Great, heart-warming characters. Very interesting plot. Vivid descriptions. I felt every emotion. Just enough romance. Kept me intrigued from the first page to the last. Simply a GREAT read!

*I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

I have postponed writing this review for quite some time because the story just didn’t do it for me and I didnt want to write anything negative. In all honestly I didn’t finish the book. I found it predictable and slow. I give it 2 stars because I admire the courage that anyone has to reach for theIr dreams and encourage Ms. Ridley to continue to do so. Let’s face it , what may not appeal to me may appeal to someone else

I enjoyed the story twists in this book and look forward to Erica Ridley's next one! The cover was a nice draw!

I loved Faith and Hawk so much! Their story was filled with obstacles, but it was still very sweet. Of course, Faith had enough temper to not simply become a stumbling mess when Hawk tried to woo her.

I love Ridley's stories - they are sweet, hot, uplifting and always with unconventional characters.

Love, loved Lord Hawkridge's story! I've been waiting for his book, since the first time we "met" him in previous books. I couldn't wait to find out the back story with him and Faith, and it did not disappoint. A fun and light hearted read, as always from Ms Ridley.

This second chance historical romance is centred around the division in status and the pain it brings.

Hawk is a destitute Lord. He made a choice ten years ago, sacrificing what he really wanted to honour his duty.

Faith partners her best friend in running a school for young girls who are destitute. She has a well kept secret.

When Hawk and Faith meet again after ten years, she is not very welcoming. Justifiable, after how their romance ended. One thing hasn't changed though. Can the mistakes, and the secret be left in the past so that they can look to the future?

I had a lot of empathy for Hawk to begin with, but his reaction to the secret is rather unfair. He comes across as being arrogant and entitled, but once he puts things in perspective, he does the right thing. Faith proves to be strong and protective. Despite all the difficulties, she finds a way to forgive. It's a good concept with a lot of mixfeelings.

I was kindly issued with an eARC from Netgalley and the views expressed are my personal opinion.

Erica NEVER fails to disappoint. This is just one of a long line of well developed, fun and sentimental reads. Just the right length, just the right amount of steaminess. She is at the top of my watch list authors

Another hit by Erica Ridley! Fun, steamy and sassy, this Regency romance will keep you entertained. Confirmed spinster meets bachelor duke with a bet riding on finding said unmarriageable spinster a husband...what could go wrong? Enjoy!

Disappointingly dreary
This is a Regency romance that is both a second chance love story and a secret baby story. I often enjoy those two tropes, but this one was not entertaining for me. I struggled to finish it. In my opinion, it is a dreary, overly angsty story.

Compared to other books by Erica Ridley, this one was a lot less fun. The hero and heroine's thoughts were very repetitive. The hero, Lord Hawkridge, dwelled on his financial problems and his guilt for jilting Miss Faith Digby ten years ago. Faith's thoughts constantly centered on her secret child and on her need to keep everyone falsely thinking that the child is her niece. The book's theme of the importance of family was nice, but most of the audiobook was rather depressing and frustrating.

Also, I thought that the relationship developed too slowly and there were not enough love scenes. Instead of this "Lord of Temptation", I recommend "Lord of Vice" that is later in the same series. I found that book to be very charming and entertaining.

I received a free advanced reading copy from the publisher via Netgalley, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

I received this from Netgalley/ Author in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed this a great deal. This is book 4 in the Rogues to Riches series. In this one we have Hawk a poor marquess that needs money to save his estate. Faith is a fallen woman who’s heart had been broken by Hawk. The story was really well done and I enjoyed it a lot I just couldn’t put it down. I am looking forward to more in the series.

the book started off as somewhat of a dull read but turned out witty and interesting as it went further into the story.the way the relationships were described and the way the main characters and their family are portrayed in the book makes this a interesting twist to historical romances.worth the read.

A story about love almost lost, but finally recovered. I did enjoy the characters and certainly related to the fact that youth and mistakes easily go together. The H was able to correct his mistakes and find a happy ending for them both.

Impoverished Lord Hawkridge is a bit different from other members of the ton who are penniless. He is determined to pay back his father's debts and not incur any new ones in the process. Since coming into the Marquette ten years ago, he has given up a lot, including the woman he loved. We met Hawk in book three of this series as he is developing a relationship with his illegitimate half brother. His character is revealed as he refuses to gamble with money he does not have, even refusing what he calls a "charity" drink. His new relationship with his brother brings him back into the life of his former love. Has their love died or does it continue? Will Hawk be able to convince Faith he wants her and not her money? What will be his reaction when he learns her well kept secret. Will love be given a second chance? This is a really enjoyable book. In particular the characters are very likeable. I hope to see more of them in other books in the series.

So far I have loved all of Erica Ridley's romances! After I read this one I had to go back and read the first of the series! Such fun characters and world building. I read it so fast and just adore Hawk and Faith!

The previous entry in this series featured a lot of Hawkridge, a titled but destitute man with more honor—or ego—than is good for him. This story is different in that it’s a regret and fix plot, where the characters have a past they must overcome.
This isn’t the best book in the series, but it is the sweetest. Of course it helps when there’s an adorable ten year old girl as a large secondary character. From a historical perspective, the balloon scene was lovely.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

Another great series I missed the first two books so I had to go buy them off amazon that's how engrossed I got into the cross over characters. I will definitely be requesting more from this author in the future. Book received as an ARC from NetGalley. I never give story content because you need to read for yourself.

They loved each other when they were very young, but Hawkridge walked away from Faith (a commoner) because he had no money and believed that she deserved better. Ten years later Hawkridge is still trying to get rid of the family debt while Faith's family has become well-off. Hawkridge still loves her after all this time. When the meet again it is awkward and stilted and Faith wants nothing more to do with him. At the very least Hawkridge wants to explain what happened all those years ago and apologize to her, make it up to her. There are things; however, that he does not know about. Something hidden that could keep them apart forever.

I absolutely loved this book. It is full of emotion and drama along with a very well written and complex plot, and characters that you will love. The characters are very well developed and complex and also very interesting. This is a second chance love story that will pull at your heartstrings. I got so emotionally involved in the story that at one point I became very emotional and started to cry. It was absolutely wonderful! You really need to read this story to find out if these two people get their HEA. You will not regret it. I will be reading more from this author in the future.

Another one for the record books. I absolutely loved this book. Hawk and Faith were meant to be together. I love a rags to riches story.

This was a cute enough addition to the series, but the premise was a bit flimsy this time. Still, fans of Erica Ridley will enjoy it.
