As an ex counter-terrorist operative the author knows exactly what he's writing about. He gives us insight how these civil wars with different militias really work, how foreign intelligence services and/or armies meddle for their own interests, how the so-called jihad is not really about religion but about power. The civil war in Lebanon finished long ago, but we have a similar situation now in Syria. A.E.Sawan does not sugarcoat anything, describing the cruelty, absurdity and futility of war.

I do not give 5 stars for two reasons only: there are a few inconsistencies (years and places) and the quality of writing is good but not excellent.

Throughly thrilling story of a young man from Lebanon that shows the huge differences and realities of my life. This was interesting from beginning to end, a fast and intriguing story and one you wont forget in a hurry
