Chase Crayton is desperate, he needs someone to care for his daughter as soon as possible, but he can't trust just anyone with the task... enter his best-friend Liv Stratten. She is not only someone he can trust, but also someone he can share a living space with without complications, and of course she is great with kids, so what could possibly go wrong? Well, when you put two people with great chemistry in the same house, sharing everything from meals to intimate moments, it's bound to stir up some unexpected feelings, feelings that they were certain would never happen between them. He loves having Liv around, but with each day that passes, the harder it becomes to keep her in his guest bedroom and out of his own!

When Chase asked Liv to help him out, and move into his place and become his live-in nanny, she had some reservations about them living in tight quarters with one another, but he really needs her help and she just can't let him down. So she moves in, and things seem to run smoothly between them, almost too smoothly, and before long it leads to some heated glances and butterflies in her belly that she never expected. This wasn't supposed to happen between them, they met on a blind date that didn't pan out, so why now after all of this time are there sparks bouncing around between them?

Head Over Heels is an emotionally rich tale that is destined to stir up the feels and leave you swooning... seriously what is not to like about a sexy, dedicated single dad! This was a fun little read to devour, once I cracked the cover and the words took over, I just couldn't put it down... it was not only addictive, but also good for my heart! If you like heartwarming friends to lovers stories, then I highly suggest you pick this one up, it's certain to hit the mark, and squeeze your heart!

I requested an advanced copy of this title and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.

Very cute, fun, and funny book! Read it in a few nights! I'm not the type for steamy sex scenes, so i skip thru those. There was not too many though. I lost some sleep because it was a fun read!

3.5 - "This was a a good day." Stars!

It’s been a while since I have read anything by Serena Bell, and Head Over Heels was a great re-introduction to her writing.

"Man up."

Best-friends-to-lovers is one of my favourite tropes and the author hit the pitch pretty well with Chase and Olivia’s story, add in the fact that he is a single father who is struggling through the complexities of unexpected sole custody, and a five year old’s grief and confusion at the loss of her mother, and he was a character I fell-in-like with really quickly.

I knew Chase was hot. I strongly suspected he could kiss a woman into stupidity. But what I wasn’t expecting was how good it would feel…

This is a couple that make no bones about the fact they are 'just friends' one date, three years previously, and they both agreed it wasn’t going to work because they were polar opposites. But as they say opposites attract, and when Chase is left in a bind in relation to last minute child care arrangements for the adorable Katie, Liv steps in to the breach to offer a temporary solution. Temporary because she is leaving Seattle for a new job in Denver in a couple of weeks’ time.

It didn’t occur to me that she’d leave Seattle… Even though I shouldn’t be surprised. She changes her hair, her clothes, her nannying jobs, and even her boyfriends all the time, so why not cities...?

So with two weeks counting down, and being stuck in close proximity with each other the good ole’ friends-with-benefits arrangement is agreed on. And as you would expect lots of sexy times ensue. But there is another story playing out around this, and it’s to do with the scars left behind by their upbringings. Childhoods that have massively shaped the adults they have become, and how it impacts their relationships with the opposite sex as a result of it.

I want Liv more than I’ve ever wanted anyone…

It’s not difficult to see where the conflict is going to derive from in this one, what with their backgrounds and the two week countdown, but with the dual POV and the quickly moving plot it wasn’t a struggle to read. My one gripe and it isn’t a new one is the use of 1st person POV, because it once again lowered the emotional impact level of the story for me.

"You crossed the line and you can’t go back, and you might as well enjoy it…"

I’m not saying the author didn’t do it well, but there are very few that manage to do it in such a way that I forget I am reading and just enjoy a story. I don’t want the characters talking to me, I want them talking to and thinking about each other, I don’t know it seems to have started to become the medium of choice for a lot of authors to write in now, but I still struggle to fully invest in a story when its being played out like I am the third wheel in the relationship.

Sill a decent read, I’m sure the previous books I have read by the author were written in 3rd person POV, but it’s been a while so I could be wrong. Either way I hope that it is a style she goes back to in future books.

