If you love cocky, confident. sexy hockey players and strong, sassy females then this book is for you.

Gus is a player on and off the ice. when he sets his eyes on Bo it's game over. These two have off the charts chemistry mixed with a a fair amount of bad luck. That creates a sexy, fun, emotional story, That will have you swooning.

This was a big fat no, did not finish for me. I think I've only liked one book out of this series. Disappointing

Everyone LOVES Gus ‘the Bus’ Persson! His ice hockey skills are off the scales, and so are his other skills... with the ladies, lol! He's known for being quite the player. So, it's a bit of a shock to him when one particular girl that's caught his eye – Bo St. James – wants nothing to do with him!

Gus repulses Bo – she’d rather eat dirt than be another notch on his bedpost. The thing is though, behind all the nasty looks and snide remarks she throws his way, much to her annoyance she's actually really attracted to him! BUT, she's fallen for someone like Gus before and she doesn't want to go down that road again!

It's extremely hard to ignore the heat between them though, and it's not long before Gus has gotten under Bo's skin.

Omg! This book is one you HAVE to read. I loved it! Bo is so sassy and quirky and Gus is just so full of himself! (But you soon forgive him that), lol!

This is my first Toni Aleo read, and I instantly fell in love with her style of writing. I can't wait for her other book in this series – Misadventures with a Manny – due for release October 9th, 2018.

5 stars all the way!!

Oh, how I loved Gus and Bo's story! There is something about a hockey romance that just makes my heart happy. Having said romance be written by Toni Aleo makes it even better.. This is part of the Misadventures series, but can be read as a standalone.

Gus and Bo are two very different people, you think, when you first start reading. When the story first started out, I wasn't sure how I felt about Gus. He seemed so arrogant and I just didn't know if I could handle it. I kept reading though because I wanted to know what happened with Bo and Gus. I was dying to know Bo's story because there seemed to be something there. The more I read, the more I loved it!

Everything about these two was what I needed. Gus, the man who didn't do girlfriends and Bo, the woman who didn't do hockey players. These two had such a good story. I loved it.

I've read several in the Misadventures series, and while this wasn't my favorite it wasn't my least favorite either. Everyone loves a good athlete romance story, and once you get past the arrogance of him at the start of the book it's pretty good.

This may be one of my favorite Misadventures to date and one of my favorite Toni Aleo books to date.
Bo and Gus have chemistry. That much is undeniable. Bo WANTS to hate Gus on principle but he slowly wins her over but does she have it in her to put her past behind her and to not repeat the same mistakes? Gus the Bus is known as Mr. One and Done and how on earth he finds himself falling for this girl, he could never tell you why. This was a steamy, beautiful story of letting go and letting someone else in. I especially loved the ER visits...those had me smiling and laughing throughout.

Toni Aleo is one of my favourite authors so as soon as I saw she was involved in a Misadventures book I had to read it, she did not disappoint what a fantastic read Misadventures of a Rookie is.
Gus Persson has it all, a Rookie with a shot at the NHL but is also a complete manwhore he has a one and done reputation that most of his teammates envy. Every puck bunny wants him except for the ice bunny with the beautiful red hair and what ever he does he can’t get her attention.
Bo St James knows what she wants and how she is going to get it and messing around with a player is not on the cards, it’s not in her future because they only cause heartbreak and she certainly is not getting nvolved with the biggest heartbreaker of them all Gus Persson.
This is a funny, emotional story about two people changing how they look upon live when feelings become involved, the witty banter between Gus and Bo is perfect and I was hooked from the first page to the very last line. This is a love story with real characters and if you love Hockey and sports romance this is a must read.......

Toni Aleo wrote this beautifully. I totally wanted to become Bo. Her personality was amazing. And boy I'd love to start stalking hockey players if it means I'd land a Gus. I love the relationship the two have. laughable and completely lovable. Read this book!

I have never read this author before. But this will change I absolutely LOVED this story. It is the story of rookie, Gus and Bo, a student who also works as girl at hockey games. Gus likes her and she thinks he is a manslut and wants no part of a hockey player.
This is his story of getting her to give him a chance and I totally loved Gus and I loved them together. It was sweet, romantic and a total winner in a romance.

4 1/2 Stars!

Gus "The Bus" Persson is a cocky rookie just biding his time in the minors before he is called up to the NHL, which is just a matter of time. Bo St. James is in her last year of college and has several part time jobs with one of them as ice girl for the team Gus plays on. Oh she noticed the arrogant a$$ ... who wouldn't when he isn't happy unless he is in the limelight. But she has no plans of getting near him because she's been there, done that. She got her heart broken by a rookie ... just like him. But when Gus notices her, he can't help the chemistry he feels between them and he pursues her relentlessly.

This is a sweet and sexy fun romance that will have you laughing out loud. I just love that they both end up in the ER ... multiple times. The banter between them and also other characters is too cute. And then there is Gus' mom ... what a hoot! If you are looking for a quick fun read and one-click this book ... you won't regret it!

And the Queen is back.

I have always loved Toni Aleo and her hockey novels, and this one made no difference.

You’d hate Gus initially. He’s so full of himself and his confidence is just oozing to the point of arrogance. But in fairness to him, he was one of the best defenseman in his team. He scores with every game both in or out of court.

So why is she ignoring him?

Bo St. James doesn’t have time for players, most especially hockey players. No matter how hot Gus Persson is, there was no way she was going after him. She knows his type. She have been burned before. It’s not going to happen again. She was going to finish college, and nothing will distract her, even this hottie.

