The chemistry between Cassie and Patrick was off the walls. I loved everything about this book and can't wait to read more by this author.

his is the second book in this series by this author. This is the first book I've read by this author and it won't be the last. This is a steamy BDSM romance themed read. Amazing characters with very hot and steamy chemistry between them. I will definitely be going back to read the first book in this series. I can't wait to read more from this author in the future.

Highly recommended

Good day! Before anything else, I would like to extend my deepest, sincerest gratitude for sending me a digital review copy of this book (via NetGalley). Thank you very much for the opportunity!

Unfortunately, I am sad to say that I have lost interest in this particular title, and consequently, I have decided against finishing it. Forcing myself to finish a book I am disinterested in (solely for the sake of finishing it) can only negatively impact the entirety of my reading experience, which, in turn, could result in me writing an unfairly negative review. That is a circumstance I hope to avoid. With that said, I believe that the best course of action is for me to simply not read it and to refrain from publicly posting any feedback regarding this book.

I hope you understand where I'm coming from. Again, thank you for the lovely opportunity!

Her Claim by author Rebecca Grace Allen is the second book in the Legally Bound series. You do not have to read the first book to understand this book. I didn’t I was not lost at all.
Cassie is fiery, strong, and needs no man to save her. I liked her toughness and how she tempers it with being a person that just needs love not saving. She is an attorney and knows what she wants out of life. She is not scared to go get it.
Patrick has been trapped by his family’s business for a long time. I actually thought he needed Cassie to save him from himself. He does not believe in happily ever after. He is strong, does one-night stands, and never risks his heart.

Well both of these characters break all their rules with each other. The chemistry is off the charts. They each have what the other needs to make them the perfect couple together. I loved this story and will be looking for more from this author in the future.

Five Shooting Stars

This was a phenomenal read! Cassie and Patrick are so cute! I love that they are older in their late 30s and 40s. I love that they have walls up that they break down for one another. I adored thwir family dynamics. The slight hints of bdsm were interesting as well. I think this was simply beautiful and the writing was smooth. Totally recommend it.

Admittedly, BDSM isn’t always my cup o’ tea… it has to be done in a way that works for me, so there are only a few that I honestly trust to do it right, and Rebecca Grace Allen is one of those.
This is a book 2 in a companion series, you don’t need to read book 1 to know what’s going on, but some of the characters and their situations will make more sense if you do.

Cassie Allbright is a kick-ass, ball-busting attorney. The only thing she’s determined to accomplish is becoming a partner in her law firm, and when she finds out that it might not happen, she knows something has to change. What she doesn’t need is Patrick Dunham pissing her off with his man-whore ways.

Patrick himself is stuck working for his family’s publishing house, something he never wanted but does in order to keep his mother in the life she has grown accustomed to. He’s not looking for a relationship and never sees a woman more than once, but he can’t seem to get the sexy but frustrating Cassie out of his mind.

I have to admit that it’s refreshing to read about couples in my particular age range. I love it when I can relate to characters in that way because it’s rare, and even more, these two were so sexy and successful and experienced enough to know what they liked and didn’t like and mature enough to talk about what they wanted and were looking for without being uncomfortable about it. I think a lot of these things definitely come with age and experience.

Patrick and Cassie had some really hot encounters that were so well done. It was interesting to hear Cassie share these darker desires, and even more so to see them play out. I really loved that Patrick was all about helping her explore these scenarios and not ask for anything for himself… I mean other than the sex you know.

I think that at times I felt that Cassie was a little bit too stubborn, and I was incredibly surprised how quickly she put everything behind her when Patrick asked for more, but I did love that she was such a strong personality and she was determined to succeed, and despite the pushing from her family to get married and start a family show that, that isn’t necessarily every woman’s desire.

If you’re a fan of erotic romance I highly suggest trying Rebecca Grace Allen’s titles. You’ll love the depth of her characters and the sexy stories she tells!

This is the second book in the Legally Bound Series. I never read the first book, His Contract and I was worried I would be lost but these seem to be stand-alone books. I never felt lost or confused. That being said, I loved this book so much I can’t wait to read the first one.

