I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love these sampler books because it gives me a chance to check out upcoming titles to decide what to add to my to-read list.

What a wonderful sampler! I read cozy mysteries, and there are so many included. I was very happy to see that. I know now from this sampler that there are several titles I really need to read!

Great books ahead! This publisher never disappoints. Are these available each season or in print? I would like to receive print copies if available.

This was the first preview I have ever seen from Crooked Lane, and I hope they do more. I found some mysteries that I had not seen mentioned anywhere else

An interesting way to discover new books and writers. Interesting.
Many thanks to Crooked Lane and Netgalley for the ARC

Wasn't keen on any of these – didn't realise cosy crime about crochet, furniture restoration, vegetable gardens etc. was such a huge genre. And the book about being Will and Kate's personal (American for some reason) chef made me feel quite ill.

I fell hard for excerpt books after the first one I read led me to 20 titles and new authors that I added to my TBR list. I have since read all 20 of those books that I might have otherwise missed and enjoyed every single one. Some book blurbs remind me of movie trailers where it seems all the best parts were shown and the rest of the movie just honestly wasn't that good. With an excerpt, the ability to read a chapter or two provides a much better 'first look' at the book and helps me make better choices for my TBR pile.
Crooked Lane Books Spring 2018 Digital Sampler solidified my love for this type of sampler book. These are mysteries that have publication dates ranging from March to July. There is a short summary as well as the publication date for each book in the Table of Contents. Right away you will know if the book is by a debut author, is part of a series or is a cozy or more traditional mystery. At the end of each excerpt, there are links to Edelweiss and NetGalley where you can see if the title is available to request to read and review. There are more than a few that I have added to my TBR list and I have already read and recommended The Girl from Blind River.
Thank you Crooked Lane Books and NetGalley for this complimentary book to read and review.

I hard a hard time with the sampler, felt disconnected from the books. I do not feel qualified to give a review on it

This preview volume is a great resource! Approximately 26 upcoming mystery novels are given a summary and preview. There is great variety including cozies, PIs and historical mysteries. I have added quite a few to my TBR pile including ones with protagonists like Florence Nightingale, Alice Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. I have read some of the cozies already and enjoyed them.
