Malpractice or A Fake?

Tug Wyler handles some fairly bizarre cases as a malpractice/Injury attorney. Still, this one may be the strangest. Actually there are two equally unusual clients in Elton’s case.

The first, referred to him by mentor Henry Benson, is sure to be questionable. All of his referrals are. Still, when Elton comes to him, a paraplegic as a result of actions by law enforcement, you would expect it to be a clear claim.

So why is the defense attorney telling Tug it is a fraud case even while offering to settle for a million dollars? Tricky. Could his client fake so serious an injury? You would think not,

The second case comes from a woman who has been treated weekly for decades for a throat injury, only to find when treatment becomes unavailable she is fine without it.

Seriously? Could a doctor have caused so much harm to her life for no reason? And why does the woman seem rather too close to the doctor?

Both cases are puzzlers. One could cost Tug his license. Both could cost his sanity. As always author Andy Siegel effectively reveals clues while he builds his case.

Tug Wyler…He Means Well

Tug is a unique character. He is determined to stay on the right side of the law, yet with Harry’s generally risky referrals he if forced into walking a fine line. Plus it’s a line Tug doesn’t even want to be on in the first place.

Each story in the Tug Wyler series has made me a fan. He’s not always likable–he admits that himself. He is always entertaining with a dry humor. He maintains a realistic self image that gives him charm. He is not an ambulance chaser (though he wouldn’t turn down that case either). His clients have suffered as a result of another, and their suffering is remarkable.

It makes the reader appreciate the need for a malpractice attorney, even while thinking there are too many frivolous lawsuits. Those are not the ones handled by Tug.

This entry in the Tug Wyler series is so entertaining, with very strange twists and shocking results.

The Series

Do give one a try. The series can be read in any order. Each stands alone quite well.

After reviewing one at the request of publisher, agent or author, I couldn’t resist reading others in the series. Mr. Siegel is an author I will follow now. Humor, drama, courtroom antics, and mystery in one fast paced novel. Love it!

This is the second book by this author that I have read, and a again I found it very well written, with a rather unusual legal storyline. Whilst I again found the characters very down to earth and realistic - the twist in the story was predictable. This story did not exactly hit the spot with me, yet it was good reading filled with a robust writing style