Cassie is an attorney looking to make partner at her firm. She is a no-nonsense, get what she wants type woman who isn’t looking to find a husband or have children until she gets partner. Patrick is as the book describes “an arrogant, chauvinistic man-whore” and he is not looking for a wife or children. Ever. Cassie and Patrick are both strong willed and won’t take shit from anyone. Because they are both so pig headed, they fight, all the time. Patrick finds Cassie challenging and he’s never met a woman who could resist him. Cassie finds Patrick annoying and full of himself, but she thinks he may be the only one who can fulfill her fantasies. Because they are not fantasies she can just tell anyone. Their relationship is very unique. They are both strong people who are really just looking to “fix and itch” and not have feelings get involved. However, we’ve all heard the story of friends with benefits. Someone’s heart always gets involved.

The chemistry between Cassie and Patrick is very evident with each new chapter. Cassie is 39 so her mom is constantly asking her when she’s getting married and having babies but for Cassie she’s not ready. She is a strong willed woman who knows what she wants and part of that involves her dark fantasies. Patrick is able to fulfill those fantasies without making Cassie feel ashamed. In fact those particular scenes are extremely hot and it’s been a long time since I’ve read a book that has a well-written sex scene. Rebecca Grace Allen does it again and again throughout this book.

The ending of this book was very predictable but I loved it non-the-less. Rebecca Grace Allen was able to give Cassie and Patrick the relationship they needed and while it wasn’t easy, they grew with each other and I wish I could keep reading more.

Cassie was a strong woman and had just felt a stunning blow to her career. So much time and effort into building a career that has left her missing two of the things her mother wants the most for her. A husband and a family to call her own. No one felts the build for that role until verbal sparring with her worthy opponent turns into something so much more. Patrick feels restless in his life. Losing himself in seduction and one night stands that never go anywhere he loses the battle of fighting his feelings against Cassie. Can two strong characters find a balance with each other or will they continue to deny the attraction they fight with their verbal sparring? Definitely will keep up I on the edge of your seat desperate to see who gets the last word.

nother fabulous contemporary romance by Rebecca Grace Allen. I didn't read the first book in this series, but I'm assuming that it, like this one, is kink-focused. High-powered lawyer Cassie Allbright (39 years old, half Cuban, half Caucasian) has been "battling the gender gap and racial bias" for as long as she can remember. And she's just been told by one of the boys' club partners at her firm that she hasn't yet made herself "invaluable" to the firm, and that she needs to bring in more big business if she wants a chance to make partner. She lets off some of her work tension by verbally sparring with friend-of-a-friend white boy Patrick, a certified "man-whoring chauvinist pig." But when the two take their sparring from the barroom to the bedroom, Cassie finds she's able to indulge in power play fantasies that she never before had the courage to ask for: "She wanted a man to prove himself—to show that as tough as she was, he could be tougher. Because what turned her on the most was the idea of being physically controlled by someone she couldn't fight off" (Kindle Loc 2048)

46-year-old Patrick has a lot of backstory baggage: Daddy issues, Mommy issues, first love crushed heart issues etc. So his jerkiness has a cause. Cassie isn't out to "fix" him, but developing a relationship with her does allow him to finally confront some of his issues and stop living in the past.

Cassie's efforts to straddle her biracial heritage are convincingly and movingly portrayed. Light-skinned enough to "pass," she often takes advantage of that privilege, but ends up feeling like a part of her has been erased in the process. How she comes to reconcile her multiple selves into a comfortable whole is an added bonus here.

This book ticked all the boxes for me. I loved both main characters, two mature adults, neither of whom was afraid of who they were or what they wanted. Cassie and Patrick have a love/hate relationship that evolves into so much more. And I loved that both characters were able to be open and honest with one another. It was a multi-layered story about two people who truly connect physically and emotionally. This was my first book by Rebecca Grace Allen, but it will definitely not be my last. She’s on my Must Read list from here on out.

Besides being sexy it was also very emotional and well written. The reader felt Cassie's frustrations about the future and her embarrassment about her hidden fantasies. Patrick complements her well. It's a very explicit romance with bdsm.

