Head Over Heels by Serena Bell

I did not finish this book, and will not be writing a review for it as a result. There were just too many sex scenes in it (and that usually isn't something I would say) and I couldn't connect with the characters. I loved the idea, but the execution just didn't work for me.

Okay, you just knew Chase and Liv were going to cross those lines eventually, right? Especially when he asked her to help out being Katie's nanny for the couple weeks before she moved. Well, when one kiss showed how much chemistry they had there was no turning back and they are best friends and all. What will happen when commitment and stay-in-one-place Liv packs up and leaves? These two are perfect for each other if only they can figure it out in time!

I never downloaded this book because I was never notified that I was approved for it. I'm rating it 3 stars because I haven't read it and I don't know if it's good, great or bad.

I enjoyed this story about Chase & Olivia and how they go from friends to lovers. Chase hires Olivia to look after his daughter Katie, who is struggling with the loss of her mother, The journey from friend and helper to co-parent as they work to give love a second chance.

This was a really cute story with some elements that really rang true to life. I didn't really connect with the characters as much as I would have liked and found Olivia's insistence that she couldn't commit to Chase a little too emphasized, but overall the story was pretty nice. The steam level was sufficient for the story's insistence on the forced-proximity chemistry as well. I wouldn't say it was a deep story as Chase's background was vague in his ability to overcome it and Olivia's was a bit too formulaic to hit me in the feels. Katie is written mostly well, not exactly true to age, but her personality was adorable and her pain was moving and painful. I liked where they ended up and they made a very cute family.

A quick and easy romance read that will satisfy most readers. Chase and Liv had a strong friendship that turned into more but i do wish there was more of a buildup to their first hookup.

This book was a fun read. Chase is a new full time dad. The mother of his daughter died and he now has his daughter full time. Working full time, being a dad and trying to find time for you is extremely hard, but with the additional issue that his daughter lost her mother far too young, it is a new element to deal with.

Olivia, once was a set up by one of his best friends, now a real great friend is looking for a place to stay until she starts her new job. She seems like a perfect fit for his nanny issue. She will only be able to fill the gap until she leaves for Denver for her new job, but this gives him time to really look for the perfect person.

The friends who used to meet up after dates gone wrong are now living under the same roof. They learn a little more about each other. They find they both enjoy what they have found and Liv, is falling in love with not only him, but his daughter. Chase, has found the perfect nanny, and partner, but will he be able to express his true feelings?

Will her need to always be on then move keep her moving on or has she finally found her home?

A sweet friends to lovers romance that will make you smile!🥰

This was a sweet simple love story with some sizzle and some spice! Most romance storylines have been done time and time again, so in general I think romance authors are really good at creating amazing characters.... this book was no exception to that, I particularly liked Liv and her relationship with Chase’s daughter Katie....

Chase and Liv swear that they will never be more than friends, been there, done that, have the T-shirt... but when newly widowed Chase needs a nanny and Liv is currently out of a nannying job, it only makes sense? And it’s a little harder to just be friends with such close quarters... but both Liv and Chase have skeletons in their past and Liv is planning on moving in a couple weeks time out of state... so can these two fight the attraction? Can they overcome the hurdles that stand in their way?

This was a sweet heartwarming story, although a bit predictable... I truly adored the relationship between Chase and Liv and I thought things were handled really well when it came to Katie.... what I found a bit odd was while these characters were dealing with dark pasts, it didn’t seem to be much of an issue that Chase recently lost his wife? How can he feel for Liv something he has never felt for anyone before, when he has just been widowed? Just a little something that bugged me...

A lovely love story with some definite steam! Recommend if you are a romance Reader and you like a little sex in between the pages🔥

Serena Bell's Head Over Heels was the first book by this author I have ever read and it was such a witty and fun book to read that I plan to read more by her.

Was a great afternoon read. I love the way this author writes. Would definitely recommend and would read her work again.

The Chemistry is most definitely there.
Chase and Liv are complete opposites in every way, but they are still best friends.

For Liv, never staying in one place for very longs helps avoid her getting hurt, like she did growing up in foster homes.

Well Chase’s ex passes away and leaves him as a full time dad. He steps into the rule with all he has, but he need a little help and hires nannies to help, but when they fall through Liv steps up to the plate and this is when Chase and Liv’s relationship gets stronger.

This was a fun friend to lover read.

Wonderful summer or beach read. Just enough character development to feel like it wasn’t the same romance I have read before! Having a friend that you fake bad dates for just so you spend some tome together was so sweet, and while there was family, the daughter was sweet and endearing each step of the way. I loved the added camp store, not something I have ever read about before, but totally something myself and readers like me can relate to. Loved it!

You know...maybe I am just getting tired. But I kid you not, this was the third book in a row in which the hero had some sort of learning disability. And the issue is not with bringing these themes to books, is the fact like I said that I read three books in a row with the same theme. There has to be something else that we can bring to the table. I am growing increasingly frustrated by the lack of originality in the romance genre. Besides that, the book was average at best.

After having LOVED my first book by Serena Bell, I was so eager to read Head Over Heels. While not as good as Do Over for me, I enjoyed this friends-to-more romance very much. It had well-developed characters that I was able to connect with. I only wish I had sensed the chemistry between Chase and Live a bit more. I did love their friendship though! I will definitely be reading more from this series.

First of all - UGH, first person present tense. WHY? Thankfully, Serena Bell makes it work for her for the most part. This book is very reminiscent of When Harry Met Sally with the whole premise of "Can men and women just be friends?" Head Over Heels is fun and lighthearted, but at the same time it absolutely made me cry towards the end because Bell really made me care about the characters.

Chase and Liv are total opposites - Liv is high maintenance and into interior decor, and Chase is happiest going for an extended camping trip during which he doesn't bother to shower. They meet on a blind date and instantly know that a romantic relationship would never work out for them, but somehow they end up becoming best friends, and that's all they'll ever be... or is it?

Chase and Liv both have dark things in their past that effect the adults they've become, and that hold them back and trap them. This is a really fun friends to lovers, opposites attract romance, but it also is a book about how Chase and Liv deal with their childhood trauma. They both have struggles they need to overcome and I love that there is so much character development for both of them throughout the book. Also, Chase's daughter Katie is the most adorable thing in the world and I want to hug her and squeeze her and play Princesses and Fairies with her and squeeze her little cheeks. While there are plenty of serious issues being dealt with, there is also a LOT of fun to be had, and the back and forth between Liv and Chase is so great.

I'm not usually a big fan of stories with single moms/single dads/kids, but I'm glad I gave Head Over Heels a read. I definitely recommend it for anyone who loves a good friends to lovers romance.

What a really great book. I’m not normally a fan of romances with kids, but this one was so sweet, so charming that I found myself totally caught up in it. The main characters, Liv and Chase, narrate the story, and I thought they both sounded authentic. It’s a friends to lovers tale that has lots of tender moments and lot and lots of hot, sexy times, too. I’m really looking forward omraeading more from Serena Bell.

A fluffier read than many of Serena Bell's other books, but a delightful read all the same. A fun summer book for those beach trips.