ARC provided via Netgalley, after being requested by the author as Loveswept deem anyone other than US reviewers and bloggers illegible to provide a comprehensive review nowadays. It was however my pleasure to provide the above, (but less important or credible) lowly UK reviewer sum up in exchange!

This was a very cute story! I read it very quickly, and it kept me interested. I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is a classic setup for romance, but Serena Bell used her special touch in making it her own.

Chase and Liv met on a blind date years before, and immediately agreed that they can only be friends, and nothing more.

That worked well, and they had their quirky sulking parties after weird dates (with other people of course) and watched movies, together by alone.

When Chase's ex passed away and his daughter moved in with him permanently, and until he finds a nanny for Katie, Liv volunteers to help out. This worked well for her, as she's two weeks away from leaving to take a job in a different state and needs a place to stay that isn't her best friend's couch.

Getting along so swimmingly as friends, Chase and Liv couldn't be more different; Liv is very put together, always made up, dressed to impress and is lovely. Chase is working on himself to work towards his goals, of learning to believe in himself, for his daughter's future and for his own. He's potentially the next owner of a camping good store, feels the most like himself when he's out in nature, not showered for days, and is being the best dad he can be.

Then Liv moves in and they become more and more involved physically (because what's the harm in a little fun before she leaves,) and emotionally (because obviously). Both make the transition from best friends to a little family in a matter of days, so when it's time for Liv to actually pack up and go, emotions are so strong, both she and Chase are hiding how they really feel for one another.

Not to mention one brokenhearted little girl who's lost her mother and the next best thing in a matter of months.

Sure, things are more involved and complex, but you'll have to read it to get the entire picture.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the E-Arc copy of this novel.
Head Over Heels is a fun, sexy romp between two adults, who aren't quite sure what they really want. I thought the author created great chemistry between the two main characters. She had a sweet, yet sexy story that I read in one night. It isn't a literary masterpiece, but if you love romance and great banter between two hot characters well then you will love this book.

This book was delightful! Two great friends realize their attraction to each other. It's hot! And nobody does anything stupid or treats the other badly. A perfect romantic read.

Lots of sex. Did I mention the sex? Well written sex, at that! I found the hero and heroine extremely likable, with believable flaws and reasons for their actions. Enjoyed the camping scenes. Highly recommend.

I Don’t like single dads books and I guess I didn’t figure this one out. Sorry. My mistake. They do nothing for me. I think since the ex is usually still in their life and sometimes they are still in love with them. Even if dead.

This is an entertaining friends to lovers story. Chase and Olivia are good friends and don’t want to ruin their friendship by getting involved romantically with each other. They enjoy hanging out together and usually meet up after dates with other people to compare notes and complain.

Chase and Olivia first meet when they are set up on a blind date. They immediately realize they are all wrong for each other and become good friends instead. They are the exact opposite of each other and they know things could never work between them. Olivia is high maintenance. She loves art museums and chick flicks. Chase is low maintenance. He loves anything involving the outdoors and action flicks. They are each looking for someone who enjoys the same things they do.

Chase has a five year old daughter named Katie. Her mom has recently died and now she is living with Chase full time. Chase and Katie are having a difficult time adjusting to their new life together. He is trying to figure out being a full time dad to a little girl who just lost her mom. Katie is sweet but grieving. Chase needs a nanny and asks Olivia for help until he can find a permanent nanny.

They each have baggage from their past and are afraid to open their hearts. Once Olivia agrees to become Katie’s nanny, the dynamics slowly change between Chase and Olivia and they aren’t sure how to deal with it. I’m not sure why but I had a hard time connecting to the story.

Thank you to Netgalley for this advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very light, very predictable romance story. It moved quickly, but there wasn’t really much to the story. I still enjoyed it, but the author could have added much more plot to the novel.

I would recommend to anyone who was looking for a very quick, very light read.

This book was a sweet yet steamy friends to more story. Just because you know where the story will end up, doesn't make the trip any less entertaining. I really liked the characters and enjoyed the way the storyline developed. Definitely worth the read!

