It was pretty good but not my favorite thing in the world. I felt that romance was a bit rushed especially when they trying to put the pieces back to together from the main character just leaving. I really wished that there was more of her friend, I loved her so much.

a couple who married too young, had misunderstandings, and fell apart. reunited after a funeral, and bound by an inheritance and marriage, the love is still there under a lot of layers. can they find trust, forgive the past, and find a way back to each other? a music career on the line, and a legal mess, so much to overcome, but love might be enough to help this couple find their way back home.

passionate read I recommend!

Punk Rock Cowgirl is one of those books that sneaks up on you. At least that’s what it did to me. I felt just a little ambivalent about this story for the first chapter or so but then a funny thing happened and I found myself invested in the outcome. This is very much a second chance at love story as estranged husband and wife Damien and Kendall rediscover the reasons why they are right for each other. Their story is sexy and angsty and messy at times but as these two rediscover their relationship it makes for more and more compelling reading. I really enjoyed it.

This second chance love story was for me a very emotional read. Kendall and Damien's couldn't be more different, she motherless child, he son from one of the richest family but love happens and they marry young. But Kendall tender heart and self-confidence as a young woman are not strong and she let others persuade her that she will never be good enough for Damien and she let him go. After a few years, they meet again, and although Damien very bitter and Kendall embarrassed and trying to find a solution to her problems the passion and the feelings between them had never really died. In a way very sad story Kendall had not been given great cards in life the only happiness she had was when she was with Damien. Damien had also grown up in a bitter young man but a successful young man. It was great to see how did Kendall come to recognize that she can be happy and this time she is prepared to fight for it.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly

This book was a perfect length--long enough to invest in the characters but short enough to breeze through. I've read a few second-chance romances but this one was fresh and heartfelt enough to keep my interest. The grittiness and antipathy between the protagonists at the beginning was pretty strong, and it took a while for the h to forgive herself and to be forgiven by the H, but that made it all the more realistic and the ending much sweeter. The H in particular was very likable once he had come around-especially his devotion selflessness towards the h, whether she wanted to stay with him or not.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a steamy contemporary second chance romance, and especially for fans of Adriana Anders and Lauren Dane's contemporaries.

A very good story about taking chances in love and hoping that something wonderful will happen.
This book is entertaining and I was hooked since the beginning.

Not a bad start to a new series. Damien and Kendall were young and in love until she left without a word and followed a career she wasn't sure she even wanted. Now she has to return to her hometown for her grandmother's funeral and face her past. Damien is still angry and wants to know why. Kendall is a vulnerable girl who has been taken advantage of by others. Damien begins to care again even if he doesn't want to, because he is a good man. Kendall finally begins to mature and not be exploited anymore while reconnecting with the man she has always loved. I thought this was a sweet little small town romance and second chance story.

Kendall got he news that she needs to come "home", it the last place she wants to be it hold a ton of memories she would rather leave in the past. But it seems this is the only options she may have as her life seems to be falling apart around her. Damian has spent the last four years angry and bitter. When his "ex" comes back into town he needs to something set a few things straight and then get on with his life. Can they come to a meeting of the minds or will it all be to late?
When this book first started I found Kendall this strong, independent strong willed women who would take no prisoners and I loved that. I however was not a huge fan of the book over all. I felt a lot of anger and hate in this book instead of what I thought was a love story of healing. This book seemed to drag a little. There is a lot of strong language and adult scenes through out, I have to say I don't think the story needed so much of the strong language I felt like it was a turn off. Over all this book was just not for me. I did really love Kendall and loved how no matter what knocked her down she got back up and fought harder and didn't let anything stop her.

Punk Rock Cowgirl by Kasey Lane
Didn't think I was going to like this because I myself are not into punk rock but I did enjoy it, woohoo another new author for me to read.
Starts out with Kendall and she's returned to her grandmother's town where she was raised. She is now gone and she's there for the funeral and her husband, Damian shows up to comfort her.
She gets a rude awakening as the will is read. She had no idea. She assumed she'd walk back into town, get someone to sell her grandmothers house and she'd be on her way back to the city and performing her rock hits.
This is anything far from that. What I really liked was not only the compassion from her husband but hearing of how she was brought up by her grandmother and all the memories living on the farm.
Like the ideas Damian has for that and how he takes care of her also. Lots of hidden secrets that come out over time. What rotten luck to have been pushed away to begin with-you wonder if they can truly get back together or they will get divorced. Did not like swearing, just seemed to not fit.
Liked the locale and love the ending-wraps it all up!
Can't wait to read more from this author.

This is a new to me author and the story created is sweet.

Kendall has come back home after the death of her last family member to be at the funeral, but it is not a place she wants to stay.

Damian is a man who has been hurt and betrayed by those he loves. Kendall coming back is a good and a bad thing.

A series of events gets both sides taking again and admitting to having never loved another since. The story will wrap you up and give you a feel good feeling and can be read as a stand alone.

