I loved this book. A great steamy smoking hot romance book that will leave you breathless and wanting more from this author. Great characters that will make you cheer for their love story.

A fun, quick read! The author did a fairly good job incorporating the settings into the story. Since one of the locations is my "home town" I was afraid that it might be unrealistic but it was pretty good.

The story was heartbreaking for the mother in me... but at the same time it was wonderful to see the familial relationship grow along with the romantic one!

Loved it! Gus is so cocky but not in the obnoxious kind of way. More like he won't give up for what he wants kind of way. And it is so good that Bo is different from every other woman and resists him because that is what sets her apart from others. Is what makes him recognize from the beginning that she is special, unique and the perfect fit for him. She is the one that is not reserved, that speaks her mind, doesn't fall for his sweet lines, disagrees with him at every step and makes him really work for it. With her, he has no problems in a lot more than one night and he works hard to earn her trust. Their personalities make for pretty good banter that will have you enjoying every page. It's such a fun read!

I've seen all the Misadventures books floating around but Misadventures With a Rookie is the first one I have read. I chose it because I was in the mood for a little hockey with my romance and I'm glad I did.

Gus and Bo are not very likable in the beginning. Bo is so determined to hate Gus that I wanted to smack her for the attitude she had sometimes while Gus was so cocky, it was no wonder Bo wanted to hate him. I thought the author did a fantastic job of bringing these two together and telling their story in a way that made perfect sense. It had a slow burn that was scorching and left me wanting more. Even though the other books in this series are written by different authors, I will be picking up a few more of them to see what they are like.

He Shoots, He Scores

This book was a win-win for me. I love hockey and hot sexy romance. This had all of this and more. Gus "The Bus" excels in everything that he does, primarily hockey and knowing how to make the ladies satisfied and happy. He is always up for a challenge an d Bo fits the bill. He is used to women throwing themselves at him, but not Bo. She is sassy and a tough cookie to crack. Bo has been burned before by a rookie hockey player and she is determined not to go down that road again.

Gus eventually wears her down and they end up falling hard for each other. But Bo has a secret and it could destroy every chance they have of being together. Will they be able to get through this and move on from Bo's past? You will have to read this to find out. This is the first book I have read of Toni Aleo's and I look forward to reading more.

Misadventures of a Rookie was a really good book in this series and I quite liked it a little better than the others I have read. This book tells the story of 'Gus the Bus' and he is a rookie who is going pro. He is handsome, huge, and has o problems with getting a different girl every night-and that is how he rolls.

Bo St James is an ice girl but also majoring in sports therapy and after being burned once, she is oblivious to all the guys on the team. She does not want to go through what she has again and figures all sports jocks are off limits!

That is until Gus looks up and sees her, and she won't even speak to him. It's game on between the two of them and Gus the Bus is not going to lose out on this opportunity, to get to know this feisty little beauty.

There is so much chemistry in the two of them and I like that the author gets into her characters and writes about them in a way that makes the reader realize there is more to Gus than his personna, and Bo is a lot nicer than she acts.

Will these two hook up-outside the emergency room that is? Read this and find out-I know you will love this! I gave this book 5 Stars.

This was my first Toni Aleo book, and I LOVED it. The leads were relatable, funny, and quickly became a pair I rooted for. Love stories with the bad-boy/nice-girl theme. Such a sexy, smart story. The Misadventures series is quickly becoming my favorite binge-read series. I highly recommend this one if you enjoy a steamy, fast-paced quicky. (Ha!)

I received an ARC of Misadventures with a Rookie for an honest review and ended up buying the book when it came out. I’ll start by saying that I have loved every book in the Misadventure series. They are fun, and sexy and great reads. Misadventures with A Rookie was no different. It was a fun, fast paced, laugh outloud sexy book about two unlikely people falling in love. Gus “The Bus” Persson is an up and coming hockey player waiting for his chance to make it to the big leagues and Bo St. James is an Ice girl working her way through college. This love to hate story was unlike any I’ve read, the scenes sexy and the banter witty and fun. I highly recommend that everyone read this one.

A fun read, I haven't read this author before. I have enjoyed reading the stories in the Misadventures. I will be definitely interested and checking out her other work in the future. I didn't love this and I didn't hate it, but I also didn't find any redeeming qualities for the hero Gus.
I think this trope has been so many times it just gets boring.

This is my first misadventures book and I know very little about them. The first time I’ve heard about the misadventures book was when I attended RARE London 2018, they had free copies from some authors that were new to me. I’ve read Toni Aleo before, so I was definitely on board for reading this one. You gotta love Toni Aleo’s sports romance especially her hockey series!

Let me just start off by saying that I had a bit of a love-hate relationship with Gus and Bo. I couldn’t handle them at times throughout the book, but it gets better as you make your way through their story. Gus is definitely a cocky SOB and you’ll probably hate his arrogant self, it had me guessing how he would turn into someone we’d love. He starts to grow on you as you learn more about him and that it takes the right person to bring out his true likable self; that’s Bo.