I received this book and to be honest I didnt read the first one but that is totally fine. You can pick this book up without reading the first one but once you read this one you will definitely want to read the first one so just start there. I couldn't put this book down. I was finding myself excited to get home from work to pick it back up to finish it. This is a good mix between love story and erotica. I would highly recommend everyone to read this. I looked on her website and she is making a 3rd to it which I can not wait for it to come out.

First book I’ve read by this author and I flippin’ loved it. Not what I was expecting at all but I loved it just the same. I’m so used to reading books where the characters are in their twenties or it’s a May-December romance so in this having both characters be older was a great change of pace. There’s definitely a whole different set of issues or opportunities that come with age. Cassie and Patrick are amazing. I love their wholehearted support of each other and their efforts to find their passions.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

Since I am not familiar with the story, I will read book 1 soon.
The story is interesting but I am missing the bits of puzzles of the story. Although this is still interesting to read.

**ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

Her Claim is the first book I've read by Rebecca Grace Allen but it certainly won't be my last. I absolutely LOVED both Cassie and Patrick. It was great to read a story where the characters were older and had actually had careers. I typically read a couple of romance novels a week and most feature the typical 30 somthing's or worse yet an early 20's female and an early 30's male. It quickly gets boring reading the same thing over and over. This was definitely a refreshing change.

Cassie and Patrick are not you stereotypical romance couple. Solid romance with lots of heat. Liked it

Be prepared for one sexy and entertaining ride. When you get the chance to fulfill all your darkest desires, what would you do?

Cassie is one strong, independent and tough lawyer. She is smart, intelligent, bratty and focused on her work she is good at. But deep down she is missing some crucial part, she is craving a dominant man who is strong enough to stand up to her, to fight her back and force her to submit. She is ashamed of her darkest fantasies of consensual non-con, but she finds her match in Patrick.

Patrick is sexy playboy who has only one rule. Never sleeps with the same woman twice and tell them ahead what to expect. His goal is to fulfill their fantasies and leave before morning. But he is transfixed with Cassie’s attitude and her snickering comment about his lifestyle. He is interested in her but she doesn’t seem to fall on his charm.

But one night the spark between them catches fire and their one-night stand is one of the best for both of them. The game is changed. Their agreement for just sex and fulfilling Cassie’s darkest desires is for both of their safety.

The chemistry between them is obvious from the beginning, their love-hate relationship is just oil to the fire. I loved how we have to strong characters that are incompatible on the first sight, but when you look closer they are perfect. Their quickly building relationship is intense and full of hard, dirty and hot sex. Their scenes are building from the beginning and they go deeper into bdsm. The trust and finally live is what wins in the end.

I like how the author brings out some important questions:

– woman can still struggle in the man job despite them being good enough

– how hard is for mixed races to lose the community stereotypes

– how to accept some part of yourself you are afraid to show

This book is fun, intense, sexy and full of snarky remarks from interesting characters. The author did a great job with them. The writing is also good. I would recommend it to everybody who loves sex and smut romance with HEA.

starred review starAllen, Rebecca Grace. Her Claim. Rebecca Grace Allen Enterprises. (Legally Bound, Bk. 2). Apr. 2018. 342p. ebk. ISBN 9780997879278. $5.99. CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE/EROTICA
On the one hand, this second title in the series (after The Duality Principle) reads like a love story for the 21st century, with its focus on trust and consent and its biracial, body-positive heroine. At the same time, it’s an erotic and downright kinky romance, whereby the protagonists explore areas of edge-play that make them realize that the most important thing in any relationship is trust—something with which neither has a whole lot of experience. What they do have, however, is a fair number of battle scars. Publishing mogul Patrick Dunham is in his mid-40s, while lawyer Cassie Allbright is 39 and facing all the decisions that come with that milestone. Readers will relate to her dilemmas, both personal and professional. These are frenemies who come at everything and each other from opposite perspectives, so when “fight or flight” kicks in, she chooses fight, while he chooses flight every time.
Verdict This romance combining sex-into-love with enemies-into-lovers is highly recommended for fans of either of these tropes. Readers wanting an erotic romance that is very hot but also features emotional ups and downs and a happy ever after will also be satisfied.—Marlene Harris, Reading Reality, Duluth, GA