You’d eventually fall in love with Gus. Indeed, first impression never lasts. No matter how arrogant he is at first, he’d win you over. He’s funny, he has a great relationship with his parents and he’s very thoughtful.

I laughed out loud with their misadventures. They'd do some crazy, out of this world stuffs and ended up in the ER. But they never left each other. They were always there to hold each other's hand even if Bo was unsure. Even if Bo hesitated at first.

This book is not just about toe-curling, steam-filled romance - but Misadventures with a Rookie talks about family dynamics and relationships. It’s amazing how lucky Gus is with his parents. His relationship with them is almost perfect. They’re like friends, but somehow the respect is still there. You’d understand Bo’s circumstances as well. It’s hard at first - because we’d think she made the wrong decision or she could have known better - but no. I think she made the perfect decision of what she did. It was painful, it was dreadful, but it was necessary.

Just like any other Toni Aleo hockey books, I enjoyed reading Misadventures with a Rookie. It’s fun, sweet, sexy with just the right ounce of drama. Perfect for an afternoon read.

Misadventures with a Rookie was a very good book. Bo is a very strong woman & doesn't take crap from anyone including Gus the Bus. Gus is used to women throwing themselves at him all the time. When he sees Bo & decides that he wants her & goes after her, she turns him down. She has been down this same path before & doesn't want to get hurt again. Gus isn't taking "No" for an answer & pushes himself into her life. After Bo gets to know Gus, she wants to let him in but has a hard time doing so & doesn't want Gus to find out her secret. Gus wants to know her secret but never guesses it in a million years. Can Gus really want something more with Bo? Can Bo let her guard down for Gus? There are some very heartbreaking moments in the book but also some very hilarious moments. I wish the ending was a little longer & didn't stop so suddenly but otherwise the book was great.

This was a great addition to the Misadventures series! At first glance Gus seems like your typical man whore hockey player, which is exactly why Bo is trying to avoid him at all costs. Well that and he reminds her of someone else and another time that she never wants to repeat. But Gus is nothing if not persistent and turns out he just needed to meet the right woman. This book had plenty of steamy scenes and a few comedic ones as well (including memorable ER visits) that had me reading this in one sitting. Another great hockey romance by Toni Aleo.

Misadventures with a Rookie by Toni Aleo is book 11 in the Misadventures series. This is the story of Gus “the Bus” Persson and Bo St. James. This is easily a standalone book
Gus is a rookie but did just get drafted with a NHL team called The Tornadoes but is temporarily on the Malibu Suns team...and this is where Gus meets Bo.
Bo is studying to be a sports therapist and as part of a internship she is working as a Ice Girl on the Malibu Suns for about a year. Bo knows that Rookies are always thinking girls like her are easy and she sees that in Gus. Gus does have a reputation with the women and he has looks to back what he is offering but Bo is focused on her career.
Once they stop bickering and start seeing the other person as who they really are their relationship takes off.
Really enjoyed this book~

Ugh, Gus is an arrogant jerk. Ugh, Bo is a snotty, stuck up, fiery, ginger. If it ended where it starts, you'd never grow to love the characters, and these two really are the most lovable. Gus is really the guy most ready to poke fun at himself. Under the cockiness is a heart of gold. Bo doesn't want to risk disappointing everyone again so she holds people she considers dangerous at arm's length. If there are two characters more perfect for each other, I don't know them! If you give this one a chance, I bet you'll be rooting for them by the end!

New Adult sports romance

This book was initially a little hard for me to get into. Gus's arrogance in the beginning was a big turn off. It's just not my thing though I know a lot of readers enjoy the transformation of an arrogant guy to a sweetie. I persevered only because I've really enjoyed the other Misadventures I've read. The book ended up being an okay read, I eventually warmed up to the idea of Bo and Gus as a couple. I won't leave a spoiler here but Bo's past issues and her relationship with her mother and Davis were part of the problem.
I received an advance reader copy from Netgalley.

This started off not so great for me. I honestly thought about not continuing this in the beginning. I thought that Gus was so damn arrogant and that Bo was an angry stuck up redhead. Now I’m not saying that it’s my favorite book of all time or the series, but it grew on me and I came to like it.

As you read, you realize there is more to Gus and Bo. I went from not really feeling it to rooting for them to make to the end. The relationship between them shifted and I was all here for it! They both realized that this was so much for than what they planned for. I really ended up getting attached to them. There were times that I wanted to hug Bo and tell her how strong she was. Also, Gus ended up being so dreamy that I couldn’t help smiling when he spoke.

I couldn’t give it more than 3 stars because of the rocky beginning and I would have loved an epilogue or some kind of future look at them.

Overall, this was full of steam and funny moments. While it’s not my favorite in the series, it is a good book and if you enjoyed the others you should give this one a shot.

Gus and Bo’s story is amazing. Toni Aleo writes in such a way that you can feel what they are going through. As a young mother I was able to relate to so many of the challenges that were presented and I can understand what it was like. Seeing Bo and Gus grow together is amazing and can give people hope that when they think something can't go right there is always hope.

This was an amazing book! I could not put it down. Bo and Gus, holy cow, what a pair. They just need to keep a room booked permanently at a hospital. Gus is an amazing hockey player trying to make it to the pros and Bo is just trying to make it. She hates hockey players due to her past experiences, but Gus will change her mind eventually. Gus has always been a one time kind of guy, but Bo will tame him in a way that no one else could even think about. Bo has major issues with commitment and promises and Gus seems to be the right man to break down her walls. Best Misadventures Yet!
