This book will have readers flipping the pages to find out what happens next between Carson and Sadie. It’s that fantastic of a book. You never knew what was going to happen with those two, if they where going to combust with passion or fight it to the end especially Sadie. This is a fantastic second chance Love story that this author has written beautifully and it really does pull you right into the story from the very first chapter and you will find it impossible to put down. I would definitely recommend this book to all book lovers out there

I really enjoyed this one. I thought Carson and Sadie were great together. They were high school sweethearts and neither has ever forgotten the other or gotten over what they lost. Now they have been reunited to work together to clean up the reputation of the Alabama Warriors and it's players. Carson being the captain of the team has a lot to lose if he can't make this happen. Sadie is just determined to get the job done and get out of there. Carson's all for the getting the job done part but losing Sadie again - not going to happen! Let the games begin!

This is a new author for me and one I will definitely be reading more of. I highly recommend this book.

I really liked this story, it was well written and the main characters Carson and Sadie had a really good chemistry going. Sadie is called upon to help give the Team a makeover, and she so happens to be the Team captain, Carson's ex high school sweetheart, and now the fun begins.

I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion

I loved the idea of this book (that synopsis definitely sucked me in) but unfortunately, the execution falls a little short. A good second chance romance is hard to do and while this one had all the right roots, they just never took off in the right way.

For me, this story lacked the plot and character depth I crave my from second chance romances. When it comes to second chance romances I really need to see the proof of why these two need to reunite despite everything that has torn them apart. And while these two had great physical chemistry, I wasn't sold on the emotional connection between them.

Any development in this story, whether it be character, romantic or drama, was cut short in order to watch these two spontaneously make love on whatever surface is near by. We'd finally see them start to work out their differences and problems of the past and we could lose all that progress. I'm not saying the physical aspects aren't important in their relationship--I just needed more than that to see why these two haven't been able to move on in 7 years with other people.

Even the dramatic plot, which often felt repetitive, would get little screen time in order to watch these two explore their obvious physical connection and chemistry. Add to the fact that everything fell into place a little too easily for my tastes. And because we lacked this much needed development in all fronts, I never connected to the characters like I wanted to nor did I love their romance together either as a result because I never really saw them get tested and grow.

This book was just "meh" to me. Those who like second chance sports stories that stay par for the course will likely enjoy this but for more seasoned readers who want more surprises and deeper characters will need to look elsewhere.

"Everything happened for a reason. Touchdowns and interceptions. Wins and losses. And second chances."

This was my first Kara Sheridan read. I confess, it was the cover and title that caught my attention. While I admit to struggling through the first half of the book, the last half pulled me in and ended with a touchdown.

With a title like Ball Buster I expected Sadie to be badass. And I guess she is to an extent. She has kicked ass and taken names in her chosen career, but not in her personal life. That part of herself is closed off, pining for the man that she left back in high school, not that she would admit to that. Her besties know the scoop though and point out that all the men she's dated in the last seven years bear a striking resemblance to her high school sweetheart.

Carson Savage is a hometown hero in Alabama. He can do no wrong with his friends, family, and fans. But the Alabama Warriors management don't feel the same way. Nope, they seem to think that having his fine, tattooed, and easily identifiable ass plastered over the internet and social media is a negative. That's not how they want their players to shine, they'd rather that happen on the field, not in the lockerroom shower. So, he gets called into the office and is informed that they've hired someone to help the team establish a more positive image and he needs to get on board, or he might end up off the team.

Honestly, it was the anticipation of that first meeting between the high school sweethearts that kept me turning the pages. I was expecting fireworks. I thought Sadie would have a fiery temper to match her red hair. And...I was very curious about what caused the couple to split up in the first place, anticipating a big secret and guessing what it might be. I kinda set myself up...

I'm giving Ball Buster 3.5 stars. I really enjoyed the support characters, almost more than the main characters. As this is The Playbook series, I'm sure they will get their turn to 'shine'. Hopefully, it will be in an interesting way, whether NFL approved or not. I kinda have a sneaky suspicion that Ty, the manwhore, is in even more danger of having some of his body parts leaked to the media.

