While I love Aidan & Phoebe together and how he completely embraced his son, I did have just a teeny issue with how easily Aidan accepts how Lee's existence was kept from him.  Yes, they were young when everything went wrong but he wasn't necessarily wrong with how he left town.  Things were seriously bad for him & his dad and I really have no problem with them packing up and leaving without looking back.  But really someone should have really let him know about his son before this.

Sala's down-home writing is always a treat to read and everything else made up for any issues I had with how quickly Aidan got over his hurt.  Once the two of them reconnect all of their past feelings come back and deepen even more.  It's sweet and heartwarming and, as always with Sala, a feel-good read that made me happy every page until the end.

If you love quirky small-town characters, a touching romance, and emotions galore, Sala is your girl!

This was a fantastic story of a love that survived tragedy, lies, and two decades apart. Phoebe and Aidan were high school sweethearts that had their world ripped apart on one tragic night. Phoebe's father died in a fire that started in the auto parts store owned by Aidan's father. Rumors started claiming Aidan's father intentionally started the fire. Although he was quick proven innocent the small town of Blessing, GA was no longer a place Aidan's family felt comfortable. They left town leaving behind a heartbroken Phoebe having to face a pregnancy alone. Now almost twenty years later Aidan returns to Blessing to discover he has a son he never knew about.

I loved the way this author crafted this story. The situation was handle with love and kindness. Not the angsty upheaval in other stories. I could feel the love between Aidan and Phoebe as well as Lee. This is a very well done book and these characters will steal your heart. I highly recommend this one.

A lovely romance that starts with a boom and does meet all expectations.
It was the first I read in this series and I want to read others as I really liked the settings.
There's just one thing I didn't like: as there was a child involved I couldn't understand why nobody thought of telling the father.
The plot is great, there's a heartwarming love story and the beginning of a new one.
Recommended!

I loved this book. I love second chance romances. I felt so bad for Phoebe. I'm so happy that she got the life and love she deserved.

Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) provided by the Author and Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an fair and honest review.

Eyeballs deep in angst, it's really unbelievable how stupid some people can be. Unless the hero is psychic, just how was he supposed to know she was pregnant when he left? I will grant you that she did apologize for her actions after the fire and death of her father, but her family and the whole town had pretty much driven Aidan and his father away. I get that Phoebe didn't want to be wanted just because she was pregnant, but Aidan had a right to at least know. This book is my very valid reason as to why I'm not a real romance fan and the "unknown baby" is one of my least favorite romance trope.

I will admit that Phoebe began to grow on me as the book progressed. She had the grit and spirit and determination to survive as a single mother for 20 years in a small Georgia town and her son, Lee, turned out to be an awesome young man. Aidan showed his loyalty to his father, left Blessings and never looked back. But he never forgot Phoebe. It sure seems to me that if he still had such deep feelings for her he would have returned after college to get closure on this. Twenty years is a awful long time to lose for two people who were "meant" for each other.

Well, now they are all together and the past is being dealt with. There are only a few questions that remain to be answered and the most important of those is: Can Aidan and Phoebe again find the true love they once shared? I give this one 3-Stars for the Aidan/Phoebe story and a 1/2-Star for the setup to the next book, the Dan/Alice story which looks to be another of my least favorite romance tropes, "The love of my life is dead and I can't love anyone else". 3 1/2-Stars

Come Back to Me, book six of Sharon Sala's series set in Blessings, Georgia, is a story about second chances and the redeeming power of love, with characters that will tug at your emotions.

This installment revolves around Phoebe Ritter and Aidan Payne, high school sweethearts who were torn apart by tragedy. Phoebe's father died in a fire that consumed the family's bakery as well as the auto supply store owned by Aidan's family. Accusations fly that Aidan's father set the fire at his store for insurance money, as his wife is dying of cancer. Aidan's father is cleared but is shunned by those who don't believe him innocent after all the rumors started by Phoebe's uncle. Their young love fractures and does not withstand the pressure from their respective families. Aidan moves away with his father after his mother passes away, leaving a devastated Phoebe alone and, unknown to Aidan, pregnant.

