Cute and quick, this book is about how kids look up to their daddies for different reasons. The colors are bright and will be interesting to any child.

As a teacher, I am always looking for resources (especially books) that positively show all kinds of families. I like the concept of this one, but it seems like it isn't finished yet and the dialogue isn't quote edited thoroughly. The idea is sweet, though.

Little White Fish and His Daddy is a sweet little board book about a fish and his friends appreciating the special qualities their daddies have. Some daddies are big, some daddies are strong, some daddies are funny and little fish's daddy is special too. My toddler LOVED the colorful sea creatures and insisted we read it 3 more times. A beautiful, simple book great for preschool and younger children. Perfect for Father's Day!

I received this book as a galley for an independent review from NetGalley. I appreciate the opportunity to read and review this story.

Little white fish listens as all the other sea creatures share the best qualities of their dads before sharing what makes his own dad the best in his eyes. The message that each individual brings something unique and great is very well done. This is a cute title for small children and works best as a board book. It should appeal to toddlers because of the bright colors and good illustrations though it lacks the rhythmic, lyrical quality you often find in books targeted to this age group. The storyline itself should appeal to preschool age children.

This was ok, not great, just ok. Would make a good board book for little ones, but it is really too young for even my preschoolers and kinders.

This is a nice little book for little ones about a little fish who hears all the ways that various other sea creatures fathers are great, and in the end appreciates what is great about their father too. The highlight, other than the underlying message about how different parents might be great in different ways, but all are great in their own way, is the vibrant and interesting illustrations. They are colourful and eye-catching and wonderful for little storylovers. In comparison, the text is very straightforward with no rhyme, rhythm, wordplay or zaniness to add further attention-getting or give the book a 'sing-song' quality that so many toddlers love and want again and again. Overall a nice story with great illustrations that could have done with a wee ramp up on the text front.

Very cute little book. The story is very good and well written. The artwork was super cute too, and went along very well with the story.

This was a very cute premise for a story. I do feel the story ended very abruptly though! All of a sudden there was one sentence about his dad and it was over. I even feel like the pictures ended soon too!

My kids and I loved the pictures in the book. The story itself started out great and correlated very well to the pictures. The last page seemed a little different and did not read exactly the same as the rest of the book. I did notice that this story was translated from Dutch, so I wonder if that has anything to do with it. Having said that, I think it would be a good book for a dad to read with his kids. Updated review - I updated based on the proposed price. I think that would be high, especially compared to other books for this genre.

Little White Fish and His Daddy by Guido Van Genechten is all you would hope for it to be: adorable, sweet, relatable and it will definitely tug on your heartstrings again, just like the adventures which are already available. Van Genechten's bright, colorful illustrations will have your little one wanting to read this book over and over again.

All of Little White Fish's friends tell him why their dads are the fastest (like little seahorse's dad), smartest (like little starfish's daddy) or biggest (little whale) fathers in the ocean, and he gets a bit sad, because he is pretty impressed by all his friends' daddies. But he soon figures out why his daddy is actually the best in the ocean, and all of the animals agree. All little sea creatures have fantastic daddies who are good at something, so kids learn that it is okay to be different and that everybody has their strength that they can be adored for.

Little White Fish and His Daddy will be published on May 21, 2019 and is recommended for ages 2.5 and up. Let me tell you though that younger kids find this book also quite enjoyable. Don't hesitate to put this on your list of gifts to get for next year's Father's Day, which is on June 16, 2019.

I requested to read this book from Netgalley. I think the story is cute and the artwork is nicely done (not to busy). It is a short story and was over before we knew it; which is great for little readers. This is a great book to read for Father's day.

My 5 year old son likes this book and is looking forward to reading it with his dad.

Sweet novel depicting the personification of sea animals showing love for their dads. It is preschool appropriate.

Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read Little White Fish and His Daddy. As an educator, parent, and grandparent I love picture books, but I also like a story to go along with the illustrations. I found this book to be disappointing on both counts. It was cute but lacked substance. I would be hesitant to pay the cover price for this book.

This was cute short book perfect for bedtime story-time or for children learning to read. The sea animals and colorful depictions really pull the children in and make reading fun.

We have different little sea animals telling Little White Fish what makes their daddies spacial and unique. It was just so adorable.

Read this to my three year old grandson. He looked at the pictures but didn't ask me to read it again which he does with all his favorite books. The illustrations were colorful but the story seemed a little short even for the age group targeted.

I enjoyed the flow of this book and the use of feeling/emotion words. The last page seems to imply that only White Fish's father can be viewed as the best because he reads, etc. The overall premise of the book is a strong one: that all father's are special in the heart of their child. However, I think the depth that we explore the relationship between White Fish and his father is limited and so does not really fulfill the point of the book.

I thought this was a colorful, well-illustrated book about dads. I would read this one at a toddler storytime especially around Father's day.

What a wonderful little book that would be a wonderful Father's Day gift from a toddler! The book is written in simplistic language, but emphasizes the superlatives of the Daddy Fish, and would be an excellent tool to teach those words to toddlers. As a speech language pathologist, I would encourage SLPs and teachers, as well as parents to incorporate this into their reading rotation for young toddlers and preschool children. It's a charming little book with great illustrations, teaming with lots of opportunity for language development. Make sure you purchase this book for your favorite daddy!

Thank you to #NetGalley and the publisher for a pre-publication copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Love it!

Little White Fish and His Daddy was a cute little book. It is a simple book for young kids. I was a little concerned that it might make the kids feel sad or jealous hearing about all these other dads, but all of the different animals seemed supportive of each other, which is nice. Not the greatest book, but a simple and easy read for younger kids learning to read and for when they are reading with their dad.

I received a free digital copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.
