Great summer read full of funny dialogue and likable characters. This book can be read alone without having read The Devil Wears Prada and other Weisberger prequels.

“Lululemons” picks up where “Prada” left off. Emily has left Runway magazine, moved to Los Angeles and become a more acidic version of herself: chain-smoking, depressed and dissatisfied with her career as a celebrity stylist and image consultant. She knows the Kardashians, Clooneys and Hadids, but when the novel opens at a New Year’s Eve pool party, she’s at her lowest point. She’s also vaguely uneasy about her feckless husband, Miles, who’s standing in an infinity pool with a topless girl on his shoulders. Emily gets a phone call summoning her to New York on a publicity emergency for a rapper named Rizzo, and she seizes the chance to go, thinking, “New York, her first and truest love, awaited.”

This book had its funny moments and I enjoyed the growing friendship between Lina, Miriam and Emily, with that said the whole novel just felt like a caricature.

I love that this book took place in the universe of the Devil wears Prada ( although you can easily read this book as a stand alone story). This book is perfect for summer reading at the beach or cottage. I expected a fun light reading and I was not disappointed. This book tells the story of Miranda's former assistance Emily and also introduces us to Karolina and Miriam. I loved all 3 characters and it was refreshing to have a chick-lit type book that created characters that weren't simply stereotypes and also were very likeable and relatable. The setting of Connecticut was also fun. This is the perfect book for people who want nice summer read. I would like to thank NEtgalley for the ARC. I would definitely give this book 4.5 stars out of 5.

Have you ever finished a string of dark and emotional reads and felt like a book that is lighter - one that will make you laugh rather than cry? When Life Gives You Lululemons is the PERFECT book in this instance! This was a delightful read and just what I needed. And although it is from the series The Devil Wears Prada, it is stand alone so doesn't require familiarity with the other plots and characters.

The book has a lot of girl power and is somewhat satirical about the whole stepford wife scenario in Greenwich, a suburb of New York. I loved it! The story alternates perspectives between three women: Emily, Miriam and Karolina. Emily is a badass no nonsense gal who cleans up tarnished reputations among the stars and A celebs. Miriam is a Harvard educated lawyer turned stay-at-home wife who is trying to fit in with the other glamor mamas while instilling good values in her 3 young children. Karolina is a former supermodel married to a Senator with big dreams to one day become the president of the US. She is rich and sexy and although unable to conceive children of her own, is full on mama to her stepson whom she has practically raised on her own. When Karolina is stopped by police while driving her son and his friends and charged with a DUI, things start to go downhill for her. Secrets emerge and her friend Miriam comes to her aide bringing along Emily for support. The hilarious adventures of these three women touched my heart and made me smile.

Absolutely recommend if you're in the mood for a hearty dose of chick lit and an evening full of giggles.

4.5 stars!

This was the perfect summer book. It was equal parts dishy/juicy and glamorous, and heartfelt and moving.

Emily Charlton is back and is taking on her biggest PR case yet by helping a friend of a friend who finds herself in serious trouble. Along the way we are introduced to Miriam and Karolina who become the other two heroines in this novel, and together the three friends must work to take down a scheming Senator husband with his eye on the Oval... no matter the cost to those around him.

I LOVED this book and absolutely could not put it down. It holds up next to the other books in the series, but holds its own as a standalone, and is the perfect book to devour in one sitting on a sunny summer afternoon. The devil herself might even make an appearance...

This was my first book by Lauren Weisberger and I enjoyed every minute of reading! I laughed and I cursed with Emily, Miriam and Karolina, like a was their friend. I loved how the story is told from their different perspectives. I have the two first books of the series somewhere in my house, and I need to find them, I don’t want to leave these characters for too long, I loved them too much!

Thanks to the publisher for my early e-copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book- I’ve missed the world of Miranda Priestly and Emily’s dry humour. It was interesting to get more back story on Emily, and see what she has been doing since her Runway days. Another great read from this series!

3 stars

Overall, I found this to be an enjoyable little romp in chick-lit land. There were times when I found Emily to be a little over-the-top, but that's part of who she is. (I had to remind myself of that a few times in order to avoid getting too annoyed by her.) Other times, Emily said exactly what we were all thinking, which I found refreshing. Now that I'm reflecting on it, how many people in your life *never* say things that annoy you from time to time? My guess is most of them--they are human and we allow them to have faults without making them villains. The same is true here. In the end, I applauded Emily, who didn't always say the right thing and who didn't always get it exactly right, but she also had her share of spot-on insights and witty remarks.

The same could be said of Karolina and Miriam. They, too, had their shining moments and their faults which made a crazy storyline a little more relevant.

I wasn't crazy on the previous book in the series. I remember being overly annoyed with Andy (and probably hating Emily) but this one allowed the characters to show a little more maturity and I appreciated it more. It's still not one that had me rushing back to see how it finished, but while I was with it, I enjoyed myself.

Who doesn't love "The Devil Wears Prada"? I was so excited when I heard there was going to be a second book. When "Revenge Wears Prada" it was such a disappointment. I was VERY apprehensive when I heard about a third novel. However, I was pleasantly surprised with "When Life Gives You LuluLemons." I was drawn in from the beginning. As much as I disliked Emily in the first book, I loved her in this third instalment. I really enjoyed getting to know Karolina and Miriam and how their lives intertwine.

I've recommended this to all my friends who love a good chick-lit/beach read and will continue to recommend it as one of my favourite books of the Spring/Summer.

Thank you to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Canada for an ebook ARC of When Life Gives You LuluLemons in exchange for an honest review.