A cute story. Both of the characters were likeable. The development of their romantic relationship seemed a little off; Chase seemed a little rigid. It was ok

For some reason it feels like it took me forever to finish this book. It wasn't a bad book, nothing special really bothered me about it but nothing really held my attention either. I feel like the plot was not flowing. I skipped pages in between because I kept getting bored. I keep thinking that I was supposed to like and enjoy the main couple, except I didn't. I didn't hate or dislike them but I didn't like them either. They were simply 'meh'. I liked some of the ways they handled their relationship though. But I just couldn't connect with the characters at all, they seemed forced and shallow, and the book was boring and repetitive to me (too many sex scnese - and I don't say that often. I actually skipped a few of the sex scenes because they were just too many).
I was thinking to myself yesterday that what I like about romance is how a good author can take an expected outcome - falling in love, the happy ever after - and make the getting there feel fresh and inventive. And this didn't really do that for me. It felt pretty paint-by-the-numbers contemporary romance, to be honest. Perfectly serviceable, but nothing to get excited about.

A sweet friends to lovers story. I loved how obvious it was that the two main characters truly cared for each other and how deep their connection was.

The book is cute and definitely worth your time if you need a simple read to relax the mind. It follows two friends who grow to become more. Raunchy and Romantic. What Makes this special is that it shows each characters amazing traits that they value in each other rather than just being about the physical connection.

Head Over Heels is about a man and a woman who have achieved the impossible: they are friends. They went on one date and immediately realized they were wrong for each other in a relationship, but then the closest of friendships develops. They even have a ritual to 'celebrate' the bad dates they have with other people. And as friends do, Liv bails out Chase when he needs a short-term nanny after firing his previous nanny for hitting the booze instead of watching the his daughter. Liv moves in and needless to say, in true friends-to-lovers fashion, they soon start to develop feelings of a romantic nature for each other. There are solid scenes of sweet discoveries, friends revealing their vulnerabilities, and snarky humor between people who care for each other. Best of all, there is zero fake conflict to bring angst into the story (hooray!).

Head Over Heels has charm, two characters I loved, and Bell has a writing style that is truly enjoyable. This is one of those books that leaves you feeling cheerful. I wholeheartedly recommend it, and suspect that digging into Bell's prior releases will be a highly enjoyable experience.

I received a copy of HEAD OVER HEELS on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Five stars and here's why:

I love a good friends to lovers story and HEAD OVER HEELS delivers in spades. Chase and Live met on a disastrous blind date. So bad, that they bond and become best friends. The author does a great job of sucking you right into the story and soon you’re glued to the pages. A few years later, Chase needs a nanny for his little girl and Liv needs a job. Naturally, Liv moves in to help Chase out. They’ve got chemistry. They’ve got friendship. Before long, sparks fly and their friendship blossoms into something more. *fans herself8

If you love great writing and an entertaining love story then this book is for you. Highly recommend.

This is a very sweet romance that I would highly recommend reading. Liv is a woman that grew up in the foster system after her mom dies when she was 7. She learns from a young age that nothing is permanent & one foster sister tell her to only have stuff she can move easily. She takes that too heart & moves around a lot. She's currently in Seattle working as a nanny but leaving in a couple of weeks for a new marketing job in Denver.

Chase is also a commitment phobe but most of this stems from his parents not believing in him since he struggled as a child & his daughter's mom thinking he was too much of a deadbeat to be a good dad. Now she has passed away & he's a single dad raising his 5 year old daughter.

Chase & Liv are connected on a blind date but realize from the get go that they are too different to be good together. They do figure out they make great friends. When Chase has to fire his nanny, he looks to Liv to fill in for the couple of weeks before she heads out to Denver. She agrees because she loves Katie (Chase's daughter) & wants to make things easy for her. Then the sparks begin flying & they decide they can be friends with benefits, no strings attached. After all, she's leaving for Denver in a couple of weeks.

Read this fantastic story to find out if either of them can get over their hang-ups & become more than just friends. I couldn't put it down!
