Cute friends to lovers book!

Chase is a single father of 5 year old Katie. Liv is planning to take a job in another state in 2 weeks. But they have been friends for years after going on a date and deciding they’d make a horrible couple. Both have issues from past relationships.

Chase is stuck! He needs a nanny, and now! Liv agrees to watch Katie until she has to leave for her new job and this gives Chase a chance to find someone more permanent. Their proximity while Liv watches Katie, makes Chase rethink his commitment issues!

Somehow, I had difficulty relating to this book. It felt very weird, but Liv’s aversion to making a personal commitment and yet she and Chase were perfect together and Katie loves Liv immediately! I think I was looking for a tiny bit of “real life” to interfere, but it never happened. I still enjoyed this book, but it wasn’t a stay-with-me book, nor was it anything taxing my brain.

Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review an ARC of this book. I am providing my honest review.

I love a good book with a single dad. Chase has full custody of his daughter. He is in need of a nanny while he is working. When the nanny turns out to be very lazy he needs help quickly. Thankfully his friend Liv steps in to help out until she leaves for her new job. Chase and Liv meet on a date and decided they would be better off as just friends. They realize once she moved in there was an attraction there. I loved their friendship.

If your looking for a quick fun read with a hot single dad look no further.

Two people, Chase, (single father of 5 year old Katie) and Liv go on a first date and realize it is a no sparks. Realizing they are too different, decide to be friends and only friends. Both have their own relationship issues stemming from their own pasts. All is great with the friendship until weeks before Liv leaves town to take a job in Denver, Chase needs a nanny immediately. Having time before she needs to leave town Liv comes to the save the day to work for Chase while he finds someone full time. Not a deep plot. A bunch of soft sex which bored me. Easy read but nothing exciting.

After a blind date gone wrong, Liv and Chase decide to remain friends. They have nothing in common after all. Chase thinks she's high maintenance and Liv thinks he's too simple. They are exact opposites, not even agreeing on a movie they both like. As friends, they completely "get" each other often commensurating on dates gone wrong. They even celebrate bad dates with movie night, on the couch watching different movies.

When Chase finds himself in need of a nanny for his 5yr old daughter, he asks Liv for help. She agrees, but she's leaving in a month for a job out of state. As time passes, their friendship blossoms into something more. Neither one of them are ready to admit their feelings, until Liv leaves for her job.

If you're looking for a fun, flirty, sweet romance this is the one for you! I loved when Chase and Liv played with his daughter. It was especially funny when she made Liv the "ugly" frog! I enjoyed all the little touches, additions Liv made to Chase's life making them more of a "family". I loved Liv's camping experience too! I read a gifted copy from Netgalley and all opinions stated are my own.

Chase finds himself needing a nannie for his five-year old daughter Katie. His best friend Liv agrees to take the job until he can find someone. Proximity breeds more than friendship.

I received an arc from Netgalley. Liv and Chase go out on a blind date and while they think they have nothing in common sometimes the power of opposites attract is not so evident right away.

After a time of friendship Liv helps out Chase in a time of need with his daughter. Little do they know that close quarters demonstrates friends can definitely be great lovers. Great read.

I enjoyed this. It was fine. I had some issues but those will be addressed in my full review that I will hopefully be getting up soon on my channel. But overall, it was a fine read for me. Enjoyable enough and quick.

A twist on the classic friends-to-lovers story which I thoroughly enjoyed. Chase and Liv first met on a blind date wherein they both agreed that they would be better off as friends. After three years of being best friends and each having other relationships, it seems that Liv's impending move to Denver is the catalyst for Chase to reevaluate his feelings for her.

Liv has a strict policy of never becoming too attached to people. Growing up in foster homes has left her with lots of feelings of insecurity and a closed off heart. Never wanting to be the one left, she often is the first to leave.

Chase, on the other hand, is not really looking for love, but since he's now a single dad, he has no time for love. That's okay. He has all he needs with family and his best friend, who is now leaving him for her dream job in Denver.