Since Lululemon is one of my favourite brands, the title of this book totally grabbed my eye. This is chick-lit at it's finest. This book is told in third person from the point of views of three women, Emily, Miriam and Karolina. Emily works as a celebrity image consultant and is fired even before she can start a job in New York so she travels out to the suburbs to visit her friend, Miriam. In Greenwich, CT the juiciest scandal of the year falls right into her lap. Karolina, a senator's wife who has been wrongly accused of a DUI. Before moving to the suburbs Miriam was a high profile lawyer so with her legal skills and Emily's crisis management skills, the girls make a great team to handle the situation. The was a gloriously fun read and I predict it will be a huge summer hit! It was so refreshing to have three main characters that were so likeable. 5 big stars!
Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of this novel.

When Life Gives You Lululemons is the latest Devil Wears Prada novel and features Emily Charlton. It was a funny, light and very quick feeling book, I really enjoyed it - it was the perfect book to read on the way to a girls’ trip! Motherhood, suburbia and CT - the subject matter was right up my alley and Emily’s character gave just the right amount of bite. Super fun read, I’d definitely recommend it if you are looking for a summer read!

Thanks to @Netgalley and @simonandschuster for the advance reader’s copy!

Because I enjoyed Devil Wears Prada and the Emily character so much, I was looking forward to reading of her further life adventures. This book does not disappoint. Ms Weisberer’s signature wit and caustic writing style remain strongly in evidence. I found myself giggling more than once while reading. If you are a fan of this author’s writing style, you will certainly enjoy this book. Recommended.

My thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley and Simon and Schuster for a copy of When Life Gives You Lululemons in exchange of an honest review. I have a feeling I’ll be seeing this book everywhere this summer. It’s light and feminine. The beginning was a little slow for me, it took about until 35% of the book for something that was obvious from the beginning to be announced. But the rest was lovely.

This book is the perfect summer beach read. For me it is one of those guilty pleasure books. I don't read this type of book very often. I don't think I read The Devil Wears Prada, but I did see the movie a few years ago. I don't think I lost anything by not reading it.

It features over the top fabulous rich people who show that life is never as perfect or as easy as it seems. I really enjoyed this book and would certainly read more written by Lauren Weisberger.

If you liked Emily in The Devil Wears Prada you'll enjoy this book! While she seems to have become a bit more likeable, that bitchy girl who knows how to get things done still lives as a "fixer". The introduction of two new characters (Miriam and Karolina) was a welcome one. All three women are very different from one another, but I enjoyed their friendship and felt that they were really flushed-out characters, even if we only met two of them in this book.
This is a very different book from The Devil Wears Prada -- it doesn't really focus on the fashion industry, but it does open up a world of suburban rich families. It's definitely worth your time!

Thank you to Simon & Schuster Canada and NetGalley for the free copy of this book - all opinions are my own.

This book is literally the PERFECT SUMMER READ. It is an absolute delight, and pairs perfectly with a patio and a fruity, cold glass of wine (or vodka soda if you want to be like Emily).

The story picks back up with Emily working as a celebrity crisis manager - and stuck out in the suburbs, which is her own personal version of hell. She is visiting her old friend Miriam, who is working hard at acclimatizing to the suburban mom life, when THE celebrity crisis of the month falls directly in her lap in the form of Karolina Hartwell - the wife of a local senator who has been accused of driving drunk with children in her vehicle - a charge she vehemently denies. Emily finds herself wading in the newest territory yet - suburban marriage drama.

Emily is just as delightfully sarcastic and blunt as she ever was, making this the most satisfying sequel for a character I adore. Plus, Miranda makes an appearance (or two).

This book is such a magnificent look at female friendships and how those bonds are the ones that endure through all that life throws at you.

Which is all to say, definitely go get a copy of this book, your summer won't be complete without it.

Thanks to NetGalley and Simon &Schuster for an advance copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I have just realized that books focusing on high powered, wealthy professional women are not for me.
I find the frequent mention of brand names, designer fashions, plastic surgery , desired weight loss and catty remarks something I cannot connect with. I was unable to relate to the women as I have never known anyone like those in the story, and have not even fantasized about living that type of lifestyle. I did not finish.
That being said it is light entertainment and a quick easy read, and I predict a lot of readers will enjoy it. I regret I was not able to get into it.

When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger is a book that is worthy of your summer beach bag this year. This third instalment in The Devil Wears Prada series will have you laughing out loud. The characters are charming and interesting in this story that is all about sisterhood.

Admittedly, I have not read the other books in the series, but I have always heard such wonderful things. This novel is one that can be read without any prior knowledge of the characters or the other stories. There are so many funny situations that these women find themselves in that it makes for a very light and fluffy read. It has a Desperate Housewives feel to it, as the three women navigate getting older and still feel as though they are relevant in society.

I found that it was easy to figure out Emily’s character right from the beginning, as she is such a sarcastic and quick-witted woman. She is so interesting, however, Emily is feeling as though she is passé. Also, it doesn’t help that she is being phased out by another up and coming celebrity assistant. Emily is just so head-strong. You can tell right away she will create a plan for herself to stay on top. Her approach is just so hilarious and I loved reading her point of view.

Told from the perspectives of Emily, Miriam, and Karolina, the readers get a real sense of all the sides of the story. These women support one another throughout the course of the novel, which is really uplifting. It is a wonderful change to read about women who are empowering and supportive.

When Life Gives You Lululemons will definitely satisfy fans of Weisberger and her The Devil Wears Prada series. There is no shortage of humour and wonderfully strong female characters in this book. I am definitely excited to read the rest of the series now.