The characters in this book left me underwhelmed. I never took a liking to either lead character. I didn't feel any chemistry. I hate bullying and just made me not want them to get together.

Sadie and Carson were high school sweethearts with dreams of him being a NFL player and her following him wherever he was playing. This didn't work for Sadie so she went her own way. Carson and his team of bad boy football players need some help to clean up their reputations or lose their contracts. Sadie works at a firm where she does this. Back in Alabama where she grew up and never wanted to come back to, she comes to work with the Alabama Warriors. Sparks are still there between them and they flare up hot and sexy. Will the sparks flame up and die or burn brightly? Can she save their images before they get cut from the team? Everyone wants a HEA, will they get it? This book was great and I enjoyed it immensely. I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review.

Finally!!! A high school sweetheart story that isn't all about the drama. Don't get me wrong, there's some issues that need to be addressed. But nothing like someone cheating or anything like that. This was honestly a nice refreshing read.

Sadie was the high school quarterbacks girlfriend. You know. The girl who was supposed to follow him to college, marry and raise the perfect family in the small town. But that wasn't her vision. Nope. So what did she do? She broke up with the boyfriend and ran. But running didn't do anything. In fact, she's spent the last several years trying to replace what she once had in high school without luck. And now that her boss is sending her to her hometown state of Alabama, she's finding out that the past is very much present. In every way possible.

Carson was the high school quarterback who literally had everything. The looks, the football career and the girl. That is until the girl he loved broke his heart. He's now the quarterback of an Alabama NFL team, but still can't seem to get over his girl. To make things worse, the team has hired a social media guru to fix some issues within, and the person hired is non other than...yep, his girl. He's got another chance to make things right. At least, he hopes he does.

I thought that this was a cute "reconnect" story. These two obviously never got over each other. Carson needed to "grow up" a little bit and Sadie needed to deal with some of her issues before they were truly ready for each other. Which is why the timing is perfect.

I really liked how we got to meet and fall for some of the other players on the team. I especially liked the relationship Carson had with his bestie, Ty. (Total BRO moment in the book). Sadie's friends are a hoot. Hoping to hear more from Barbie. Love her spirit.

All in all...awesome start to a series!!!

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review while giving my honest opinion. Let's be honest here the cover caught my eye, and the title...let's just say the blurb cinched it. I had to read it.

My short review version, I loved it!

The long version....

Sadie May Reynolds a.k.a Kitty Kat, personably named by Carson Savage after he rescues Sadie after she got stuck in a tree trying to save a cat. Well the rest is history.... if it's meant to be then love will circle round. After high school and years of being on footballer Carson Savages arm Sadie realizes that she needs her dreams too. Unfortunately Carson doesn't see it, and thinks Sadie will give up her dreams of an Ivy League school to be in his life. She disappoints him and the town she grew up in, even receives death threats.
Carson Savage is a baller on the team Alabama Warriors, and after an ass pic is seen on social media the owners are cleaning house. Shape up your image or get out. They bring in Sadie as a PR specialist to help clean up the teams image. Carson see's this opportunity to finally talk to Sadie about what went down and try to get a second chance.

This book was especially great because this baller had honorable intentions towards Sadie....even in high school. Cleaned out a lot of that revenge drama we normally see. His only problem was not realizing she had dreams as well. Not everyone gets second chances and Carson doesn't pull any punches about his second chance with Sadie. I thought the book was lovely, and it had me smiling in parts. I read it in one sitting and I would definitely read more by this author. I give it four stars for entertainment. Great book Netgalley!

Unfortunately, I was not able to connect with this story. The writing is good, but I did not particularly care for the heroine who I had hoped would grow on me throughout the story, but never actually did.

The storyline had promise, and I completely ADORE football romance, but ultimately I just found myself not invested in the chemistry or outcome of this story. DNF at 30%.

