for Baby Bear too, and by the time he is parents return, he's fast asleep again! The artwork in this book is just gorgeous! Perfect for a bedtime story, or for young readers practising alone.

An adorable children's story book that has beautiful illustrations. I loved the characters and the storyline. I'll read over and over to my grandchild.

I loved this one! In this sweet story, Baby Bear stays up past his hibernation time and now his parents and his friends are having trouble getting him to wake up even though spring has sprung. In a funny turn of events, he finds himself helping to nurture a nest of baby birds and in turn being nurtured by a mama bird before he's reunited with his friends and family. The illustrations are beautifully done. As an added bonus, it leads logically to further discussion about hibernation, life cycle and early science concepts for early readers. This one is definitely worth adding to the library and personal collection.

This is a very cute and colorful story about a baby bear who isn’t quite ready to wake up from hibernation. My little girls liked it, so it is a winner for me!

“Wake Up, Baby Bear!” is the perfect story for spring. It has beautiful illustrations and a sweet story.

Wake Up, Baby Bear is a cute story about the beginning of spring. It lacks depth in its characters and plot. Good illustrations but doesn’t pull a reader in. Kids may pass by this book without giving it the time it deserves. We all know bears sleep all winter and wake at the beginning of spring. I wanted more from this book.

Wake up Baby Bear was better than I expected it to be. The characters are simple but likable, and the story was a good one. About halfway it shifted, but this was a welcome adjustment. Baby Bear ends up taking on a role he may not be ready for, but he proves he can do his best at it. I thought the ending was great, and the illustrations looked rather amazing. This is not only a fun book but one where kids can learn a thing or two as well.

Winter is over and it is time for Baby Bear to wake up, but Baby Bear is sleepy and does not want to wake up! Mama Bear and Papa Bear try to wake him up, but Baby Bear responds with a resounding, "Zzzzzzz..." As Mama and Papa wander off to find some food, other woodland creatures decide they would like to try and wake Baby Bear. Baby Bear is then on a sleeping adventure as he rolls out of his den into the woods. As Baby Bear tries to get comfortable in his sleep, he knocks a bird's nest onto his chest. Who knew Baby Bear would be so hard to wake up? He is finally woken up by an angry Robin, who is worried about the safety of her eggs. Baby Bear then helps keep the eggs safe and watches as the baby birds hatch. Adventure ensues as Robin leaves Baby Bear to watch over her babies as she goes to find food.
This adorable book is beautifully illustrated, bringing to life all of the woodland creatures Baby Bear encounters throughout the story. Anyone who has a cub of their own that is difficult to wake up will appreciate Mama Bear and Papa Bear's plight to wake up Baby Bear! This book also has some great trivia questions and answers about Black Bears that children will find very informative!

Although it's time to wake from hibernating, Baby Bear's family and friends just can't get the tired bear to wake up. It takes a mother robin with a few well=placed pecks to get this bear awake.

This is a cute companion book to "Baby Bear's Not Hibernating." The pictures are soft and beautiful and the story is cute. Highly recommend this one for families and libraries.

Students and my grandchildren loved this book! We would be able to use this book for spring or for family themes. It is examples of friends helping and heard getting up. I absolutely loved it and read it a few times! 5 stars and beyond!

"Wake up Baby Bear" is a cute read about a little bear who is not quite ready to be done hibernating. One by one his friends try to wake him to celebrate Spring. Will Baby Bear every wake up??!

Baby Bear cannot keep his eyes open even though it's Spring and his hibernation time has come to an end. He stays up too late in the fall and finds he is unable to get himself awake and back into active life now that it's Springtime.

His buddies Moose, Owl, and Hare try their hardest to motivate him to rise and shine but to no avail. His eyes just won't say open. Finally a harried Mother Robin knows just how to get Baby Bear into gear and administers a hard peck on the end of his nose. Oh my!!! When he awakens he finds that Mother Robin has used his furry warm tummy as a rocking cradle for her nest with blue eggs inside.

"But as Baby Bear started to get up, Robin pecked him on the nose again and said, "Don't move! My eggs!"

Mother Robin makes it very clear that her eggs are not for Baby Bear's breakfast consumption as he thought they might be. He tries to get up thus spilling the eggs out of the nest. Luckily Baby Bear gently catches each one with his big paws and just in time too. You see the eggs are starting to crack open and chirping baby birds are starting to appear. The little robins are squawking loudly and extremely hungry.

Their Mother knows she needs to go and tend to their empty tummies. She asks Baby Bear if he will babysit while she goes to fetch them food. Will he agree and become the caring babysitter that is needed for such a time as this? What do you think his decision will be?

This book is a follow-up to "Baby Bear's Not Hibernating" and themes of friendship, diversity, teamwork, and parenting skills are featured. The author brilliantly includes Question and Answer pages at the back of the book to give the reader more factual and in-depth information about Black Bears.

The illustrations are truly beautiful. The colour pallet is soft and dreamy. They are done in muted watercolour which is so fitting to the theme of the book. "Wake Up, Baby Bear!" is wonderful to include in a classroom setting or elementary library and is a perfect bedtime story for home use. I highly recommend this book.

Such a cute story about a baby bear that is unable to wake up and enjoy spring because he stays up too late and doesn't hibernate when he should. HIs friends are all working together to try to wake him up. A great little story about going to bed on time and friends working together to help each other. The pictures are wonderful, as is the story.

I loved everything about this picture book. The story was short and sweet, the illustrations were stunningly beautiful, and they tie together nicely to create a book that any child would love to read before bed. I absolutely loved it.I will 100% be on the lookout for this book for my nephew, and hopefully for my own little bear down int he years to come.

Baby Bear is so tired from staying up too late in the fall, that he cannot wake up in the spring. A few pecks from a mother Robin does the trick and Baby Bear finally awakes just in time to do some babysitting.

I give this book a rating of 4 stars. I read it to my 4 year old daughter who enjoyed it. It was a cute story with great pictures.
At the end of the book there is some fun facts and information about black bears.