When Liv needs a place to stay for a few weeks before her move, Chase offers to let her stay with him while he searches for a new nanny for his daughter. It seems that it’s a perfect situation for everyone.

I enjoyed the way both characters were written as well as their interactions with Katie, Chase's daughter. I can't wait to read more from this author.

Chase and Liv were best friend after disaster blind date. They couldn’t agree on a single thing and they decided to become friends. Ever since then they have been each other’s comfort. They would always get together after bad dates, break ups and just to hand out.
Chase has a 5 year old daughter and he is in desperate need of nanny.. When he hears his best friend Liv is available, he asks her to be his live-in nanny for Katie until she leaves for Denver in couple of weeks.
Sparks are flying between Chase and Liv. They constantly disagree on everything yet they enjoy tormenting each other. But when it comes to Katie, both are all in for what is best for her. Liv and Chase have their own problems from the past and sometimes it gets in the way.
Now they give into their spark but will it last longer than just couple weeks. Liv needs to decide if Chase could be her forever home.

I love reading books by this author. It was perfect summer fun reading. Their banters were great and their relationship was great. I would recommend this book for HEA lovers.

I adored Chase and Liv and their story hit all my romance loving tropes...opposites attract, friends-to-lovers and single dads! Yes, there was lots of sex in the book...as others have commented, but I had no issues with that...it was damn hot!
I’m not going to rehash what you can read in the blurb nor throw out any spoilers. As a fan of Serena Bell, appreciate both her storytelling and the pacing in this book. I loved this book, I hope you all, too.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC...all thoughts are my own and freely given

Solid 3.5

I love that they were in Seattle-- just wish the city was featured a bit more (the scenes in woods were kind of vague). I'm such a sucker for books based where I live, so I obsess about where the characters are.

Anyway, other than that I enjoyed the friends to lovers and the single dad aspect. Their friendship turned relationship was fun to read and they had a great connection.

Chase has full custody of his daughter since her mother died. He works as a manager at a privately owned sporting goods store, and when his nanny turns out to be lazy and incompetent, he needs help fast. His friend, Liv, needs somewhere to live before she heads off to her new job in Denver in a couple of months. Since she has been a nanny while working her way through school, Liv agrees to help Chase out.
Chase and Liv met on a date set up by a friend, and immediately agreed that they wouldn't suit. They did find out that they had a lot in common, and started commiserating with each other after either of them would go on a crappy date.
When Liv moves in, they are both surprised by the fact that there appears to be some attraction between them, even though they appear to have nothing in common. Liv is determined to never get tied down to one place, though, and Jared has a life where they are.

What I liked: the friendship between Chase and Liv, and how they didn't have to be exactly alike, even once they started realizing their attraction to each other. Chase, in spite of not being considered worthy of it by his ex, or his parents, was a really good father. And Liv never tried to be anything else but a friend to his daughter, even while she found all these different ways for them to do something. Liv and Chase supported each other, and continued to be friends while they were also roommates. I liked the fact that they kept their relationship from Chase's daughter because they knew that it wouldn't last long. I also liked the fact that they continued to get to know one another, and that Liv couldn't understand the dynamics between Chase and his parents, but she was always on his side.

What I didn't like: how focused they were on maintaining the status quo, instead of realizing how special what they had was.

Overall impression: Told in 1st person POV present tense, alternating between Liv and Chase. Well written, with characters I would like to know in real life.

Olivia goes from being best friends with Chase to being his live-in nanny. The two steam up the pages as they figure out how to navigate their friendship when they realize they have romantic feelings for one another.
Excellent read!

This book is a feel good friends-to-lovers romance that had me laughing out loud while reading about the antics and imagination of Chase’s 5 year old daughter, Katie, who is the light of his life and the star of this entertaining book. Both Chase and Liv have good reasons for staying single so neither one of them has any inkling that living together will have them seeing each other in a whole new light. My favorite part of the story is when Chase drags Liv into the woods for a weekend of camping, hiking and fishing that is endlessly entertaining and illustrates how great these two characters are for each other though they’re the last to realize it. If you enjoy a lighthearted romance with a lot of heart, this is definitely the book for you. I read a complimentary copy through NetGalley and all opinions in my voluntary review are completely my own.