Unfortunately, while the title and the blurb was catchy, Ball Buster was unfortunately a DNF for me. It did not resonate and I found myself struggling to connect with the characters and the storyline overall. Sadie and Carson's obvious chemistry was evident but I found their characters lacking the depth I usually look for in my books.

I would like to thank NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity and am confident that this book will be a better fit for someone else. 2 stars ~Ratula

Carson Savage pro-football player who never quite got over his first love. His high school sweetheart who broke his heart 7 years ago. He made a promise to himself that if he ever got the chance to rekindle what they once had he would never let her go.

Sadie Reynolds all grown up and working at one of the best marketing firms. Offered the job that can make her career; the only downside about it is that it will take her back to her roots.Back to the one love she ever had; the one she ran away from years ago, her high school boyfriend. Carson Savage.

Sadie is hired head a campaign to reimage the social sites of some of the top player for the Alabama Warriors. Thrown together to finally face each other after so many years feeling reignite, their past comes to lite and they must find a way to overcome them and more.

WIll their love conquer all or will Sadie’s lack of self confidence send her running away from Carson yet again?

This is a great story of love and second chances… I would definitely recommend this to others!

Carson and Sadie come from a small town in Alabama where football means everything. High School sweathearts, Carson thought he had it all the college scholarship and the girl of his dreams. Sadie loved Carson but wanted more than to just be that small town wife. She wanted her own independence and the boy she loved. Leaving Carson was the hardest thing she ever did. Now Sadia has the dream job and is having to return home for the first time since losing Carson. Will she be able to handle seeing him and knowing he isn't hers? I enjoyed reading this book. It was a 3.5 star read for me. I liked the storyline and how much Carson loved Sadie. I was shocked by how horrible the town was to her and that Carson had no clue the way they treated her after their breakup. Her friends were great side characters and gave the story some funny moments. I would recommend this book to my girlfriends to read. It was a nice light romance something to enjoy and take your mind off of things for the day.

It's hard to enjoy a book when you dislike a main character. Unfortunately that was the case here. I couldn't stand Sadie, and didn't enjoy the book because of that. She was so selfish, whiney, and hypocritical that I detested her almost immediately. I had lost interest by 30% and skimmed most of the rest.

This is some cover, huh? Pink is my favorite color, so the pink text sold me on this book. That's where this book got its first star.

All my self-help books (they're my guilty pleasure, don't tell anyone) say I should start this off with a positive. After reading this book, I want to tell them all to go fuck themselves. Perhaps I should review those because they obviously aren't working.

With all the tropes in the world we still ended up with the outdated one that says "she's just playing hard to get, isn't it cute."

My day job is as a Social Worker, so books that remind me of the situations I help people through tend to get me all prickled.

The first third of the book is her asking him to respect her personal space, to respect her boundaries, not to call her kitty cat and him saying I know you like it.

Frankly, this entire trope romanticizes a huge issue in our society. It does a disservice to anyone who struggles to assert themselves, anyone who had their boundaries pushed, anyone who has felt like they had to accept bad behavior.

The second third is her trampling all over his boundaries - because it will be good for her career.
I couldn't buy into the relationship, neither party seemed to respect the other. With that said, I could call it realistic. There are a lot of unhealthy relationships in the world. I don't think either character set out to behave badly, they likely just didn't know better.

The writing was engaging; I enjoyed getting to know the football team. I liked Carson, he would be a great book-acquaintance, but not my ideal choice for a book-boyfriend. Sadie was super unlikable. She was whiny and her default response to everything was to run away.

I was prepared to give this book 3 stars because I understand it was my issues that kept me from enjoying this one. Then I got to the ending.

Seriously, had it stopped at the end of chapter 29, I would have been more than happy to leave it at 3 stars and forget this whole thing never happened.