Phoebe remains in Blessings and, with the help of Aidan's grandfather, raises her son, Lee. Aidan lives in New Orleans, where he is a successful restaurateur. He returns to Blessings after his grandfather's death to take care of his estate and expects to find Phoebe married with a family. Instead, the family he finds is his. The whole town knows Lee is Aidan's son, and Phoebe has been truthful with her son about his father. Phoebe promotes a relationship between Lee and his father, and Aidan soon realizes that Phoebe and Lee are his future.

Sala paints a vivid picture of small town life, where everyone knows your name and your business. The book is well-written and can be read as a stand alone; however, Sala continually refers to the many characters from the series. With so many characters to follow, Aidan and Phoebe's story sometimes gets lost; however, it is well worth sticking with until the end.

I received a copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have really enjoyed books by Sharon Sala in the past, but this one just didn't work as well for me. The beginning starts off with a high-adrenaline fire at the store Aiden's father runs. And so begins a very sad and upsetting story as the fire spreads to kill he girlfriend's father in the shop next door. While this was a horrible tragedy, the fallout of the town's emotions set the stage and conflict between our couple in such a detailed way that made me feel so much for these two.

But then we get back to "now" and things didn't go as well as I had hoped. While I'm not a huge fan of the secret-baby, there are times that it is both appropriate and believable that will not lead me to dislike the heroine. Unfortunately, this book did not do well in that area. Not only did Phoebe not tell Aiden about her son (for 19 years), but the whole town knew, including his grandfather, and no one seemed to think it might be a good thing to let him know. I instantly disliked all of them. That is not a cool thing to do to someone.

Aiden's reaction to finding out about his son, Lee, was a very underplayed. I wanted him to go through the stages of grief and anger. He lost an entire childhood with his son, and he seemed to just be a little annoyed about it. Lee also didn't quite act like I expected a nineteen-year-old to. I kept thinking that he was much younger because of the phrases he used and some of his behaviors.

There were some really good spots woven amongst this, and if you enjoy the secret-baby stories, then this will be a great read for you. The mystery of who set the fire threads through the story, and I enjoyed how it came to its conclusion and the way the town reacted once the truth finally came out.

Sharon Sala is fast becoming an auto-buy author for me. I truly enjoy the Blessings series so was pleased when I received an invitation from the publisher, via Net-Galley. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

Come Back to Me is a heart-warming second chance romance, one of my favorite troupes. As always, Ms. Sala weaves the many engaging characters throughout the story. While at times, I had to slow down my reading when she goes from one character’s POV to another, I am becoming used to her writing style.

Phoebe’s character is endearing, and she is a nurture which is my favorite archetype. Her willingness to put her life on hold for her son is a selfless act few women would make. If that was her only reason she has not allowed a man in her life, I might have a harder time believing it. Her love for Aidan just would not die. Since I’m a romantic at heart, this melted me into a puddle of goo.

Aidan is a mix of the warrior and best friend archetype and a refreshing change from the typical male hero in most romances. I loved him from the start. His sincerity and willingness to take responsibility for his part in what happened between him and Phoebe stole my heart.

The romance between Phoebe and Aidan is a deeply emotional one that tugged at my soul. Yet there is a playful side to it as well. I truly wanted them to find their happy ending.

If you enjoy small town romances with an array of delightful and funny characters with a beautiful love story added in, then you will love Come Back to Me as much as I did. I look forward to more novels set in the quaint and friendly town of Blessings. Happy reading!

Come Back to Me by Sharon Sala is the 6th book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series. Having read all the books in this series, I looked forward to reading this book, and to no surprise, I really enjoyed it. Sharon Sala always gives us wonderful feel good romances and a sweet couple we root hard for.

The story starts 20 years in the past, when teenage sweethearts were broken up by tragedy. Aidan Payne and Phoebe Ritter were in love, and planned to spend the rest of their lives together, even though they were only 19, they were meant for each other. Then a tragic fire destroys Aidan’s father’s business and Phoebe’s father was killed in the fire. Phoebe’s family accused Aidan’s father of setting the fire to get the insurance money to help pay for his wife’s (Aidan’s mom) cancer treatments. Feeling betrayed that the town believed those rumors, the family moved away, with Aidan unable to accept that Phoebe broke up with him due to pressure from her family.