3.5 stars

I enjoyed Head Over Heels, by author:Serena Bell. Chase, a single father, asks his best friend Olivia to be his stand-in nanny while he searches for a new one. They met on a blind date 3 years ago but decided immediately they had no chemistry and were better off friends. Living in close quarters is challenging those beliefs, but Liv is leaving, and Chase has to think of what’s best for Katie.

I always enjoy the friends-to-lovers trope, and this story was no exception. I adored how straight forward and honest Chase was with Liv about his attraction to her. I can’t quite say the same for Liv. I found the part where she came on to Chase a very bizarre transition. It kind of came out of left field for me. And I do wish we’d seen a more gradual development of feelings between them.

I think the strength of this story was in the character growth. Bell did a good job with both MCs soul searching and consequent realizations, most especially with Chase’s reaction to their initial date.

I would recommend this to those who like a friends-to-lovers story, or to anyone who wants a quick, cute, relatively angst free story.

This one kept me reading. I loved the strong female character. She was a little whiny but not over the top and it was definitely warranted.
I LOVED Chase. Hes kind of an a$$ but so sweet.
I really like the twists. It doesnt happen quite like you would think.
Makes for good reading.

A blind date caused these two meet, not connect romantically, but become real friends. Now when the fella needs his friend to help with his young child... she moves in. The close contact, the yoga pants and special moments changes the dynamic...

Head Over Heels is a sweet friends to lovers plus single dad romance; rom-com! I truly enjoy single parent romances and rom-coms. It's been a while since I've read one that was both.

Chase Crayton is a single dad to a beautiful and intelligent 5-year-old daughter named Katie, whose mom died two months ago. She is still suffering and mourning her loss having lived with her the majority of the time. Chase works in a sporting goods store and the owner wants him to buy him out but he is struggling with finding a nanny to take care of Katie. His best friend Olivia 'Liv' is soon to leave for Denver for a new job. While he looks for a full-time nanny he asks her to help him out to which she graciously accepts.

Chase and Liv had always had an understanding of not ever really fitting in as a couple. They didn't 'suit' or 'fit' each other since they can't even agree on their meals. What's the harm in living under the same roof for two weeks right? Wrong! Soon after Liv moves in with them, sparks fly. This hidden chemistry/attraction between them awakens and comes together in an explosion so great it's almost breathtaking. The sex scenes had me fanning myself. That being said, I'm not sure if it spoke to me a deeply as I would have liked. I've read a few better ones. This one did speak about some of the issues people with ADHD suffer from and how their family views them which is an eye-opener. All in all, I give it four stars.

This is an entertaining friends to lovers story. Chase and Olivia are good friends and don’t want to ruin their friendship by getting involved romantically with each other. They enjoy hanging out together and usually meet up after dates with other people to compare notes and complain.

Chase and Olivia first meet when they are set up on a blind date. They immediately realize they are all wrong for each other and become good friends instead. They are the exact opposite of each other and they know things could never work between them. Olivia is high maintenance. She loves art museums and chick flicks. Chase is low maintenance. He loves anything involving the outdoors and action flicks. They are each looking for someone who enjoys the same things they do.

Chase has a five year old daughter named Katie. Her mom has recently died and now she is living with Chase full time. Chase and Katie are having a difficult time adjusting to their new life together. He is trying to figure out being a full time dad to a little girl who just lost her mom. Katie is sweet but grieving. Chase needs a nanny and asks Olivia for help until he can find a permanent nanny.

They each have baggage from their past and are afraid to open their hearts. Once Olivia agrees to become Katie’s nanny, the dynamics slowly change between Chase and Olivia and they aren’t sure how to deal with it. I’m not sure why but I had a hard time connecting to the story.