I struggled a bit with liking Bo, she’s has a hard exterior dealing with mistakes she claimed to make in her past. After she thought she had the love of her life, he chose the NHL over her and she has never been able to get past that. Her walls went up never to trust or date anyone who plays hockey. It’s a hard reminder for her.

As Bo and Gus dive into something that’s supposed to be fun, feelings get deeper and things change for the both of them. But it’s a lot harder for Bo to just give in and take a chance with Gus even when he proves time and time again that he wants nothing more than her.

I didn’t like that Bo wouldn’t constantly use the pain of her past and the mistakes of another guy to pin things on Gus, it wasn’t fair to him when he did nothing. He’s had his bachelor days, sowed his wild oats, he’s a rookie, but is extremely great at the sport.

Although it wasn’t my favorite hockey romance of hers, I still enjoyed it. This book gets better as you keep you reading, I struggled with it in the beginning, but it was a happy ever after for the both of them. I was hoping for an epilogue because I need to know more!

Hot hockey player was not interesting enough to get me past the juvenile language and the flavorless heroine.

This was a great read and another hit in this wonderful series. Toni Aleo wrote a fabulous quick read that I could not put done. Bo and Gus are great together and have awesome chemistry. I was rooting for them from the beginning and I wanted to know what was in Bo’s past and you finally hear it at the end. I highly recommend this book and any of the books for this series.

Another fantastic book in the misadventures series. This is my favourite thow as I do really like this author and her books. There is plenty going on in this book and the author has got it just right with the amount of action, romance etc. The story really pulled me in and kept me hooked right the way through the book. I really liked the characters in this story, they made me laugh and smile while reading this book and I especially liked how they get together. The characters are what make this such a fantastic book to read and I can’t wait for more in the misadventures series. I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone

MISADVENTURES WITH A ROOKIE by Toni Aleo is a stand-alone, contemporary, new adult, sports romance story line, a part of the multi-authored MISADVENTURES series. This is twenty-two year old AHL’s Malibu Suns hockey defenseman Gus ‘The Bus’ Persson, and twenty-one year old Sun’s ice girl/college student Bo St. James’ story line.

NOTE: I have seen this cover and title in two formats including Misadventures of a Rookie.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Gus and Bo) MISADVENTURES WITH A ROOKIE follows the acrimonious relationship between AHL’s Malibu Suns hockey defenseman Gus ‘The Bus’ Persson, and twenty-one year old Sun’s ice girl/college student Bo St. James. Bo wants nothing to do with a man like Gus Persson. She knows his type only too well-a love’em and leave’em kinda guy whose reputation with the ladies, and his arrogant and cocky personality precedes his introduction to our story line heroine but a persistent Gus Persson slowly begins to break down Bo’s no-hockey player policy. With secrets in her past, Bo struggles with her attraction and reactions to our story line hero. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Bo and Gus, and the potential break-down when Gus is called up to the professional league.

Throughout the story line our couple find themselves caught up in a series of misadventures that land one or the other in the hospital ER. From a sprained ankle and dog bites, to a hilarious but painful allergic reaction, our couple find themselves participants in a comedy of errors as their relationship continues to grow and build. Bo’s preconceived notions about Gus are quickly blown out of the water with the revelation that his privileged upbringing was anything but. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense; Gus likes to talk dirty both in and out of the bedroom.

We are introduced to Gus’ parents, a couple whose humor, and love and support of their son hides an earlier failure that left Gus and his mother struggling to survive. The opposite end of the spectrum finds Bo’s parents struggling with our heroine’s sins of the past, as their constant reminders push our heroine further out of their life.

MISADVENTURES WITH A ROOKIE is both humorous and heart breaking as our couple navigate through a series of screw-ups, and secrets. The premise is engaging and enjoyable; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are colorful, fun and entertaining.

Omg I have never read a book by this author and now I wanna read more. I loved this storyline. Kept me wanting to read it. Definitely recommend this book!!

Bo is so guarded in this book but Gus the bus has the right moves to knock down her walls! This is a really fun book with really interesting characters. How they meet and end up at the ER all the time is really humorous! I love his tenuous spirit and that he can see right through her rough exterior. The ending was great, it was the perfect way to wrap up this story! Fun and perfect for a sit by the pool or beach read!

This was the 1st hockey story I've read ever and now I'm addicted. This story was so good and refreshing compared to what I've been reading. Plus this was my 1st story by Toni and I'm hooked. Can't wait to read more by her.

OMG!!! I love these misadventures books.
I'm not really a big hockey fan but you don't have to be to love this book.
Gus is a hockey genius. He's been drafted to play in the minor leashes till he gets some real experience as a player before they call him up to the big leagues...The Tornadoes. He's a man white who sleeps with women once and only once till he sees Bo.
She rejects him time and time again. She has her reasons and secrets. Oh boy dies she have her secrets.
They have a very weird and trying relationship. But it's also a relationship like no other once they both let down their guard.