Now twenty years later, Aidan, who owns a successful restaurant in New Orleans and returns to Blessings to handle his grandfather’s estate. He quickly notices Phoebe, and sees her with a young boy, whom he figures is her son. Thinking that she married during those 20 years, Aidan will be shocked to find out the Phoebe never married, and had a difficult time during those years, having been abandoned by her mother and uncle. It was Aidan’s grandfather, and the town of Blessings who helped Phoebe and her son, Lee to make a good life. The biggest shock was when Aidan learned that Lee was his son.

What follows is a heartwarming & emotional story that touched our hearts on many levels. Phoebe at first was determined to ignore Aidan, but at the same time allow him to become closer to Lee. I loved Lee, as he was such a sweet, loving and understanding young man, who wanted to push his mom and dad back together. In a short time, Phoebe and Aidan will realize that they never stopped loving each other, and it was a joy to see them begin their second chance at love. There was a side story that will touch base on who truly started the fire, and the resolution. I loved Phoebe, Aidan and Lee, as they were so wonderful together. Very heartwarming.

Sharon Sala writes another fabulous story that had us hooked from the start. She amazes me that she continually gives us such great couples that we become invested in, with each and every book. Come Back to Me was a sweet romance, with a lovable couple, wonderful secondary characters that we came to love. If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. Come Back to Me was a wonderful read, written so very well by Sharon Sala.

The odds were never in their favor. One selfish act broke two young hearts and started a feud that left years of damage blowing in the wind. Nineteen years later one explosive secret could right the wrongs of the past or destroy any hope for the future. Come Back to Me is a tale of young love that spans many years and harbors a great deal of secrets. Aidan and Phoebe are victims of their own circumstance. From hidden agendas to heartbreaking betrayals and the potential for a second chance. Sala weaves a tale of intriguing mystique and heartbreaking delight. A new beginning that proved years in the making.

I received an ARC from Netgalley. I've liked every book in the Blessings series and this one was a joy also. Aiden and Phoebe were a couple who went through a horrible time before finding their way back to each other. Love the small town vibes and the way Sharon Sala leads into another forthcoming book with Dan Amos and Alice hopefully.

Come Back to Me by Sharon Sala

A sweet romance novel taking you, the reader, from teenage love through to adult regrets and romance. This is a lovely tug at the heart strings, with some wonderful characters and a great backdrop, Blessings. Ms Sala knows the psyche of people and her writings show a wonderful depth of understanding; the hope and love, the angst and cowardice. Overall, a super romance novel that I would be happy to recommend to anyone who likes the sound of the book’s description – which accurately relates the story-line without giving too much away.

Come Back to Me was pretty good. The easy reunion between the two main characters surprised me. They seems a little too good to be true. Even Lee was the perfect kid without one issue. There was a lot of head hopping that distracted from the story flow and the frequent changes of POV made several stories overlap, making me unsure which was the most important. But, the overall story in itself held a lot of depth so I give it three stars for that. About halfway through, the love story was pretty much solved and the mystery was solved before the ending. There was a lot background story for a new character, that I’m assuming is for another book at some point? But, I didn’t feel it was necessary to give Dan so much storytelling time with his own thoughts and musings. It took away from the actual story. I couldn’t tell if the main story arc was the love story was about Phoebe and Aidian or about everybody else around them.

Phoebe and Aiden were sweethearts in high school but when a terrible tragedy occurred in Blessings, GA Aiden and his father were practically run out of town. Phoebe begged Aiden to forgive her but he refused and left without a second glance. When Aiden returns many years later, he finds out not only did he leave Phoebe but he also missed out on his son’s entire childhood. Lee is an amazing boy, and wants to get his parents back together. Sharon Sala can write about towns and their characters like you are one of the them, and when the book ends you realize you aren’t and you don’t want the book to end. I love this Blessings series and I think you will also.

Sharon Sala is one of my favorite authors and she never disappoints! I read this novel in one day, I couldn’t put it down. Sweet story of enduring love inspite of tragedy, heartbreak and betrayal. Humor, selflessness, inspiration and forgiveness between the main characters Phoebe and Aidan creates a great interaction between them. Fantastic from beginning to end! My thanks to the author and her publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the novel Come Back to Me.