But, I couldn't be so lucky. There is one ending I passionately hate. I screen for it. I ask about it in my review policy and when I request a book I screen through the early reviews to see if there is any mention of it. So imagine my surprise...

Overall, Ball Buster was everything I try to avoid in a book. I have to say that's an impressive feat. I didn't enjoy it and I think it's safe to say this wasn't a good fit for me. However, I'm sure many people will enjoy the flirting and uhm surprise at the end.

There's a great story in this book - it's just not quite on the page. Instead, we get a few things mashed together and it doesn't give the protagonists room to breathe, especially our heroine. Her inner journey, which is crucial to the progression of this story, remains mysterious and haphazard to readers and we're never sure why she's changing her mind so significantly.

This is my first book by this author and I liked enough elements to check out future works - hopefully there will be a more focused narrative next time, because this football team sounds like too much fun to not check back in with.

Ex-es who never got over each other are thrown together years later. I liked this story. It was straightforward, not lots of drama, which was nice! Carson has grown up into a man who is able to appreciate Sadie for the woman she is, rather than still expecting her to simply follow him, which is what caused their high school breakup. The characters were well written, and I actually liked them, secondary characters as well. It was a quick read, but cute and enjoyable.

Ball Buster is a second chance football player romance that's heartwarming from the start! I read this book in two sittings and found myself smiling into my Kindle most of the time. There's a bit of drama, some steam, and a lot of Sadie and Carson figuring out how to find each other again without losing themselves. It's refreshingly low on drawn-out will-they-won't-they angst, focusing instead on rebuilding their relationship and creating a world of secondary characters that I'm looking forward to learning more about in future books.

This is my first book by this author and it's the first book in this series. It's about football player Carson Savage and Sadie Reynolds. They were high school sweethearts and haven't seen each other in years. Carson's football team has now hired the PR firm that Sadie works for to makeover the teams image, throwing them together again. The both are still attracted to each other but can they work out their differences in order for them to work?

There were parts of this book that I really liked. And there were parts that were kinda slow for me. On a whole it was a decent read it just didn't hit me the way I had hoped. I really liked how Sadie and Carson connect and how they act together. I like how they work through everything and figure out exactly what really matters in the end. But like I said it was just kinda slow for me. Now with that being said, I think I will still read the other books in the series because there is definitely the potential for a great series here.

After some suggestive photos hit the internet Carson Savage and his teammates find themselves in hot water with their coach and the teams owner, they have just helped their team earned themselves the worst reputation in the league. This of course doesn't sit well with the owner so he devises a plan to help them clean up their acts, hires a social media guru, and issues a warning, they either accept the changes or they will find themselves without a job. And the moment this new social media guru wanders into the room Carson's world comes to a screeching halt... standing before him is the woman who broke his heart into a million pieces and left town and never looked back. While the sting is still there, Carson also has to admit there are a lot of sparks still there too... and he plans to explore every single one of them!

The moment her phone rings and Sadie sees that her boss is calling she knows it must be serious, so she cuts her vacation activities short and answers her phone, he has a new job for her, but the moment she hears what it is she is ready to quit. Because this new job will force her to face a past that she has no interest in taking a second look at, the Alabama Warriors have just earned themselves the worst reputation in the NFL, and their owner wants her to come in and clean house. She knows the moments she arrives in Alabama she is going to run into the man who still holds a huge piece of her heart, but they didn't leave things on the best of terms, and she is certain they won't ever be able to get back what they once had, so it's best to avoid him. But doing so will mean that she won't have a job anymore, so she bites her tongue, and heads to the one place she never intended to see again!

Ball Buster is a sweet and sexy love story, with a southern twist, that is sure to win the hearts of romance readers!! This first installment in the Playbook series has me really excited to see what is to come in the future installments, I love sports romance stories, and this one scored serious points with me! It had the swoon-worthy football star, a steamy and heartfelt reunion, and a feisty heroine that I couldn't help but admire! I highly recommend you pick this one up, Carson is sure to melt your heart and your tablet screen!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed.