I loved this one! This is good old fashioned romance, with an alpha cowboy hero and a heroine who is figuring out her own crap but taking none of it from others. Kendall Kelly has crashed and burned as a crossover country music star. When her witch of a grandmother dies, Kendall goes home to Blackberry Cove for the funeral. The last person she wants to deal with is her husband, Damian Sloane. Kendall took off without a word a few years ago, but they aren't divorced yet and Damian isn't letting go that easily. When I do the math, I realize how young these characters must be. There is undeniable heat between the two of them. They've each grown a lot during their time apart, but they have to figure out whether and how to each other, as well as their own selves Only then can Kendall and Damian figure out whether they are going forward together or separately. Friends and family are introduced, building the world of Blackberry Cove with plenty of characters to both love and hate. The HEA is just right, with a nice little bonus epilogue. I'm excited for the rest of the series and recommend this to all romance fans.

Punk Rock Cowgirl was such a delightful read. Just one of those books that you were so glad that you picked up. I read this on in one sitting. It´s always nice with a romance story where you give love another chance. It had depth and feeling and a lot of hot romance. Just loved it.

As I understand, this is a debut novel so of course you can't expect a totally smooth ride.
Yet this story had one major issue and that"s the heroine. I couldn't like her, it's as simple as that.
I never really could understand her reasons for leaving her husband. She appeared shallow and childish and very unlikable. How her husband managed to deal with her return is a mystery.
Nope, the story (not the author's style) was my problem, hence the low rating.

I loved this book. I received it free from Netgallery in exchange for an honest review. This is the very angst filled love story between Damian Slone and Kendall Kelly. We learn they are married and she walked out on him 4 years earlier after unpleasant confrontations with his dad and her grandma. She became a country star in LA and only returned for her grandma’s funeral. He remained and took over her granddma’s farm, adding additional income sources. The will left the farm to the, jointly, causing additional decisions to be made.

I enjoyed the interactions between the couple as well as with her best friend and his mother. I wasn’t sure how things would end but I did love the ending. It I’d definitely a 5 star plus novel.

Kendall Kelly left Blackberry Cove and her husband and became famous for her songs. Now that her grandmother is gone, she's back. Can the runaway wife face her bitter husband? Kendall had so many secrets and insecurities. I was sympathetic to her plight. She did what she thought was right and it broke her. The shock of seeing her husband again was difficult. Their chemistry was as powerful as ever, but their separation had driven a wedge between them. Damian Sloane is angry and wants revenge. He loved his wife with every fiber of his being then she ran away. I understood his feelings of betrayal. I wanted Kendall to tell him the truth. Nothing will change unless they work together. I enjoyed Punk Rock Cowgirl and the writing of Kasey Lane. Her characters were larger than life and the story was emotional journey to redemption.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

I enjoyed reading Punk Rock Cowgirl by Kasey Lane, book one in her Blackberry Cove Cowboys series. Kendall Kelly returns home to Blackberry Cove to bury her grandmother, a mean-spirited woman who was forced to raise Kendall but not love her. This occurs at the same time Kendall’s career as a singer implodes with the thief of all her money by her manager and her record label dropping her while requesting their money advance for her next album be returned. Blackberry Cove is also where she abandoned her secret husband years ago without so much as a note. She’s hoping to pick up the pieces of her shattered life and finally cut the last tie to the only man she ever loved.

As part owner of Kelly Family Farms, Damian Sloan has spent the last few years rebuilding the floundering business into a growing organic farm. He thought he'd moved on from his broken heart after she left him. However, when Kendall reappears in his life, he realizes he hasn’t forgotten or forgiven her. Though Kendall threatens everything he’s built, he can’t quite turn her away.

These two need to come to an understanding and re-discover each other. Damian and Kendall need to put aside their differences and the past in order for the farm they both love and depend on to succeed. Maybe they can rebuild what they tragically lost, but first they both need to let the other know their true feelings and Kendall has to admit the truth about what happened that night, long ago.
I enjoyed reading this book and didn’t want to put this book down, reading it in one day. Ms. Lane wrote a wonderful story, drawing me in, making me forget the world around me. I definitely recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Punk Rock Cowgirl is the first book in a new series. It is a second chance romance with lots of steamy scenes. Kasey Lane is a new author for me. I look forward to reading more of her books and more of this series.

I very much enjoyed this sweet second chance romance between Kendall and Damian - definitely a lot for the two of them to overcome and Kendall had built up some huge walls that took a lot to knock down. Kendall's sense of worthlessness was so sad. I wished the book had been longer to delve deeper into these issues - her grandmother, her sister, Damian's parents ... hoping we get more back story in later books in this series. I love that sort of despite himself Damian is a hipster goat farmer.

A great start to a new series of Blackberry Cove Cowboys. This book pulled me from the first page and finished in one day. A great story line of second chance romance between Kendall and Damian. A marriage that Kendall left years ago to make it big in the music industry now has returned to Blackberry Cove after her grandma passes away. Now she has a re-connection with the love of her life, her husband. Some tough decisions need to be made and secrets come out.

Great sexual chemistry between Damian and Kendall, steamy!! Loved the characters, well developed and pulled me right in. This is the first book of this author for me and enjoyed her writing. I highly recommend.
